Chapter 466: Soul Separation (2-Last)
Crimson Blood City was completely different from the cities Khal had visited and seen throughout his life.
Back in the First and especially in the Second Realm, the streets of every city were full of beings, each minding their own business with vigor. Life could be said to be present in every corner and one could easily sense it even with one’s eyes closed!
However, this was not the case at all here in Crimson Blood City.
The streets were literally empty with barely any beings seen walking on them. Trash and junk were almost everywhere while the smell of blood lingered in the air. As for the buildings on the sides, because of their old and almost demolished appearance and the unoccupied interior they looked rather haunted.
[I have completely forgotten just how depressing life within the Fourth Realm truly is.]
’Out of all the existing Realms the Fourth Realm is where death literally rules over everything hence such a scenery and atmosphere is simply inevitable.’ Khal thought in his heart before stopping before a small building with a rusty sign placed above its entrance.
’Crimson Blood Tavern... Although it looks a little like a residence from a horror movie, it will be good enough for a single night.’ Khal thought before opening the entrance door and walking inside.
Then, once inside he succeeded in reserving a room for 500 Gold Coins, which once again was a ridiculous amount for one night especially as the room only had a single bed and a chair without any bathroom, he walked toward the bed in the middle.
"Well, at least this is better than nothing." Khal calmly walked over to the bed and sat down.
Or at least wished to sit down, but the moment he placed his weight down on it the whole thing cracked and collapsed into pieces.
"Guess I will cultivate on the ground then," Khal said to himself with the same usual calm expression of his and quickly sat down on the floor before starting to cultivate.
’Let’s see...’ seeping his consciousness into the deepest part of his mind, Khal quickly searched for the Divine Soul Sutra which he found in less than five seconds, and started to read through its contents once again.
Of course, the reason why he didn’t summon it into his hands despite having the chance was that there was no need for it. Now that the Divine Soul Sutra became his Hidden Talent, alas a part of his body, he could easily gain access to it and the knowledge within it whenever and wherever he wanted!
’Found it!’ after reading the Divine Soul Sutra for close to thirty minutes in silence, Khal finally found what he wanted.
’Soul Separation... If what is written in this scroll is true, if I follow the steps I will be able to separate my soul from this body and take control over another.’
’However, it also explains that only a body which either has died or has a damaged soul can be possessed by me. Furthermore, if I choose the first option, it is also possible for me to gain the memories of the one who has already died!’
[And what will happen with this body once your soul leaves it?]
’It mentions nothing about that. But considering this body has another soul within, the real Khal’s soul, I am pretty sure once my own leaves he will be able to regain control once again.’
[And what about your bracelet and the powers you have collected through the years? Especially the Divine Soul Sutra?]
’According to the information here, the Divine Soul Sutra will follow the soul into the new body during the Soul Separation process. As for the bracelet... While it does not speak about it, after all, why would it, I have a rough guess it will remain in the hands of the real Khal.’
Once Khal has said those words, Nova fell into silence unknown what she was thinking.
As for Khal, he decided to memorize the steps that were necessary for the Soul Separation for half a day before lying down on the ground and falling into a deep slumber.

Three days later...
After sleeping for three days straight like a rock, Khal finally opened his eyelids and sat up slowly.
"...That... felt incredibly good! I can’t even remember when I have slept so well." standing up after a big yawn Khal stretched his sore limbs and decided to fill his stomach in one of the restaurants in the city.
However, it seemed it was a bad idea as the food in Crimson Blood City was not only insanely expensive but also little in the amount and almost inedible!
’Sigh... I guess I will have to hunt some beasts and cook for myself... Great...’ Khal sighed in his heart and without wasting his time he left Crimson Blood City.
Of course, before he began his hunt he decided to find a small lake in the proximity and take a quick bath.
However, what he didn’t expect to see the moment he found a small hill with a river fall was that it was already occupied by someone, and by a breathtakingly gorgeous individual.
Long, waist-long brown hair, flawless snow-white skin, and a slim and curvaceous figure which at this moment was fully naked, capable of captivating any men’s heart just by a single glance!
However, although the woman who seemed to be in her early thirties was naked Khal’s focus was not on her body which held two pairs of gold wings that glowed with gentle golden light!
’She is a Lightkin.’ Khal immediately recognized the race from which the woman hailed.
However, it was not even a second after he thought those words when the woman suddenly opened her eyelids, revealing a pair of golden eyes before shifting them toward his direction despite him being several miles away!
[Hehe, you have been caught red-handed. Now you are in big trouble.]
Khal just shook his head silently before vanishing from his spot and appearing at the edge of the small pond where the Lightkin was showering, or at least showered until now before she was forced to stop because of him.
