Chapter 115: Chapter 115: You Are My Exclusive

Summer Lancaster gazed up at Kenneth’s profile. He had a kingly aura that could intimidate anyone, and his chiseled face looked a bit cold. To Summer, however, he felt incredibly warm.

"Let’s go," Kenneth said, looking at her. Summer Lancaster awkwardly looked away and followed him into the CEO’s private elevator. She suddenly tugged on the corner of his sleeve. "Am I allowed to use your private elevator?"

Kenneth pried her hand away, leaned in close to her cheek, and said, "You *are* my exclusive."

Summer Lancaster awkwardly backed away, deliberately putting some distance between them. "If you want to talk, just talk. Why are you getting so close? What if someone sees us?"

Suddenly, Kenneth pulled her into his arms and pressed his lips to hers. Summer Lancaster’s eyes widened in shock before she closed them, surrendering to his kiss. Kenneth didn’t deepen it; this was the office, after all, and it wouldn’t do to go too far. When he pulled away, a pleased smile played on his lips.

"No one should be able to see us in here," he said, "but..." Kenneth pointed to the camera in the top corner of the elevator.

Summer Lancaster jumped, shoving Kenneth away as she frantically straightened her clothes. ’Is he some kind of pervert? Who puts a camera in their own private elevator? So he can admire his own handsome face every day? Does this mean the security room saw everything just now?!’ Summer Lancaster glared at him, furious. He might be shameless, but she wasn’t!

Just then, the elevator arrived at Summer’s floor. The instant the doors opened, she bolted out.

Kenneth chuckled to himself in the elevator. ’She’s so naive. Did she really think I’d put on a live show for the entire company? Only I can see the footage from that camera. Who would be stupid enough to feed the video from the CEO’s private elevator to the main security room?’

The moment Summer Lancaster stepped out of the elevator, she ran right into the HR manager. He was notoriously strict and always laid into anyone who was late, spouting lines like, "Do you think your family owns this company? You can just show up whenever you feel like it?" He said the kinds of things that made you want to punch him. Summer frantically scanned her surroundings, but there was nowhere to hide. She had no choice but to brace herself and face him.

"Heh... Morning, Manager!" Summer Lancaster said, putting on a placating smile, fully prepared to be chewed out.

"Ah, Director Lancaster. Morning," the manager said with a neutral expression before walking right past her.

Summer was stunned for a moment, then overjoyed. ’Did the manager win the lottery today? Or did his son get into a good university?’ she wondered. She couldn’t believe her luck, catching him in a good mood that seemed to come around only once in a millennium.

Beaming, Summer Lancaster walked over to her desk. She had just set down her bag when Serena Monroe appeared before her.

"You’re grinning like you won the lottery," a sarcastic voice remarked beside her. The comment didn’t faze Summer Lancaster; she just kept happily arranging the things on her desk.

"Of course I’m happy! Guess what? I was late today, but the manager didn’t yell at me. He even wished me a good morning!"

Serena Monroe rolled her eyes. "You’re happy about *that*? For a second, I thought the CEO had given you fifty percent of the company shares. What else was the manager going to do? He can’t afford the consequences of offending you. Look around. Who in this company still dares to give you a dirty look? Annoy you in the morning, and they’re gone by the afternoon." 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

"Huh? Why is that?"

Serena Monroe leaned over, planting her hands on Summer’s desk and lowering her voice to a whisper. "Haven’t you noticed Fletcher has been hanging around our floor a lot lately? The CEO sent him. He’s here to protect you!"

Summer thought back. She used to see Zane Fletcher around a lot, but never on this floor. He was supposed to be in the CEO’s office. But it was true, he had been appearing here frequently lately. ’Could it really be Kenneth’s doing?’
