Chapter 2405: Chapter 2413: No Stance
As he talked about this, Old Master Black couldn’t help but chuckle coldly. Who would have thought? He was still alive and well, yet the entire Miller family had perished, leaving no one behind.
"Rachel Miller’s affairs, I always knew about them. He came to find you, that beast even sent Rachel Miller to look for you, but I never intervened, because, like you, I hate them. Even if Rachel Miller is innocent, who asked Rachel Miller to be the son of those two people?"
"But, those two children are different; they are truly innocent. Although they bear the huge inheritance left by Rachel Miller, they must simultaneously endure the risks money brings them. In a way, this is quite fair." Old Master Black sneered with a laugh, "But if I don’t intervene, those people who looked at your mom as if she were a joke back then will be holding Rachel Miller’s money, laughing themselves awake even while sleeping."
"That makes me, the old man, quite unhappy." Old Master Black slammed the table in anger, "Where on earth does such a good thing exist?"
While Old Master Black spoke, James Black silently hung his head, not making a sound.
Not responding, nor did he express his stance.
"When I brought you home in the past, I always had people observe the Miller Family. After you came back with me, that child, who wasn’t much older than you, probably lived the hardest in the entire Miller Family. He had a bunch of parents who were shameless and without morals, yet he was raised very well, very kind."
Old Master Black always remembered those years when that child cried and said sorry to James Black, cried and said he didn’t want to snatch his daddy, cried wanting to pull his mom away from the Miller Family, saying he didn’t want that daddy, he didn’t want to take away another child’s daddy, making another child become like he was before, a child without a dad.
In essence, Old Master Black had the most compassion for that child who was too pure and died too early.
Because of his parents, the child never seemed happy during those years of living, later succumbing to illness early and passing away, finding release in a form of happiness.
It was said that when the child passed away, he wasn’t afraid at all, comforting those around him, saying he wasn’t sad at all.
"Just consider it a small compensation for that child," Old Master Black stated, "Among those two siblings, the younger brother was registered under Rachel Miller’s brother’s name. Helping these two children might as well be helping that child who passed away early."
After saying this, Old Master Black didn’t continue further.
What he wanted to express had been said, now it’s up to James Black whether he could walk out from his hatred.
He understood James Black, hating since childhood, James Black’s unhatred cannot be achieved overnight.
Yet simultaneously, Old Master Black hoped, through this incident, James Black could let go of the knots he should untangle.
"A man ought to have his ambition in his heart, but also must have a broad mind." Old Master Black patted James Black’s shoulder and sighed, "Those two children are very obedient, very sensible, you know? When I saw that girl, I felt she was so much like your wife Jane during her childhood, cautious in everything she does, everything she says, afraid of being disliked, afraid of causing trouble. In the future, if you and Jane have children, having these two sisters and brothers as companions is a blessing too."
