Chapter 527: Chapter 527 : (Extra) Jiang Muchen’s Love Story (11)

Jiang Muchen glared at Liu Chengjiu, and then Head Servant Fan.

"What the hell is wrong with you, wolves?" he snapped. "If benevolence toward your clansmen is not seen as an important trait in Wuyang Palace, this election holds but very little meaning!"

Head Servant Fan cleared his throat.

"Your Highness, it’s not that the wolves do not know how to be benevolent. It’s just that everyone is afraid of offending His Majesty. The entire realm knows about the heavy crime and treason the Liu family committed in the past. Who would dare to extend a helping hand to his ruined pack?"

Jiang Muchen let out a frustrated groan. Head Servant Fan was not wrong. Liu Chengjiu was probably not wrong as well. But then what was the point of allowing the Silver Moon Pack to survive? Might as well execute the entire pack along with Liu Wenyuan and his cronies back then.

Jiang Muchen shot Liu Chengjiu a glare.

In face of upcoming death sentence, one way or another, the omega wolf for once did not bother bowing his head in front of Jiang Muchen anymore.

His eyes blazed with a primal intensity, a wolf’s arrogance radiating from them.

Jiang Muchen scoffed.

Once a wolf, forever a wolf.

He particularly hated wolves with surname Liu. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

But he was also unwilling to see unnecessary bloodshed in front of his eyes.

"Very well," he said through gritted teeth. "You, Liu Chengjiu, take your brother and come back with me to Shuiran Palace."

Head Servant Fan was so shocked that his jaw fell to the ground.

"Your Highness is the wisest and most benevolent palace master this subject has ever known! This subject is grateful to be able to serve Your Highness, even though it is only for one afternoon!"

Irked by the old wolf’s words, Jiang Muchen furrowed his brows at him.

"What are you talking about?"

"That... Well, Your Highness has decided to take Liu Chengjiu as his wife. This is more than anyone in the Silver Moon Pack can ever hope for. This way, Silver Moon Pack will find their place among the wolf clan again."

"..."

Jiang Muchen was rendered speechless by Head Servant Fan’s path of thought.

Oh, crap.

Almost two hours passed by before Head Eunuch Lu received the news.

While sweating profusely, despite his great reluctance at delivering the news, he still ended up dragging his feet to the Heavenly Emperor’s study.

Fortunately, Crown Prince Xie Jianyu was there to quell the Heavenly Emperor’s explosive wrath.

Unfortunately, the Heavenly Emperor was not particularly in a good mood, evident through his refusal at touching even a single pastry served to him.

Head Eunuch Lu bowed as low as possible, his head almost touching the ground.

"Greetings to Your Majesty the Heavenly Emperor, Your Majesty the Crown Prince..."

"What’s up?" Xie Jianshen, leaning against his high seat, asked without taking his eyes from the many petitions on the desk.

"Who is the next Wuyang Palace Master?"

Head Eunuch Lu’s Adam’s Apple bobbed up and down nervously.

"T-that, the war at Wuyang Palace is still going on."

"If the war isn’t over yet, what are you here for?" Xie Jianshen snapped in displeasure.

Head Eunuch Lu fought with the urge to throw himself into the Crystal Jade Pond. It was by means a lot more preferable to Xie Jianshen scorching glare.

"T-that... This servant is here to report that His Highness Shuiran Palace Master Jiang has... has taken an omega back to Shuiran Palace."

This time Xie Jianyu, who was writing a letter next to Xie Jianshen, also raised his head and stared at Head Eunuch Lu in confusion.

"An omega?" He asked with a touch of disbelief.

"An omega wolf?" Xie Jianshen snarled, his displeasure evident.

"Y-yes, Your Majesty."

It would be an understatement to claim that Xie Jianshen was angry.

He was livid.

The tempest of his rage was so powerful that it seemed to shake the very foundations of the room.

Head Eunuch Lu was convinced that Xie Jianshen was about to transform into a dragon then and there to fly over to Shuiran Palace and beat his son up.

Thankfully, and Head Eunuch Lu could not thank the heavens enough, Crown Prince Xie Jianyu was present.

"Big Brother."

Xie Jianyu placed a calming hand on Xie Jianshen’s shoulder, instantly dousing the flames of his anger.

"Calm down. I am sure that Muchen has a good reason for doing so."

Xie Jianshen shot his younger brother a look.

"Little Yu, do you know that he made Qin Yanmei walk through the lion’s enclosure?"

"..."

"That poor omega contracted fever for seven days straight after returning from Shuiran Palace. What good reason do you think Muchen might have this time around?"

"..."

Since Xie Jianyu had no answer to give on his nephew’s behalf, Xie Jianshen rose to his feet and sent a teapot crashing to the ground. The splinters flew in all direction, one missing Head Eunuch Lu’s neck by a hairsbreadth.

"Your Majesty, please calm down!" He shrieked.

All maids and servant dropped to their knees, trembling from fear.

"Big Brother, let me talk to Muchen," Xie Jianyu volunteered. "I will come back with a report regarding the omega wolf."

Xie Jianshen plopped down on his seat and dismissed Xie Jianyu with a hand wave.

"Go," he said. "He better has a good reason for picking an omega wolf over Qin Yanmei. Otherwise, you have my full permission to drag him into the palace dungeon. Maybe he will develop some sense when he chews chicken bones, day in and day out."

Xie Jianyu pulled his lips into a reluctant smile, but he bowed before his elder brother nonetheless.

"Yes," he said. "I shall take my leave now, Big Brother."

Xie Jianyu did not know what to expect when he rode Wangshu over to Shuiran Palace.

A ton of questions flooded his mind as he traversed the sky, wind whipping past his long hair.

It was not like Jiang Muchen wasn’t aware of his mother’s aversion toward the wolves.

Was this reckless behavior worth incurring his mother’s wrath?
