Chapter 522: Liza and Nancy
Although still stupified by the sight, Cal quickly regained his calm and went to stop Liza from beating herself up even more than she had already done.
"That’s enough, both of you," Cal said sternly, immediately causing Liza’s body to freeze and become motionless.
[Maybe don’t use your aura? You are already a Celestial Existence while they are still struggling in the Fourth Realm. Like this you will kill them even without trying.]
’Oh... My bad...’ Cal cleared his throat rather awkwardly and quickly pulled his presence back which he accidentally let out, realizing he really could have hurt Liza and Nancy just now.
After all, while it had only a small chance to happen, it was still possible for one soul to get damaged by the other if both were struggling too much to acquire absolute control over the body.
"Anyways, you two don’t have to suffer from each other for a long while," Cal said with a calm smile, quickly making Liza’s eyes lit up like stars.
"You found the remaining herbs?" Liza asked, her voice brimming with excitement.
"Yeah." Cal nodded and took out a small pill, surprising Liza greatly.
"I know what you are thinking, how did I make the pill if you have the last few ingredients, right?"
Liza nodded.
Cal smiled and explained, "In fact, those herbs are not the ingredients of the Twin Soul Separating Pill. I just gave you their names to make you busy searching for them and avoid battles with other cultivators, but it seems you have found them sooner than I have expected."
Liza’s brows furrowed from a hint of anger. Still, after a few seconds, she just sighed and asked, "I see. When will we start then?"
Cal laughed awkwardly and said, "Let’s go somewhere... more private, shall we? This place is not the right place."
Liza nodded and after she allowed Cal to grab her by the waist watched as they were teleported away, right into a building where an old cultivator, who seemingly was asleep just a second ago, was snapped awake by their sudden appearance.
"We will take one room," Cal stated and nonchalantly threw a bag full of Gold Coins before the being, not caring to count the amount inside.
"Let’s go." Cal gestured at Liza and ignoring the stupefied gaze of the old cultivator brought Liza to one of the rooms that were empty.
Then, once inside he waved his hand and using one of his Power Cores sealed the room away, making sure no one could enter or spy on them from the outside.
[Not like anyone wants to.]
Cal just shrugged at Nova’s statement and once he was beside the bed flicked his finger, bringing out the corpse of the cultivator with a sudden flash that he had brought away from the Fifth Realm.
"What the hell?" Liza’s beautiful face paled and her whole being freaked out as she took backward several steps.
"Hm? What? I have already told you how Khal and I separated our souls. We will be doing the same with you."
"Yeah, but hearing and seeing it personally are two different things. It is gross." Liza said after a nervous swallow.
[So she can cut others into pieces with an indifferent face but gets scared in the face of a corpse? She is truly something else.]
Cal sighed and shook his head helplessly before gesturing at Liza to lay down beside the corps.
Although reluctant, upon seeing Cal’s calm smile Liza had no choice but to take a deep breath and force herself to move and do as se was told.
Shortly after, once she was on the bed, Cal took the pill from his Monarch Ring and handed it over to Liza, "Just eat this and close your eyes. Leave everything else to me and I promise even before you can think about what happened it will be all over."
Liza nodded softly like a scared little girl who was about to get an injection for the first time, which honestly looked the complete opposite of her usual cold facade.
"Good." Cal smiled and gently opened Liza’s mouth with his thumb, who with a rosy face obediently opened her mouth and allowed him to place the pill into her mouth.
Then, once it was in her mouth, she swallowed it, immediately causing a sharp pain to assault her whole body, one that felt as if something inside him wished to twist and rip her apart.
"Don’t fight it, just relax." Cal went to hold Liza’s hand as he said with a soothing voice, to which Liza seemed to react as while her brows were furrowed from the pain she made herself relax.
"Good girl," Cal whispered and with his other hand went to hold the corps’s cold hand, silently activating his Divine Soul Sutra and slowly using that to transfer Nancy’s soul into her new body.
The process was not easy, not at all. It needed great concentration for Cal and even the slightest distraction could cause permanent damages to both the previous body, which in this case was Liza’s and the soul that was wished to be transferred. This was the main reason why Cal sealed the room away and why he teleported Khal back into the Fifth Realm as this way he could avoid accidents.
Time passed in silence, and slowly, the almost withered skin of the corpse began to recover its smooth and pale state while the hair also began to regain its previous deep black shade.
And just after 30 minutes of intense concentration...
’?!’
Suddenly, the corpse on the bed snapped its eyes wide open and sat up, her chest heaving up and down rapidly while even the last wrinkle on her face vanished.
"It... worked?" the corpse, which now had Nancy’s soul within raised her arms before she used them to touch the horns coming out of her forehead with a dumbfounded look.
Then, as if remembering something, she snapped her head to the side, only to see Cal smiling at him with affection, his eyes already on the verge of getting flooded with tears.
"...Welcome back."
Hearing the soft voice that she believed she will never hear again, tears began to roll down Nancy’s cheeks, and while her body was slowly but surely undergoing changes just like how it happened in Cal’s case, she jumped into his embrace and let out everything she kept so far in her heart.
