Chapter 2409: Chapter 2417: Misunderstood
James Black watched Old Master Black practice calligraphy in the study for more than half an hour. Old Master Black didn’t speak, so James Black also refrained from speaking proactively.
It wasn’t until Old Master Black put down the pen and looked toward him.
He spoke.
"This matter is my mistake in considering," Old Master Black, with age, didn’t have as bad a temper as he did when he was younger.
When he did something wrong, he acknowledged it, and Old Master Black would reflect upon it.
"Yo had a point when she said it was my fault for not considering that when things went wrong in the past, you were still so young."
Aunt’s words to Old Master Black struck a chord with him.
He always imposed his own thoughts on James Black, but he overlooked that James Black, who returned to the Black Family with him in the past, was still a child, a child who didn’t yet know how to manage his emotions.
James Black kept everything inside, without speaking, and over time, everyone thought nothing was wrong.
"Tomorrow, I’ll have Richard Zane send those two children back," Old Master Black stated his position.
Seeing James Black staring at him without speaking, Old Master Black finally confessed.
"I originally wanted those two kids to call you Elder Uncle, one to call you Uncle. Now it seems, this old man made a mistake," Old Master Black walked over to James Black and patted him on the shoulder.
"If you want to retaliate against other members of the Miller Family, you don’t need to do it through those two kids. You can do it without them. If it’s simply considering the early passing of Rachel Miller’s elder brother, helping these two kids, you don’t need to bring them back to the Black Family, nor need them to recognize me."
Old Master Black’s concession made James Black genuinely relieved.
"Actually, once you’ve dealt with those who bullied my mom in the past from the Miller Family, those two children would naturally be safe," James Black said. "I also don’t mean to blame you. If I were to argue with you, my wife wouldn’t be happy, and I don’t want her to be unhappy."
"..." Old Master Black almost couldn’t catch his breath at these words.
It turns out that since James Black returned, though he was clearly angry, he said nothing and didn’t argue, simply because he didn’t want his wife to be unhappy?
So it turns out, it had nothing to do with him as the grandfather?
"Alright, alright, you go back to the guard team, take Peter Gingery back with you, don’t think I don’t know you were downstairs just now calling me old!" Old Master Black slapped the table loudly, "Hurry up and get lost, looking at you two brothers irritates me. When does your wife come back? Tell her to stay at the Black Residence for two days, I miss her."
"I won’t let her," James Black responded immediately, "When she returns, I’ll go to the airport to pick her up back to the guard team."
After speaking, James Black grabbed his coat, opened the door, reached out, and grabbed the collar of Peter Gingery, who was hiding outside the door eavesdropping, and dragged him downstairs, leaving the Black Residence.
From the moment Old Master Black told Richard Zane to send the children to the hotel, Peter Gingery knew Old Master Black finally compromised.
In the car returning to the guard team, Peter Gingery nearly scratched all his hair off in frustration.
"What was the old man doing with all this back and forth? It’s exhausting," Peter Gingery complained.
"You don’t understand," James Black turned the steering wheel, looking calmly at the road ahead.
Regarding Peter Gingery’s words, he casually replied, "You don’t understand" and dismissed it.
"Afterward, what did grandfather say to you in the study? I noticed when he was chasing us out, his mood wasn’t bad. At first, I was afraid you two would start arguing in the study, now with little Jane not around, and my parents also not here, if you argued, no one could stop you."
