Chapter 2139: Trouble Brewing in the Yellow Peak Region

Leaving behind the two wandering cultivators at the Domain Lord Realm who now found themselves pondering over what to do with the opportunity that had been bestowed upon them by Qing Yi, the two made their way back into the forest they had originally landed in.

Not because they didn’t want to travel directly into the Northern Central Region from the small town, but instead because the border this place shared with the Northern Central Region was all territory that had by now fallen to the demonic cultivators of the Frozen Wastelands. The only way for them to find a safe passage to the Northern Central Region that directly avoided the demonic cultivators that would attack them on sight was through the Western Central Region and from what little information they had learnt about their surroundings from the small town, the forest was the fastest and safest path to the Western Central Region.

The forest itself was far from dangerous to the two of them with the strongest monster present within the forest barely reaching the Core Formation Realm according to the information they had managed to gather on the small forest. Far from enough to threaten the two of them, whose strength was already comparable to someone in the Soul Ascension Realm.

Only after crossing the small forest and officially stepping into the Western Central Region would they have to be careful and keep an eye out from the local powers. After all, the Western Central Region wasn’t a place they could move around carelessly with their current strength.

Not to mention the stronger forces that existed throughout the Western Central Region, even the closest power to the small town, the yellow thunder temple, had several old monks above the Soul Ascension Realm and wasn’t a power they could handle coming into conflict with.

At the very least, the information shared by the other wandering cultivators had made it clear that the yellow thunder temple was relatively peaceful and wouldn’t care about others if they didn’t recklessly barge into their temples.

Still, when making one’s way through the Yellow Peak Region, the territory on the other side of the small forest under the control of the Yellow Thunder Temple, one still had to maintain a certain level of cation when dealing with the monks of the Yellow Thunder Temple.

In fact, being cautious when dealing with others wasn’t just for those monks from the Yellow Thunder Temple, but for everyone they ran into, as one would never know if one ran into a wandering monk belonging to one of the major temples that happened to be out on a pilgrimage.

Something that was a common occurrence within the boundaries of the Western Central Region according to the wandering cultivators that had come from the Western Central Region.

Because of this, Qing Yi and Chun Hua had already decided that they would try their best to not interact with too many people after they got to the Yellow Peak Region and would instead focus all their energy towards getting out of the Western Central Region and back into the Northern Central Region.

Knowing that the path they had chosen should be relatively safe and outside the boundaries of any major powers once they got to the Northern Central Region. The only real difficulty on their journey back would be the Western Central Region that they were far less knowledgeable about.

After all, even if they ended up encountering people from one of the Northern Central Region’s major powers, there was a good chance that they wouldn’t dare attack them after realizing they were disciples from the Star Shattering Sect. If anything, they might even lend the two of them a hand in getting back to the sect again.

As the two were pondering over their difficult future journey through the Western Central Region, it didn’t take them long to pass through the small forest that turned out to be even smaller than they had originally anticipated. Taking no more than two hours to pass through- and that was together with them stopping for a few minutes once they ran into the caravan that the wandering blacksmith had been waiting for.

Using the short encounter to learn about the general situation of the Yellow Peak Region. Knowing that this caravan was going to have the most updated news regarding the state of the Yellow Peak Region.

Unfortunately for the two of them, the news they learnt was far from optimistic, as they not only found out that the current Yellow Peak Region was far from peaceful with several large and small bandit groups roaming the mountains, something that had led to the delay of the caravan, but more importantly, they learnt that the local temple was on the brink of collapse.

Apparently, only a few weeks ago, the Yellow Thunder Temple had been attacked by another temple and was already on the brink of collapse.

In the process, the territory under the Yellow Thunder Temple descended into chaos, as forces belonging to their enemies emerged within the mountains alongside large numbers of wandering cultivators who decided to play bandits to take advantage of the chaos to loot the locals or hunt down other wandering cultivators.

The peaceful journey through a mountainous region that Qing Yi and Chun Hua had originally hoped for after they learnt about the Yellow Peak Region was shattered before they had even laid eyes upon the mountain.

But tragic as this outcome was, there was nothing the two could do but advance forward along their original path through the Yellow Peak Region.

After all, though the region had already descended into chaos, it was still far safer than the other potential paths back to the Northern Central Region that they could choose between.

One lead them straight through a forbidden region that had even swallowed up revered senior monks comparable to the Dao Seed Realm, while another path led through the territory of a major temple called the Heavenly Dragon Temple.

Even though the two didn’t know much about this Heavenly Dragon Temple, from what other wandering cultivators had said, it wouldn’t be a good idea to get anywhere near their territory if possible.

Not to mention, even though the Yellow Peak Region had descended into chaos, the strength of those wandering cultivators taking advantage of the situation to pillage the region wasn’t great, with the caravan people describing most bandits as being somewhere between the Core Formation Realm and the Nascent Soul Realm. Hardly strong enough for the two of them to care about with their current strength at the Initial Stage of the Dao Domain Lord Realm.

If anything, while chaotic because of the invasion of an outside temple seeking to expand and take over the territory of the Yellow Thunder Temple, the Yellow Peak Region was still considered safe for the two of them to travel as long as they kept themselves away from the main battlefields between the two temples clashing with each other.

Although it might have originally been difficult to avoid these battlefields given how they had no idea where they were, Qing Yi and Chun Hua figured that it wouldn’t be too hard to sense the clashes taking place from afar and smoothly go around without disturbing the two sides fighting to the death.

As for finding out more about the two temples clashing with each other... Qing Yi couldn’t care less, and Chun Hua wasn’t too interested either. Only wanting to get back to the sect and resume her study of the Dao of Alchemy alongside Qing Yi. Vowing to not leave the sect anytime soon, once she got back.

Like this, the two soon enough found themselves following a narrow mountain path through the Yellow Peak Region. Neither of them daring to fly around recklessly. Understanding that doing so might very well draw unwanted attention from one of the two temples currently fighting to the death.

And along with Chun Hua and Qing Yi officially starting their long journey back to sect after being launched outside the Northern Central Region by the defensive measures put in place by their master, a week soon flew by...

"Finally got to the end of this damnable endless staircase!" During which, their master finally reached the end of the seemingly endless staircase he had been flying up for over a week by this point in time. Finding himself unable to stop himself from silently cursing the ascension tower because of how torturous the design for travelling between floors was.

Without relying on the Dao of Space and the Dao of Light to travel, he feared that a normal Late Stage Land Creation Realm cultivator might take months- if not years to travel between floors once they got to a certain height within the ascension tower, a reality that elders and disciples alike were already starting to feel as they began reaching higher and higher floors within the ascension tower over time.

Although... They were still far from reaching a floor with the kind of terrifying distance like the one that existed between the twenty eighth and twenty ninth floor of the tower...
