Chapter 1335: Chapter 54: Severing Debts of Favor in Peril, Spiritual Medicine Cannot Fill the Shame Within (Part 2)

Zhang Yan spoke succinctly, "A fellow Daoist is trapped at sea. Come with me to take a trip over there."

Zhang Boyan did not ask any further questions and nodded in agreement.

Seeing Zhang Boyan’s fierce appearance, Wei Daoist felt slightly reassured, realizing his cultivation level was nearing the Nascent Soul Second Realm, and having an extra person increased their chances.

Zhang Yan walked out of the grand hall with the two companions, and upon reaching outside, noticed Song Chuyuan and Limping Daoist standing nearby. He awkwardly glanced at them and asked, "Fellow Daoists, are you here for something?"

Song Chuyuan stepped forward, bowed, and said, "We came without orders, hoping Sect Leader may forgive us. Just saw Daoist Zhang summoned urgently by Pavilion Master, so we suspected something might be happening within the sect and came to assist if needed."

After speaking, he glanced at Wei Daoist.

Zhang Yan replied, "I understand your intentions, fellow Daoists. Daoist Zhang and I will take care of this matter. While I am away, you must guard the sect tightly."

Both immediately responded, "We respect the dharma decree."

Wei Daoist secretly felt startled. Despite inviting more than ten Nascent Soul cultivators for this mission, mostly due to connections established by her senior brother during travels, gathering individuals from the four corners of East Victory is no small feat. Still, in this remote corner of Divine House Mountain, there are already four Nascent Soul cultivators, comparable to those of Little Cang Realm.

After leaving the mountain gate, Wei Daoist mounted Boqi Ma, pulled the reins, and soared into the sky.

Looking back, she saw Zhang Yan wielding a sword rainbow, flying through the air, while Zhang Boyan transformed into a swirling yellow smoke, silently and swiftly moving alongside her. The speed of his escape technique astounded her.

All three moved swiftly, and soon reached the sea. All they saw was overcast skies, dense fog blocking the sun, everything white as far as the eye could see, with only the sound of waves crashing against the shore.

Wei Daoist’s face revealed a worried expression. Upon her initial exit, she went north and didn’t sense anything wrong, but now, as clouds linger, it might be dangerous to recklessly rush in without careful observation.

In her hesitation, Zhang Yan said, "Opponents are hard to find. Entering like this will surely fall into their trap. I have a Thunder Skill that can disperse this technique."

Wei Daoist now dared not underestimate him and quickly said, "That sounds great, Sect Leader Zhang, please use your spell."

Zhang Yan reached out, performing a spell, as three Gang Clouds churned above, releasing a Purple Qi soaring to Cloud Peak.

Meanwhile, deep within the sea, the silver light protecting everyone was growing sparse. Though Wei Daoist had only left before for less than an hour, Elder Xing felt time dragging painfully.

Impatient individuals were ready to burst forth, fearing Wei Daoist might abandon them. Luckily, Elder Xing’s reputation held sway, continuously calming those eager to escape, though sweat dotted his brow, doubting if rescue would arrive in time, forcing him to take risks.

As desperation mounted, a sudden loud noise erupted outside, thunderous rumbles echoed, and the sea beneath trembled incessantly, soon the dense smoke appeared to dissipate.

Zeng Conglun, quickest to react, shouted excitedly, "Wei Daoist certainly found help, fellow cultivators, let’s charge out together."

Everyone noticed the fog thinning, the unseen adversary seemed ready to retreat, knowing allies await outside, their courage surged, each summoned their Dharma Treasure, launching tunneling light, following Zeng Conglun’s lead, rushing outward.

At first, there were streaks of Thunder Light in the surroundings, but they weren’t formidable. Striking protective Dharma Treasures barely caused harm, invigorating everyone further. Witnessing a glimmer of sunlight ahead, escape seemed in reach, they shouted triumphantly, quickened their tunneling light, soon felt unburdened, and all around was the outside. Finding themselves unexpectedly free, they exclaimed, "Did we escape just like that?"

Zeng Conglun caught his breath and said, "Perhaps realizing the situation was unfavorable, the enemy wisely retreated."

Everyone nodded, this being the only explanation. Even a Nascent Soul Third Realm cultivator, under such encirclement, could not prevail. Neither side was sworn enemies, and with no certain victory, retreating seemed logical.

Elder Xing, before rejoicing, scanned the surroundings, spotting three tunneling lights approaching. Among them, one rider was clearly Wei Daoist, who hurried forward to greet with respect, "Daoist Wei, you are indeed trustworthy. Without your help, we would have faced dire consequences."

Wei Daoist turned slightly, making space, pointed behind her and said, "This is Sect Leader Zhang of Han Yuan Sect, who greatly helped us in our predicament. His spell pierced the cloudy mist, or we would not have found you all."

Elder Xing looked at Zhang Yan, bowed deeply, and earnestly expressed, "Sect Leader Zhang, though we were strangers before, you came to our rescue, for which I express my gratitude here."

Zhang Yan lifted his hand humbly, smiled, "No need for such formality, fellow Daoist. This is our duty as cultivators."

Everyone else also came forward to express gratitude. Initially intending to exert pressure on Han Yuan Sect, none anticipated needing this person’s rescue, feeling slightly embarrassed and guilty.

Wei Daoist hesitated briefly, then took out a Jade Box from her sachet and handed it to Zhang Yan, saying, "Sect Leader Zhang, I learned you are searching for Spiritual Medicine. I have quality here. After saving many fellow Daoists, I offer this as a token of thanks."

Zhang Yan did not shy away, smiled faintly, accepted it, and said, "Thank you, fellow Daoist."

Seeing his casual acceptance, Wei Daoist thought he might consider it insufficient, fearing disrespect, raised her eyebrows and said, "Sect Leader Zhang, these cannot fully express our gratitude during the crisis. It is inconvenient to offer more now, further recompense will follow later."
