Chapter 152: Chapter 152: Did You Two Date Before?
Originally, it was just a few jokes. Diana Dawson wiped the cold sweat and stuttered, scared. "No! I’m just here for Foreman Lynch! I’m not jumping ship, not jumping ship!"
"Alright." Knowing her temperament, Thea Lynch gave Foreman Chandler a look, signaling him to stop teasing her.
With Thea Lynch’s help, Diana Dawson also breathed a sigh of relief and went out shortly after.
As soon as she left, Foreman Chandler couldn’t resist asking, "This young girl looks like she hasn’t graduated from college yet."
Thea Lynch knew exactly what Foreman Chandler was implying.
Foreman Chandler is quite tactful in his words; he meant that this young girl looks too rigid, as if she has no experience, not very savvy.
It doesn’t seem like someone she would use.
Returning to her workstation, Thea Lynch slowly explained, "She just graduated from college. She’s a bit introverted, but she’s not dumb. Looking at her grades, there’s no padding."
"Impressive." Foreman Chandler raised his eyebrows and said in surprise, "Not many people get such praise from Foreman Lynch."
"If I didn’t know your temperament, I’d really think this person got in through the back door to get such special attention from you."
Because they’re quite familiar with each other, Foreman Chandler jokes with her without much reservation.
Thea Lynch laughed, "It’s not considered special attention. I just suddenly feel that people like this are more reliable, not scheming, can focus their mind on work."
"That’s true." Foreman Chandler agreed, "She may be a bit dull, but there’s no cunning."
"Maybe Foreman Lynch just suits this kind of assistant."
Thea Lynch glanced at the soy milk beside her and handed it to Foreman Chandler and the others, "You guys drink it for me."
"Where do you want to eat tonight? I’ll make a reservation."
They said anywhere is fine, not picky.
"Foreman Lynch is treating, why should we choose a place, anywhere is fine."
"Exactly, as long as there’s food, it’s good hahahaha."
Thea Lynch nodded with a smile, "Alright, the usual place."
They hadn’t been to that entertainment club in a while.
Just as she had been taking leave recently, hadn’t privately gathered much with them for dinner, it’s a perfect opportunity to make up for it.
"Still going there?"
Everyone was worried about Thea Lynch’s expense. "Just a simple meal is enough."
"No worries." That spot is convenient for eating, drinking, and having fun, Thea Lynch could tell they liked that place but were just embarrassed to mention it.
"There’s still some money left in the card given by someone else, it’d be a waste to keep it. If I don’t go with you guys, I usually don’t have much chance to go myself."
With words said to this extent, everyone no longer declined.
In the evening, the entire first development team managed to get off work on time.
From the entrance to the upstairs private room, Thea Lynch’s assistant appeared very reserved.
When paying the bill, she even voluntarily stood up to go. Fortunately, Thea Lynch held her down.
"No need. This is a membership system, the card is given by a friend."
"Ah...like this. Thanks, Foreman Lynch!"
"Enjoy your meal." Thea Lynch raised her chin, signaling her to focus on the food and not think about those useless things.
"Did you find a place to live yet?"
Thea Lynch suddenly spoke, scaring Diana Dawson into immediately putting down her chopsticks, "Not yet."
"Did you move to the company’s free accommodation?"
"Not yet...Sister Lee from HR said I joined too suddenly, she’s still helping me find suitable accommodation. It’ll probably take two more days. I’m currently staying at a friend’s place."
"Which district?"
"Ah?" Diana Dawson didn’t know why she was asking this.
Thea Lynch had her look at Foreman Chandler across the table, a few men were enthusiastically drinking, at this rate, it would likely end late today.
"I live a bit far." Diana Dawson reported a direction, "It took me two and a half hours to come this morning."
Thea Lynch looked at the time, "Take a taxi back later."
She probably wouldn’t catch the metro.
"Ah, okay." Diana Dawson didn’t dare say anything.
But Thea Lynch understood everything, and finally reminded, "Company will reimburse."
"Alright!" The assistant’s eyes lit up, even her voice sounded much happier this time.
The restroom in the private room was occupied, so Thea Lynch got up and went outside.
She had just finished washing her hands in the restroom and bumped into Sarah Sullivan as she stepped down the stairs.
"Finally got you." Sarah Sullivan blocked her way.
Seeing her, Thea Lynch wasn’t surprised at all.
She calmly applied hand cream while avoiding Sarah Sullivan, silently walking forward. Sarah Sullivan hastily followed, "Aren’t you surprised to see me?"
"Get to the point, you have less than a minute."
"What do you mean?" Sarah Sullivan was stunned.
Thea Lynch raised her brows slightly, made eye contact with her, then looked ahead. Following her gaze, Sarah Sullivan blankly looked over and saw several figures hastily approaching her.
There were club staff and security guards in black suits.
This stance, it was like they were catching a fugitive.
Sarah Sullivan still held onto a glimmer of hope, thinking these people weren’t coming for her, until she was caught from left and right.
"..."
Damn, just speechless.
"Wait a minute!" Sarah Sullivan broke free and tightly grabbed Thea Lynch’s arm beside her, "Just one question! Ask and I’ll leave!"
Thea Lynch looked at her, "Ask."
"Did you and Ian Preston date before?"
Thea Lynch frowned. "No."
She didn’t know where Sarah Sullivan got this conclusion from.
"Hmm?" Sarah Sullivan evidently didn’t believe, "Didn’t you go abroad back then because of a breakup?"
Thea Lynch: "..."
What version of the story is this?
How come she, as the person involved, didn’t know?
"That never happened."
"Then..."
"You’ve already asked two questions." Thea Lynch glanced at her hand, "Can you let go?"
Sarah Sullivan bit her tongue.
The security guards around her were glaring intensely, it wasn’t practical to keep pestering.
After confirming Thea Lynch wasn’t lying to her, Sarah Sullivan reluctantly let go, watching Thea Lynch leave.
Today she received a call from her father, saying Ian Preston has long been taken, telling her to give up early.
Upon her probe, sure enough, her father mentioned Thea Lynch’s name.
Her father also revealed, saying Ian Preston and Thea Lynch were together long ago, back when Thea Lynch was still a student, secretly dating Ian Preston. Later going abroad was also due to breaking up, their families were close and didn’t want things to get ugly.
Overall, her father said it vividly, as if it were true. But she didn’t buy it, that’s why she came to ask Thea Lynch.
However, it seemed that even if they didn’t date back then, probably they almost got together. Because her father wouldn’t fabricate such a story for no reason, surely he heard some rumors.
It’s just slightly different from the truth.
Looking at the time, the two really tormented each other for many years.
No wonder Thea Lynch was so confident.
After all, that is Ian Preston, having someone like him wait for her for seven years. If it were her, encountering a rival, she’d definitely be more arrogant than Thea Lynch.
