Chapter 61: Chapter 61

Ray sat there quiet in front of the camera, face staying calm while his brain was spinning like crazy. "What the hell is this? This is straight cap," he thought to himself. Asmoldking was just casually claiming the grandma in the video was his own grandma, with the exact same dizzy and hot-head story. Ray knew it was god-tier bullshit, but he didn’t call it out. He just let Asmoldking keep rolling with it, lowkey enjoying how unhinged the whole conversation was getting.

Asmoldking went back to reading comments and shutting down the ones still screaming "skit" and "staged," then let out a long sigh before turning to Ray.

"Ray, I wanna ask you something deeper. Before that global butt-slapping thing at the gym yesterday... or during that viral butt-grabbing video, did you feel the same kind of shit? Like dizzy, heat in your head, anything like that?"

Ray looked straight into the camera. He knew this was the moment to lean all the way into the bit. He nodded slow, voice coming out a little unsure, like he was digging through his memory.

"Uh... now that you mention it, yeah. I felt mad sleepy. Body felt super heavy, like there was a weight sitting on my head. Just wanted to crash for the whole day. And like everybody else... I don’t even really remember the details until it blew up and everyone started talking about it. Only after that I was like, ’Damn, this shit’s weird.’"

Chat went absolutely feral. Thousands of comments flooding in within seconds. Some saying "this is mass hypnosis," others "Ray’s sensitive to negative energy," and a bunch just straight-up going "aliens doing experiments again."

Asmoldking grinned hard, eyes lighting up ’cause the topic was getting spicy.

"Bro, this is getting crazy. Y’all imagine if this is some ultra max project? Or like... there’s some massive hypnosis wave happening and nobody even notices? Everybody suddenly gets sleepy, starts doing weird shit in public, then forgets until it goes viral?"

Ray played right along, voice low but sounding mysterious on purpose.

"Or... what if it’s 5th dimension beings? Or aliens running tests on Earth? Maybe they’re just collecting data on how humans react to certain triggers."

Asmoldking laughed but didn’t shut it down. He actually jumped in more hyped.

"You’re wild, Ray. But the crazy part is... I can’t even fully deny it. ’Cause the comments coming in, mad people saying the same thing. Some felt super heavy sleepy right before it happened, others felt like ’something was off in the air.’ And now you’re saying you felt it too."

Ray was dying laughing in his head. He knew he was stacking lie on top of lie, but he wasn’t stopping. If anything, he was enjoying dragging these half-delusional people even deeper.

Then Asmoldking read a longer comment and his voice shifted a little more serious.

"Damn, this one’s from my top spender. He said: ’Bro, I felt that heavy sleepiness before the butt-slapping thing too. And I’m from the same city as the mall in Ray’s viral video. When I went to that mall, I felt the exact same shit Ray described. Body heavy, wanted to sleep, then right after I realized something was off.’"

Ray heard that and immediately thought, "Another yapper. But fuck it... let’s take it even further."

He nodded slow, keeping his tone calm and a little lost.

"Hmm... guess I’m not the only one tuned into whatever this is."

Asmoldking nodded like he just got confirmation from God.

"Exactly. Doesn’t rule out that people who are sensitive to this might be scattered all over the world. Maybe certain people got more sensitive ’receivers.’ Could be genetics... or maybe they were already chosen."

Chat went even more insane. Some people joking about the "5D sensitive squad," others deadass asking if they were included too, and a few straight-up saying this was a sign of the end times.

Ray stayed sitting there with a blank face, but inside he was cracking the fuck up. He’d just successfully steered the whole convo into even more absurd territory, and people were eating it up with full enthusiasm—including Asmoldking, who now looked like he actually believed this wasn’t just some regular viral video anymore.

The podcast was getting hotter by the second. And Ray... was deep in character, happily fooling all these people who were losing their minds over a phenomenon he made up.

----

Ray leaned back in his chair, camera still rolling, but the podcast energy had already started slowing down. Asmoldking checked the clock on the screen, then looked back at Ray with a big-ass grin.

"Bro, before we wrap this up... you got any other socials besides X? ’Cause a bunch of people keep asking, tryna follow you more."

Ray went quiet for a second. His brain was spinning fast. This was his shot. He didn’t wanna just be some topic they talked about. He wanted control. Face all neutral, voice chill as fuck, he answered on impulse.

"Yeah. I just made a streaming account. Not official yet, but it’s ready. Planning to go live real soon."

Asmoldking’s eyebrows shot up, looking mad interested.

"Streaming? Damn, that’s fire. What you streaming?"

Ray didn’t even think. Mouth just moved before his brain could catch up.

"Chatting about supernatural shit... or playing horror games. Y’know, casual vibes."

Asmoldking let out a little laugh, but he was clearly feeling it.

"Matches that weird sensitivity you showed earlier. People gonna fuck with that. You really got a different vibe, Ray. When you start streaming, hit me up, aight? I’ll promo you."

Ray just gave a thin smile. In his head he was laughing all cynical again. "Aight, let’s fucking go then."

Podcast wrapped not long after. Asmoldking hit his usual sign-off, chat still going crazy, camera cut.

Ray leaned all the way back. Room dead quiet. Lights low. He stared at the ceiling for a minute, then dragged both hands down his face rough as hell.

"Fuck... I think I yapped too much," he muttered. But he shook his head right after. "Whatever. This phenomenon’s still in my hands. They’re the ones jumping on, not me following them."

Outside was pitch black now. Ray was about to stand up when his phone buzzed. Sonya’s name lit up.

He answered.

"Hello?"

"Ray! Holy shit, you’re famous now, huh." Sonya sounded hyped as fuck.

Ray just chuckled. "Yeah haha..."

Sonya skipped the small talk completely.

"But don’t forget we got that date tomorrow. I already got everything planned. I’m picking you up at 6 with the car. Then we’re hitting this special spot. You just gotta come with."

Ray paused, confused. "What special spot—"

"Secret for now," Sonya cut him off quick. "Just be ready by 6. Don’t be late. Cool?"

"Uh... yeah," Ray said, still half-lost.

"Good. Night, Ray. Don’t forget to sleep enough."

Call ended before he could even ask more.

Next morning Ray woke up with weird-ass energy. Normally he hated getting out of bed, but today felt different. He grabbed his phone immediately and opened his socials. Mentions and DMs were stacked. People asking shit like:

"When’s the live, Ray?"

"When you opening the streaming channel?"

"Live tomorrow? Wanna hear your supernatural stories."

"Schedule for this week?"

Ray just smirked to himself while still chilling in bed. "Damn... shit’s really popping off."

But that chill feeling disappeared the second he opened his private messages. There was a long-ass text from the number saved as "Mia Gym". The milf he used to smack on the ass when she pissed him off.

Message said:

"Ray, I finally get it now. You really weren’t being a creep at my gym. It was just some weird phenomenon. If you wanna work, you can come back as a janitor. Or if you don’t feel like it, you can stop by the gym this weekend. I wanna talk... and I feel bad."

Ray read it twice. Eyebrows up.

"What the fuck is this milf on? Weird as hell..." he thought. He stared at the screen for a bit, thumb not moving yet. In his head it was spinning: Or is she actually sorry? Or... she got some other motive?

He felt kinda amused by that "come back as janitor" part. With where he was at now, he could pull way more money than cleaning some sweaty-ass gym.

Ray slid his phone to the side and stared at the ceiling again. A little smirk crept on his face.

"Today’s just getting started," he said quietly. "And it looks like..." he scratched his dick, still rock hard with morning wood, "I gotta get my lick back on Mia for all that yapping she used to do putting me down..."

Ray let out a short laugh while still lying in bed, shaking his head at how ridiculous everything felt. "Man... this shit’s actually happening," he muttered to himself.

His stomach growled loud as hell right after. He was starving. He sat up and rubbed his face, suddenly feeling like a complete idiot. He hadn’t gone grocery shopping in forever. Every damn day he just ordered food or ate out somewhere, so now he had to keep walking back and forth to the apartment just to grab breakfast like some broke loser. What a waste of time and energy.

"Fuck it," he mumbled, getting out of bed. "I’m just going out."

He threw on a hoodie and some joggers, didn’t even bother fixing his messy hair, and headed downstairs. The elevator ride was quick. He stepped out into the lobby still half-distracted, scrolling on his phone.

Then someone suddenly yanked the back of his hoodie.

Ray stopped and turned around, eyebrows already furrowed.

Standing there was the cute girl from yesterday. She looked a little nervous but was clearly trying to act brave.

She was holding her phone tightly in one hand, like she didn’t want to drop it.

She looked up at him and said, voice slightly shaky,

"Um... can we talk for a bit?"
