Chapter 108: Chapter 108: Get Out Yourself

Thea Lynch knew it.

Nothing good ever comes from being with Sean Bell!

At times like this, he’s the best at making things awkward and killing the mood.

She really had to admit defeat.

Silas Cheney was eating when he heard this, nearly dropping his chopsticks.

Instinctively, he looked up, secretly glancing at Ian Preston beside him, only catching a slight frown from Ian.

Seeing this, he shifted his gaze to Thea, trying to break the strange atmosphere.

"Has Nina Sinclair contacted you lately?"

How was Thea supposed to answer that? She didn’t even know if it was Nina’s number; it was all just Sean’s hearsay, and she couldn’t be sure.

"No." She shook her head, having no other response.

"Today there was a number that called twice, I didn’t pick up, not sure who it was."

"I see..." Silas shifted his gaze again, looking at the instigator on her left.

Their eyes met in the air, and after a brief exchange, Sean shrugged, "I just heard that Nina has been asking around for her number."

Hearing this, Silas frowned.

He genuinely didn’t know about this.

He hadn’t gotten the news, let alone Ian.

Ian remained silent, leaving Silas no choice but to take charge, "Send me that missed call later, I’ll call back. As for Nina, I’ll find someone to ask."

"Let’s eat."

It was best to end the topic here, but Sean wasn’t satisfied.

He leaned on his hand, his bowl and chopsticks in front of him untouched.

Clearly, he didn’t come here to eat but to stir things up.

"Third brother..." As Sean started to speak, a sudden sharp pain shot up his foot, silencing him. He glanced at Thea with a small smile.

Thea squinted and stepped hard on his foot, her warning clear.

Sean smiled slightly, without a trace of pain, calmly withdrawing his gaze and continuing, "This Nina obviously..."

Halfway through his sentence, the figure beside him suddenly stood up.

The chair legs scraped against the floor, making a piercing sound. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

People at other tables turned their heads to look.

Thea smiled apologetically, turning to grab Sean’s collar, "Come out with me for a second."

"Why should I?" Sean protested; he still wanted to eat.

"Did you come here to eat?" Thea asked through gritted teeth, leaning in.

"If not for food, why would I be here?"

Sean urged her to let go.

The two whispered closely, looking extremely intimate. Across from them, Ian’s eyes darkened expressionlessly.

He put down his chopsticks with a light sound. Not loud, but in the overly quiet room, Thea and Sean couldn’t ignore it.

They stopped talking and turned their heads together.

The man’s gloomy gaze swept over them, and with the aura of an elder brother, he said sternly, "Sit down, eat."

"..."

Thea frowned, hesitated, then saw Silas across from her shaking his head gently, his hand under the table signaling her to sit down.

Seeing her sit down, the smile on Sean’s lips widened as he raised an eyebrow, "Third brother."

Unfortunately, this time Ian wasn’t indulging him either, "No talking while eating or sleeping; one more word, and you can leave yourself."

From their understanding of Ian, this was already an ultimatum with no room for negotiation.

At this point, Sean really didn’t dare tease Thea anymore.

After a few rounds of drinks, taking advantage of Ian going to toast the elders, Silas got up and directly dragged Sean out of the banquet hall.

——

In the corridor, Sean was pushed against the wall by Silas.

"Are you crazy?" Sean’s shoulder blades hurt from the impact, nearly prompting a fight.

Silas snapped back at him.

No one was around, the corridor was empty, making it a good spot for a conversation.

Silas pointed at his nose, his face twisting in anger, "What the hell is wrong with you?"

Being scolded by Thea and Ian, Sean could tolerate, but with Silas, it was different.

He swatted Silas’s hand away, about to retort when Silas furiously asked, "Do you even know what day it is or what event this is?"

"What are you trying to pull here? What’s your damn plan, ancestor?"

"You’re the only one I can’t stand, seriously."

"Could you not pull your stunts at the wrong time?"

"It’s Grandpa Lynch’s birthday, and you want to ruin this day? You really can’t stand seeing Thea happy?"

Silas was angry because Sean wanted to cause trouble on such an occasion.

Normally, Sean could cause as much trouble as he wanted, and Silas rarely interfered with his affairs. After all, Sean was a madman, and should be treated with more care and understanding.

That’s what he always told himself.

So most of the time, it was Ian who got the angriest, with the two of them playing good cop, bad cop.

But today, he really couldn’t hold it in anymore.

"You’d better behave for the rest of the day; any other issues can be dealt with afterwards."

Silas warned him repeatedly.

Sean hated it when people talked to him like this. Before he could explode, he caught sight of Thea approaching from one side with his peripheral vision.

The hostility in his eyes disappeared instantly, replaced with a playful look.

Silas noticed the change in an instant, hearing the sound of high heels approaching, he turned his head to see Thea walking over.

Her steps were hurried, her dress fluttering in the air, spinning slightly.

Like him, Thea didn’t look happy; from her expression, it seemed she was also there to settle a score.

Seeing this, Silas automatically stepped back, making space for the confrontation.

He was in no mood to play mediator, hoping Thea would just hit Sean.

"Are you here to scold me too?" Sean had enough self-awareness to ask.

Thea raised her hand to hit him. Originally, Sean didn’t want to dodge, but seeing the hand aimed at his face, he reached out to stop it.

"Hey." He waved away Thea’s hand with some exasperation, "At least give me some face. If you slap me, how am I supposed to face people later?"

"You still care about face?" Thea laughed angrily, wanting to say more, but when she turned and saw Silas, the words stuck in her throat.

Silas met her gaze for two seconds, not leaving but stepping forward to ask, "Is what he said about Nina looking for you true?"

"I don’t know."

Thea didn’t mean to avoid answering, she genuinely didn’t know if it was true or not.

Silas also didn’t feel like asking Sean, "Alright, I’ll keep an eye out for it when we go back."

"Let’s head back. Be good today, smile more." Silas didn’t want to linger with them any longer.

"Let’s go back; all of us being out here might make the elders worry."

"Okay." Thea replied, giving Sean one last warning by stepping on his foot. In a low voice, she warned, "Watch your mouth today."
