Chapter 151: Chapter 151: The Mastermind is Obvious

"Do you think I’m that easy? Even if I were, it wouldn’t be with you!" Kenneth Yates’s flushed face twisted into a scowl. He gracefully grabbed his suit jacket and slid it on, but his eyes betrayed a demonic bloodlust. He was a cruel man—a fact Reina West seemed to have forgotten.

At the door, Kenneth Yates didn’t forget to deliver a final blow. "Reina West, the next time we meet, I hope you can still stand before me and act like nothing happened." He then let out a sinister, arrogant laugh.

The echoes of his laughter stabbed at Reina West’s heart like daggers. Her clenched fists were no longer enough to contain her simmering rage. ’Right now, all I want is to kill Summer Lancaster.’ She and Kenneth Yates had grown up together, so why had Summer Lancaster beaten her to the punch?

Kenneth Yates returned to Vexx. It didn’t take long for him to find out the name of the waiter—the very person who had tampered with his drink!

The waiter, dressed in a black-and-white uniform, entered the private room with his head bowed, trembling. He kept stealing glances at the man seated in the main chair.

A man who appeared to be the boss was already waiting. He poured Kenneth Yates a glass of expensive red wine with a fawning, groveling smile. This titan was a regular here; everyone in the establishment knew him. But today, he had specifically summoned the new waiter. ’Did the kid do something to offend Kenneth Yates? This could be bad. What if Master Yates gets angry and buys the bar? I’ll be out on the street.’

"Heh heh... Young Master Yates, this is him. You see..."

BANG!

Kenneth Yates ignored the bar owner, shot to his feet, and viciously kicked the waiter.

The waiter staggered and fell to the ground, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. The boss jumped in fright. He’d never seen Young Master Yates this furious.

"Young Master Yates! I was threatened! Please... I’m begging you, let me go!" The waiter frantically wiped the blood from his mouth, ignoring his own injury. He scrambled forward, grabbed Kenneth Yates’s leg, and pleaded for his life. He had been forced into it. He had come here to pick up his girlfriend, only to be kidnapped. His captors’ only demand was that he drug Kenneth Yates’s drink. He had no choice but to comply. But his nervousness had given him away; he wasn’t cut out for this kind of work.

Kenneth Yates’s dark eyes fell upon the man on the ground with a sharp glare. With a sneer, he kicked the man’s hands away.

’That makes sense,’ Kenneth thought. ’In the world of business, what is right or wrong? Power is the ultimate currency. His clumsy execution exposed him completely. An employee like that would never survive.’

’Besides, who would use a greenhorn like this to set me up? The person behind this can’t be anyone too impressive.’

’Then again, it’s my own fault for letting my guard down.’

Kenneth Yates sat back down on the sofa. The boss, finally snapping out of his daze, tremblingly poured him another glass of wine...

"Start talking. Who’s the mastermind? If I’m satisfied with your answer, I might let you live. Otherwise..." Kenneth Yates flexed his large, well-defined hand. "It’s been a while since I’ve smelled blood..."

The waiter’s eyes went wide with terror. "It was... it was just some guy. He kept making calls, asking for instructions. I don’t know who he is... He told me to give you... an aphrodisiac. But I secretly swapped it. The drink only had a knockout drug in it."

Kenneth Yates’s eyes narrowed. ’Now this is interesting.’
