Chapter 479: Bracelet Upgrade
’I-Impossible!!’ crying inwardly from both fear and shock, the man tried to struggle out of Hale’s power but was scared to find out he couldn’t!
Not only that, but even his connection to his powers within his body felt locked away, and could only watch as his body was slowly pulled toward Hale’s figure.
"Fuck this!" the man cursed out loud and without any further ado raised his left hand and bit it firmly.
Hale and Khal were confused by this sudden act, but it was not even a second before they saw a sight not even in their wildest dream could have imagined.
Once the man’s teeth bit through his skin and flesh, the blood which flowed out of it instead of trickling down onto the ground suddenly began to float and swirl around his body counterclockwise.
Upon seeing this unknown phenomenon, Hale narrowed his eyes and quickly teleported before the man. However, shockingly, the moment he appeared before him the blood swirling around the man shrunk, and in less than a millisecond it engulfed the man before causing his body to vanish into thin air!
"?!"
Khal, just like Hale was left speechless and felt stupefied, which only became even deeper and greater when both of them activated their tracking abilities only to find not even the slightest presence of the mysterious man!
[What the hell was that? Teleportation through... blood? That makes no sense at all!]
Nova was confused and a little freaked out despite her being someone with a huge amount of experience and enough knowledge to recognize various skills and techniques just by a single glance.
Even Hale, an immortal cultivator that lived for several eons was lost despite his knowledge about abilities being as vast as all the seven Realms put together!
"He was a Realm Walker, right?" Khal walked beside Hale as the pressure on his body long ago vanished, "He must have had a unique treasure or advanced technology fused into his blood which allowed him to teleport."
"That was no teleportation." Hale shook his head as he crouched down and picked up a small, thin, and square-shaped steel slab that looked like to be a chip of a computer.
"Teleportation is when one uses space to travel from one point to another. Such an act usually creates ripples within space which can be detected directly before and after the teleportation."
He then looked at the spot where the man vanished into thin air and added, "However, he did not teleport. I made sure to watch the entirety of the Fourth Realm when he activated his power in case he wanted
to teleport, but he did not appear anywhere within the Fourth Realm."
"Then, does that mean what he has just done was..." Khal realized what Hale wished to say to which the Lord of all the existing Realms nodded.
"Yeah. That weird ability probably was the way these Realm Walkers could jump from one world to another." Hale said calmly but not with confidence as that just now was a guess and nothing else.
"Anyways, it seems we can’t do anything about it so let’s deal with what we have at the moment." Hale said and extended his hand holding the chip toward Khal, "Do you have any idea what this thing could be?"
Khal looked at the chip and was ready to shake his head, but just as he did his bracelet lit up and a voice that only he could hear appeared in his head.
[Artifact Chip detected!]
[Activating Magnetism and starting Enhancement Protocol!]
Whoosh!
Khal raised a brow in puzzlement but soon watched as the chip from Hale’s hand suddenly flew into his bracelet and quickly started to melt into it!
And at the same time as it did, a feeling akin to getting his hand chopped down assaulted him, forcing his face to contort into a painful grimace.
"Urgh..."
Hale watching as Khal fell to his knees frowned and quickly waved his hand to help the pain within Khal’s body to vanish.
"T-Thank you..." Khal mumbled with scarcely pale face and watched as slowly but surely the chip melted into his bracelet.
[Artifact Chip successfully installed!]
[Enhancment Protocol: Completed]
"It seems that chip did something to my bracelet," Khal exclaimed calmly while he twisted his right hand left and right, his eyes focused on the bracelet.
"Can you check what?" Hale asked while his eyes flickered with a gentle golden light, seemingly because he has just activated an unknown power.
Khal hummed and tried to see what changed within his bracelet, but he seemed to notice nothing weird at all.
All his Statues were the same nor did it seem that any new features had been added to it.
"This is strange... What exactly did that chip do?" Khal mumbled with puzzlement but no matter how much he was thinking he could not come up with any answers.
Hale sighed softly as he seemed to understand that he would get no answers, or at least not at this moment, hence after pondering silently for seconds he said, "Let’s keep looking around. Perhaps while we do, you will be able to figure out what change happened to your bracelet."
Khal sighed helplessly and with a silent nod began to follow after Hale, checking out sites within the Realm Walkers’ headquarters that they had yet to explore.
And just like that, nearly six hours have passed by with Khal still unable to find out what that chip did to his bracelet.
"It seems there is nothing else here that would be worth wasting our time," Hale stated the obvious and teleported both of them outside empty space with the massive construction visible in the distance.
"And will we just leave that whole thing here?" Khal asked, but he didn’t have to wait for a long time to get his answer as Hale snapped his finger which akin to a signal detonated the whole establishment into dust and ashes, creating powerful ripples in the space and sending shockwaves through the planet all the way up to its surface!
