Chapter 2415: Chapter 2423: Is It Possible
Still the most charming damsel in the world.
Peter Gingery was really taken aback.
He rested last night at 11 o’clock, if Jane Sampson had got to the guard team at 11 o’clock, he would have known.
Since he didn’t know, Jane Sampson must have arrived after 11 o’clock.
Plus, James Black mentioned that Jane Sampson arrived very late, so Peter Gingery guessed that Jane Sampson might have arrived around midnight last night.
What kind of imported motor she must have taken to have such energy, flying across thousands of miles overnight from over there, back to Capital Province, then stayed with the guard team for less than ten hours before hurrying to catch a flight again.
Peter Gingery thought it over and only came to one conclusion.
This must be the motor of love.
Sour.
Really sour.
Peter Gingery felt that he might have accidentally eaten a slice of lemon in the morning, turning himself into a lemon tree.
"What were you just about to say regarding those two kids?" James Black wasn’t ready to explain to Peter Gingery about Jane Sampson rushing back overnight just to be with him.
"Oh, it was just last night before sleep, my roommate and I talked about the things that happened with the guard team in the past, and my roommate brought up Grandpa Green’s story." Peter Gingery said, "You should still remember Grandpa Green, right? He was an old teammate of my grandfather’s a long time ago."
James Black thought for a while before he remembered such a person.
"Grandpa Green got injured in the early battles, injured his brain, couldn’t remember anything, not even his own surname or name. His surname was given later by the doctor who saved him. During the war, everything was chaotic, no way to trace Grandpa Green’s things."
Peter Gingery said, "Grandpa Green couldn’t even remember his name or where he was from, so naturally he couldn’t remember if he was married. But judging from the marriage age of that era, Grandpa Green should have been married."
"Later, many people tried to introduce partners to Grandpa Green, but he said he couldn’t marry until he could remember his past. In case he had been married before with a family, marrying again would betray the wife and child waiting in his hometown. Grandpa Green never recalled his past and because of his severe early injuries, he passed away over fifty years old."
"I’ve never met Grandpa Green; it’s my grandfather who told me about his stories, he fought alongside Grandpa Green and took some photos together, one of which was just the two of them."
At this point, Peter Gingery clapped his hands, "When I saw that little boy last night, I felt like he looked a lot like someone. Then when I heard my roommate mention Grandpa Green, I realized it, that little boy looks just like Grandpa Green."
Saying this, Peter Gingery nudged James Black’s arm, "Brother, do you think it’s possible Old Sir felt compassion because the child looks like an old teammate? Or maybe, Old Sir thought the boy might be related to Grandpa Green and that’s why he wanted to bring the child back?"
"Brother, maybe Old Sir has already sent someone to investigate those two children’s background. I heard Rachel Miller was adopted from an orphanage; perhaps Old Sir’s people are already in that orphanage." Peter Gingery said, "Should you get someone to go to the orphanage and inquire for you? If this is true, then maybe we misunderstood Old Sir yesterday."
If this is indeed the case, it would explain the reason Old Sir wanted to bring the two children into the Black Family.
But eventually because of James Black, Old Sir gave up on this idea.
And also, because it was still uncertain whether the children were related to Old Sir’s teammates, he didn’t explain to James Black in advance.
Old Master Black’s affection for James Black ultimately outweighed everything else.
