Chapter 453: A Path That is Impossible to Walk?
"Thanks, that helped a lot... I thought a Celestial Existence such as yourself would have vast knowledge, but seems I was wrong."
[And I thought a being who was able to live two lives would be smart enough not to choose a path so obviously hard, but seems I was wrong.]
"You... If we count the years from my past life and the current time I have spent in this one, I didn’t even live for 21 years in total!"
[In my eyes, even 14 years of life experience would be enough to be able to recognize several things such as what one can or cannot achieve with their current strength.]
[Or wait... did you really think walking a path related to one’s soul will be easy? Not even experts in the Sixth Realm can understand the mysteries of the soul, then why did you think you would be able to!?]
"Do you think I had any other choice?" Khal said now with a slightly raised voice that was filled with annoyance and a little bit of anger, "You know way too well why I have chosen this path, don’t you?"
[That... But you could have decided to choose any other. Several other paths would have been able to help you separate yours and the other Khal’s soul within you from one another. You have chosen the most difficult path of all!]
"Yeah, because while this one is hard to walk, this is also the only one that can give me the ability to safely separate my soul from the real Khal’s!" Khal answered before adding, "Furthermore, if I succeed in mastering this path, I can separate my soul from this body the very moment I reach the Fourth Realm!"
[If even you will be able to reach the Fourth realm!]
Nova said a bit loudly before sighing deeply and continuing, now with a much calmer tone;
[Look, Khal... I don’t want to ruin your mood, but the path you have chosen is an extremely hard one, could be said an impossible one.]
[As I have said this already, you wish to master something that not even those in the Sixth Realm could not comprehend but even can’t come close to mastering 30% of it properly! I would even bet my life on the line that even the Lord of the Seven Realms has not mastered the mysteries of the soul despite living for eons already!]
Khal listened to Nova’s words in silence as he stared at the scroll in his hand with a face that this time held and showed no emotion at all.
[Let me ask you this then. If you would have decided to choose the Path of the Celestial Sword, a path that almost every third cultivator has chosen, where would have you been teleported then?]
"According to the Records of All Realms, once a cultivator decides to choose the Path of the Celestial Sword they will be teleported into a faction known as the Celestial Sword Sect where they can learn and master the way of swords."
[Exactly. That means, in that sect, there are thousands if not tens or hundreds of thousands of disciples! Then let me ask this then; How come there is no one here? Why can’t I see anyone else except you on this mountain top, huh?]
"That..." Khal’s eyes widened slightly before he closed them slowly and let out a deep sigh that held various emotions, "Because no one chose to walk the Path of the Divine Soul."
[And why is that?]
"Because it is a path that no one wishes to walk as it is literally impossible to master."
[It seems you have understood. Then have you finally realized what a big mistake it was to choose this path?]
Khal opened his eyelids with the same speed he closed them, and once his gaze fell on the scroll a determined and serious glint flashed in his eyes before he shook his head.
"No, I didn’t because I have done no mistake. I made the right choice and even if I would be given the chance to go back and start all over again, I would still choose the same gate!"
[You... Sigh, whatever. Do whatever you want, just make sure you won’t come and cry to me when even a few decades later you will be still at the Initial Mastery Level.]
"You don’t have to worry, I won’t." Khal showed a confident smile and without further ado sat down on the floor in a lotus position and started to read the words in the scroll.
However, just as before, not even after reading the first three letters in the scroll immense pain pierced the inner parts of his body, forcing him to stop reading and drop the scroll out of his hands.
"If you think pain like this will be enough to stop me from reading, you are really underestimating me!" Khal said once he calmed down, and without further ado activated several of his Power Cores.
[Power Core ’Power Blessing’ active!]
[Power Core ’Rejuvenating Light’ active!]
[Power Core ’Overall Endurance Enhancement’ active!]
[Power Core ’Emperor Sense’ active!]
Four abilities, each of them helping Khal in a supportive means one way or another.
His Power Blessing is capable of boosting his cultivation base and physical strength, including his resistance.
His Rejuvenating Light can heal any type of wounds or injuries on and inside the body until they won’t cause immediate death! According to the information that flooded his mind, Khal was happy to see that it could even generate lost limbs if it were given the time!
As for his Overall Endurance Enhancement and his Emperor Sense, the former raised both his physical and spiritual resistance by at least five times while the latter helped him in numerous ways such as it enhanced all his senses, it increased his focus while decreasing the pain he felt, and granted him a so-called seventh sense that allowed him to feel lurking danger in his proximity!
However, even with these exceptionally useful powers, the number of words Khal was able to read was less than ten before he was forced to drop the scroll from his hands and clench his chest as if he had been just stabbed by a sword in the heart!
