Chapter 110: Chapter 110: Creating Opportunities for You

In the evening, Thea Lynch was woken up by the noise from downstairs.

She opened her eyes, and her room came into view. Staring at the window opposite for a while, she finally remembered how she got back in Ian Preston’s car.

She fell asleep on the way, and as for how she got back to her room afterward, she had no memory.

After quickly changing clothes, Thea went downstairs.

In the living room, several elders were sitting together, playing chess and chatting, looking more energetic than she, a young person.

"Thea is up."

"Just in time, it’s almost dinner."

The dinner wasn’t as lavish as lunch, mainly because it was just a few families in the yard, not many people.

It was basically a small family gathering.

Thea rolled up her sleeves and wanted to help in the kitchen, but her aunt chased her out, "No need for you. What’s a kid doing in here making a mess? Go, go, go, play outside."

Thea had no choice but to return to the living room to watch the old folks play chess.

Grandpa Bell teased, "Thea, your head doesn’t hurt? You were quite drunk."

"Not really, I don’t feel like I drank too much," Thea insisted.

Grandpa Bell laughed at her. "You call that not much? Your third brother carried you all the way back, and you didn’t wake up with all that noise."

Thea: "..."

"The alcohol wear off now?"

"Yeah," Thea awkwardly rubbed her nose, "I don’t feel anything now."

"Grandpa, where’s Sean? Is he back?"

Upon hearing she was looking for Sean, Grandpa Bell’s smile widened and quickly guided her, "He’s outside, just took a call and went out, he’s in the yard."

Thea got up, "Then I’ll go find him."

"Oh, hurry, hurry," Grandpa Bell waved, visibly excited.

"..." Thea paused, realizing afterward. She turned back, meeting Grandpa Bell’s smiling eyes, resignedly saying, "Grandpa, I have something to talk to him about."

"I know, I know," Grandpa Bell had a look of knowing everything.

Seeing him like this, Thea silently sighed. What does he know?

"I’m looking for him because he left me alone at the hotel this afternoon. Luckily, my third brother left late, or I wouldn’t have caught a ride."

Previously, Thea wasn’t the type who liked to complain.

Especially with these elders.

She always felt matters between younger people, whether good or bad, should be solved by themselves, not troubling the elders.

But now, she really had no choice.

If she didn’t speak honestly, Grandpa Bell would probably continue to misunderstand.

He was now looking at her with a doting gaze as if she were his own granddaughter-in-law.

It truly left her at a loss.

"What?!" Hearing Thea’s words, Grandpa Bell’s expression changed, slamming the chess piece onto the table, "That brat, doesn’t know how to treat people right! Where is he? Thea, drag him in here for me!"

Thea: "It’s okay, it’s okay, I’ll go ask him first. Maybe he left early because something urgent came up this afternoon. Don’t be angry."

Thea barely escaped and bumped into Sean at the corner of the courtyard.

Sean was sitting on a recliner, indeed on the phone.

He hadn’t noticed her, facing away seriously listening to the call. Not wanting to eavesdrop, Thea turned to wait elsewhere.

"Is it that difficult? I just asked you to invite her out, any excuse would do, and you can’t even handle that. Tsk."

"To those who know, it’s Nina Sinclair I want you to invite, to those who don’t, they’d think it’s some ancestor."

Hearing this, Thea halted, turning back.

"Ian? You sure? When did the third brother invite her, tsk interesting, send me the address. Go, why not go..."

The moment he finished speaking, the back of his head got a solid smack.

Sean’s expression changed, malice flickering in his eyes. The next moment, he turned and met Thea’s clear, calm eyes. He paused, made a couple perfunctory remarks to the person on the phone, then hung up hurriedly.

He picked up the glasses beside him, putting it on with a slight smile in his eyes: "Eavesdropping is unethical."

Thea slightly curved her lips, saying with little emotion, "Same to you, what you’re doing isn’t much better."

Caught by her, Sean wasn’t angry. He leaned back, laying down, pointing with his chin to the chair beside, "Sit, let’s talk."

Thea didn’t sit.

"This matter doesn’t concern you, why get so mad?" He referred to the phone call content.

Actually, Thea only caught some of it, only surmising what he might intend.

But just like Sean said, it didn’t concern her.

Judging from the brief clues from the call, he was targeting Ian Preston and Nina Sinclair.

"It’s not about that," Thea crossed her arms, pulling on her jacket, "You left me at the hotel on purpose this afternoon, didn’t you?"

"How could I?" He raised a brow, denying it. "I even went to the entrance looking for you. Tried calling, but no answer, scared me thinking you got abducted or something."

"If not for the security saying you got into a Rolls-Royce, I almost called the cops."

"Tsk, you scared me a bunch. Yet here you are, not even explaining, not comforting me, coming to blame me?"

"..."

He really knew how to twist things.

Sean appeared perfectly calm, sounding utterly convincing.

If this was ten years ago, with his nonsense, Thea might have believed halfway.

But now, ha.

Thea didn’t hold back, kicking him hard in the leg. Sean hissed in pain but was thankful she wore flats now.

If it was those high heels she wore at noon, this kick would’ve hurt for some time.

The two steps she took on him in her heels earlier were no light taps, he could still feel the pain.

Thea truly didn’t spare him.

Whenever she acted, she went all out.

"Talking is one thing, don’t get physical," he said.

"I really believed in your nonsense," Thea clicked her tongue, "You saw my third brother hadn’t left and sent me over. I’m curious, what’s going on in that head of yours all day?"

"What on earth are you trying to do?"

Letting her and Ian Preston leave together, what was the goal?

No matter how she thought, she couldn’t find an answer.

Could anything happen just from sharing a ride with Ian Preston? At most, it offered a chance for small talk, nothing more.

Sean couldn’t possibly believe that she and Ian Preston would bond just by sharing a car ride?

"Just trying to help you guys," Sean spread his hands helplessly, "You and the third brother hadn’t seen each other for a few days, thought I’d give you some alone time, isn’t that good?"

"In retrospect, you should be thanking me."

"..."

Thea was genuinely pissed, her chest hurting, "Thank you my ass."
