Chapter 217: Rock, Paper, Scissors Our Fates, Love
[FROLO]
The cold morning and rain outside did nothing to quieten the bickering duo in a kitchen at a residence in the city. They had woken up earlier than they were used to, and clearly, they were bound to wake up everyone else in this residence.
"The instructions say three spoons."
"He likes it with one spoon."
"Are you trying to preach coffee lessons when you’ve never made a proper one?"
"Just because I don’t know how to do it doesn’t mean I don’t read the instructions."
"Rock, paper, scissors to decide."
"That’s not fair, you always win rock, paper, scissors."
"One and a half a spoon then."
"It’s easier to add more than to remove more."
"Oh, you’re unbelievable."
"Go back to sleep."

"I wanna be the first face he sees when he wakes up."
"That would be the senator, stupid."
"Fine. One spoon it is then."
"Oh, you litt—"
"If you both don’t shut the fuck up, I promise you sugar portions for Romanov are going to be the least of your problems," an irritated voice sounded from the couch in the living room.
"Sorry, Miss Anya," the duo in the kitchen said as they glared at each other like that was supposed to make the situation any better.
At the kitchen door stood an amused senator who had been watching the chaos for a while now.
It had been long since his kitchen had this much life, and frankly, as dangerous as everyone in his house was right now, they needed the noise.
Especially after yesterday.

[YESTERDAY]
The surviving senators sat in a conference room across the city and away from the exploded Senate. They all had the same focus: logistics and making sure things were working well.
They also had a TV running in the background as they tried to figure out what was happening.
Then the confession happened, and the room stiffened for a moment.
"Senator Aleksandr... Isn’t that... Your boyfriend, they’re talking about?" one of the senators asked.
Alek shifted his focus to the screen and then to the headline and the confession.
He increased the volume, like this couldn’t be real. He could see the dead people in scrubs and white coats, not to mention the four who were talking about something.
Then he heard it.
"Mr. Romanov is in perfect condition to bear a child. Has always been. We apologize for letting ourselves be bought... for every pregnancy we destroyed, for every child we stole from him before they could even properly develop, and for the anniversary miscarriage that left him in the hospital for weeks."
Alek stilled.
Katya...
So, he dialed Svet while the confession continued...
"We were only told that none of the children were ever meant to survive. We were greedy, and we apologize for everything we took from him," the medics confessed.
On the other side of the city, in an office that had the worst of mercenaries and the largest bout of insanity, a phone rang.

"It’s the senator," Svetlana said, staring at Sergei.
She wasn’t asking for his permission, but for a man who had flattened the Senate for their friend, they could at least know if this was something that made sense.
"He should know. He’s Solnyshka’s alpha," Sergei said simply, like he was talking about the weather.
The necks in the room turned to him faster than anyone had ever heard. The way they stared at him like they had just figured the apocalypse wasn’t even over.
"Boy genius says what now?" Anya said as she stared at Sergei.
The same Sergei who spent his night stalking Katya and making sure Katya slept well. The man who had baptized Katya as his omega and had done despicable things for the omega over the last decade.
Now he was talking about the senator being the omega’s alpha?
"He’s the boyfriend," Sergei shrugged.
Svet sighed before she clicked on receive and set the phone to speaker mode. She didn’t have to remind the people in the room what this meant because they stayed dead silent, like it was just Svetlana in the room and with the phone.
"Svet... My... My little rose..." Alek said on the other end, and Sergei’s chair creaked, turning everyone’s attention to him.
Anya grabbed the broom from under the couch they were seated on and pointed it at Sergei as if to remind him that he had agreed to this shit.
And Sergei...
The alpha pouted as he listened to Svet talk to Alek and give Alek a brief of what had happened.
"I’m coming for him," Alek said, and the glass cup that was on Sergei’s desk was suddenly on its way down.
If it wasn’t for Andre’s quick reflexes, the man would have known that there were more people in that darn room. But would it change shit right now?
"We’re at Moskowsky Holdings," Svetlana said, and Sergei grumbled lowly, making Anya remove her sandal and point it at the man.
"He can come," Sergei mouthed begrudgingly.
"I’ll be there. Is Mr. Moskowsky in?" Alek asked, and the room turned to the barbarian who was glaring daggers at everyone, suddenly like it wasn’t his idea to keep the meeting going.
"He’s finalizing a meeting, but he’ll probably be here when you come. Andre and I are on the executive floor. See you then, senator," Svet said, and Alek mumbled a thanks before the phone call ended.
Then they turned to the barbarian who had suddenly gone back to sitting like a good law-abiding citizen, not a menace that had almost given them a heart attack.
"You won’t raise my blood pressure, you little rat," Anya said, throwing her slipper at Sergei, and he ducked, thus turning the mad man’s office into a fight between Anya’s slippers and the barbarian.
If the elevator didn’t ding a second time, the barbarian would have gone home with more bruises than the sandals that had been used to hit him. The same sandals that Anya demanded he return to her each time, only for her to smack him again.
"The senator is here," Svet said, still shocked that the big bad barbarian was taking his punishment from Anya like a petulant child who was being disciplined with grace.
Andre, on the other hand, looked amused as fuck. He had been giving commentaries the entire time Anya was torturing Sergei.
Rahim and Volkov, on the other hand, just watched like this was normal for them. They were not even the least bit surprised anymore.

"Fix your darn hair and don’t you dare give me a heart attack again," Anya scolded.
Sergei sighed before he straightened up.
"The floor is cold," the alpha said as he stepped from behind his desk, the sandals in his hands, before he bent down to Anya’s feet and put the sandals on her feet.
And Anya...
She fixed Sergei’s hair while he was putting the sandal on her feet.
"You okay?" she asked.
Svetlana couldn’t help but snort at that.
"Yup."
"Sergei... gimme your gun."
"I won’t kill the senator..."
"Sergei Vladimirovich Moskowsky."
"Fine. It’s only just six bullets in there anyway," the alpha whined before handing over his gun to Anya, who returned it to Sergei’s desk before they all stepped out of the office.
