Chapter 60: Chapter 60

"Tomorrow... Friday?" His mind went straight into chaos mode. He’d completely spaced on it. Between all the viral videos blowing up, the unhinged comments making everyone freak out about "God’s warning," and prepping for tonight’s podcast, the date he promised Sonya had almost flown right out of his head.

He still felt kinda weird about it. Sonya actually remembered their date.

Like she really wanted it but didn’t wanna admit it.

Even though Ray remembered full well that Sonya used to have that big ego.

Ray let out a slow breath, keeping his voice chill.

"Yeah, I remember. Tomorrow’s good then."

On the other end, Sonya lit up. Her voice got all bubbly as she went on about how she "couldn’t wait" and probably threw out the spot and time for their date. Ray just nodded along, even as that wave of disgust hit him in the chest and wouldn’t go away.

Sonya’s fetish was... off. Ray was never comfortable with it. But whatever, that MILF still did it for him.

"Aight, we’ll talk more later," Ray said finally. "I’m swamped right now."

Sonya said yeah, still hyped, then hung up.

Ray tossed his phone on the bed and shook his head. "Man, Sonya... always got me all twisted up like this."

Just as he was about to get up and check the Zoom setup again, a chat notification popped up. From Karl.

Ray opened it.

"Bro... No way you caught that weird shit. I’m telling you that’s not a skit. Where the hell you getting money to pay people lmao... Btw put me on later so folks know my stand-up is actually funny"

Ray chuckled reading the long-ass message. Karl never changed — always joking, always trying to make it as a stand-up comedian.

He shot back a quick reply:

"Haha yeah bro, that moment was straight up wild. Nobody got paid, that was real life. If I blow up, I promise we’ll get that same-frame shot hahaha..."

Ray sent it and chuckled again. Karl was one of the only dudes who could still make him laugh even when everything else was messy.

He sat down in front of the new PC that had just shown up earlier that afternoon. Camera already locked in on the tripod, ring light tweaked a million times till the lighting hit his face right. The Zoom link from @Asmoldking had been sitting in his DMs since earlier that evening. "9 PM tonight. Don’t be late, bro."

Ray checked the time. Still had a couple hours to go.

---

Time flew by. Ray kept checking Zoom like a maniac, readjusting the camera angle and tweaking the ring light until it was perfect. At exactly 9 PM, the live stream went live. This podcast wasn’t pre-recorded — it was straight-up live. Thousands of viewers had already piled in from the first minute, and the chat was moving at lightspeed.

Asmoldking popped up on screen with a big grin, voice full of energy like always.

"Yo yo yo, what’s good guys! Tonight we got a special guest — Ray, the dude whose video is blowing up everywhere. That clip of the old lady at the mall randomly saying ’Your pp hard or what?’ got everybody losing their minds, thinking it’s some kind of God’s warning or whatever. Ray, you there bro?"

Ray nodded at the camera, keeping his voice calm even though his heart was pounding.

"Yeah, I’m right here."

They started chatting casually. Asmoldking asked for the full story from the mall, and Ray stuck to the facts at first — until the comments started flooding in.

Asmoldking read one of the comments out loud, half-amused, half-annoyed.

"A lot of people are saying: ’This gotta be a skit, right? Ray paid the old lady to act so it goes viral.’ Others are like, ’The timing’s too perfect, no way that shit’s real.’ You seeing this, Ray? Everybody accusing you left and right."

Ray gave a small smirk. This was exactly the moment he was waiting for. He decided to turn up the heat. Caught up in the wild, tense, speculative energy of the live stream, he smoothly started adding extra details like it was nothing.

"Nah, it’s not a skit. That shit really happened. Actually... right before I got close to the mall, my head suddenly felt kinda dizzy and hot. Like there was this weird pressure in the air. At first I thought I was just tired, but after the old lady said that, it got even stronger."

He said it with a dead-serious face, like he was genuinely remembering it. The chat instantly exploded. Some people started buying it, while others went even harder accusing him of faking it.

Asmoldking read another comment.

"Somebody just said: ’Ray must be sensitive to supernatural shit. That’s why he felt dizzy and hot when he got close. Like his ghost radar turned on.’"

Ray was lowkey confused hearing that. Deep down he knew he was just making shit up, but on the outside he played dumb.

"Sensitive to the supernatural? What you mean by that? I’m just telling you what I felt, man."

Asmoldking was clearly getting fed up with all the skit accusations. He let out a long sigh, then cleared his throat.

"It’s not a skit. I can actually confirm it..."

Ray frowned.

"Confirm it?"

"Yeah," Asmoldking said firmly.

Ray leaned forward a bit. "How?"

Asmoldking didn’t waste time.

"Don’t even worry about how. It’s clear as day. That old lady in your video... she’s my grandma."

Ray froze for a second. His eyes widened a little.

"For real?" he asked quietly.

Asmoldking nodded. "Yeah. My grandma does go to that mall every week. A couple days before it happened, she told me something weird was going on with her body — dizziness and that hot feeling, exactly like what you described. Soon as I saw your video, I knew right away it was her. That’s why I know it’s not a skit. No way my grandma’s getting paid to act. She does deal with weird shit sometimes, but never this intense."

The chat went absolutely nuclear. People were spamming "insane plot twist," while others stayed super skeptical. The whole topic was getting even spicier.

Ray, who knew the real truth, could only sit there thinking:

’What a load of bullshit.’
