Chapter 437: Moon Sect’s Founder
"Okay, that is enough for now. Everyone, calm down." a voice that was calm but held firmness appeared in the air, quickly freezing everyone around Khal motionless.
Just a few moments ago, everyone became crazy and tried to approach Khal with different motives, but that completely changed just after a few words that seemed to possess some unique power that influenced both the body and mind.
Even Khal felt himself getting affected by the strange power, but thankfully one of his newly acquired Power Core which was formed out of Life Essence allowed him to free himself from the weird and unknown power just in time!
As for the name of the core, it was called Spirit Shield and it worked slightly similar to Cagrown’s nullification ability with the sole exception that his Spirit Shield can only nullify those abilities that are weaker than him in cultivation.
"Haha, just as Lin Lin told me, you are quite an interesting fellow." the voice resounded in the air once again, and under the calm gaze of Khal, a figure appeared out of nowhere and stood before him.
This individual surprisingly, had quite a few similarities to Senior Lin but as he was a male while Senior Lin was a female it was rather hard to spot them. The only reason Khal was able to spot them was that his memory was not so bad and he had spent quite a few days with Senior Lin to discern the similarities between her and the man in front of him.
’No question about it, he is his brother.’ Khal thought in his heart as he watched how the man examined him from to bottom with eyes as if he wished to learn all his secrets.
"Yeah, just as Lin Lin mentioned, although you are quite young you emit the presence of a genius. No wonder my sect was able to prosper in the past few weeks. It is all thanks to you." the man smiled gently but when he noticed his indifferent gaze on Khal his mouth turned into a small O and quickly said, "Oh, my deepest apology, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Hao Yu, the founder of Moon Sect and also as you have already figured out the brother of Lin Lin."
"I see. Nice to meet you." Khal bowed politely before looking at the still frozen disciples around him with a somewhat confused look.
"Oh, don’t worry about them. In a few minutes, they will be able to move. So, before that shall we go? If it is not a problem, I wish to speak with you a little longer." Hao Yu spoke calmly and when he saw how Khal nodded he smiled and saved his hand.
"Where are we?" watching as they were inside a small room where only a small bed and a wooden table with two chairs on its two sides were seen, Khal asked calmly.
"This is my ’residence’ if you can call it as such. In truth, we are below the center of the sect." Hao Yu explained as he grabbed a small pot from the table and poured tea into two cups, one for him and one for Khal.
"Below the small hill?" Khal asked and used his Heaven’s Eyes, only to see they were indeed underground just below the hill where Senior Lin and the other Elders were cultivating.
"Oh? Another unique Blessing? Lin Lin told me you possess more than two, but seeing it in person and for the first time is truly shocking." Hao Yu exclaimed with slight surprise as he sat down on one of the chairs and picked the cup of tea up from the table. Then, with a friendly smile, he gestured at Khal to sit down.
Khal deactivated his Heaven’s Eyes and with a slight nod sat down, even grabbing the cup from the table and taking a small sip from the tea in it.
"Oh? Honey Bee Leaf and Rain Hyssop?" Khal asked with surprise once he felt the free and sweet taste in his mouth.
"So you can identify them? You have a pretty good taste, I see."
"Oh, no I do not have. I can only recognize these two because I usually use these two when I make tea during the mornings." Khal showed a somewhat awkward smile as he let out a chuckle.
"So that is why." Hao Yu nodded with understanding and after taking another sip from the tea he placed the cup down and asked, "Anyways, something else than teas and herbs, why did you decide to join the Moon Sect? No, an even greater question should be why did you decide to help my sect grow to such a point where it can easily rival even those bigger sects like the Blood Wolf Sect, Storm Tortoise Sect, or Golden Sword Sect? I was trying to find answers, but in the end, I couldn’t, so tell me... Why?"
Khal placed the cup down on the table when he heard the question of Hao Yu and with a confident look he said, "Because that is what I have decided to do."
The answer was simple, so simple that not even Hao Yu believed to receive such a randy. However, soon he smiled but not because he found Khal amusing, but because just from that brief response alone he figured out the real motive behind Khal and the person he was.
"I see. How interesting." Hao Yu nodded and after raising his cup to the level of his mouth he asked, "Then I wonder if you can tell a little more about yourself and the path you have walked until now."
"Sure." Khal nodded and quickly told Hao Yu his past achievements, of course missing out on the part that contained his encounter with Hale and the old lady.
At the start of his tale, Hao Yu was silently listening with only a calm smile present on his face, however the longer he listened the more his complexion changed into awe and the more questions he asked Khal out of curiosity.
And just like that, without any of the two noticing it, several hours have passed.
