Chapter 593: Chapter 419 Tea_2

Yara was shocked to hear Dong Tianyu say that although they had left the plane, those people would rather blow up the aircraft than spare the lives of other innocent civilians.

From this, Yara realized that those people were a group of ruthless criminals, and subconsciously asked, "Have you narrowed down the target range of suspects?"

"Found and confirmed," was the reply.

Upon hearing Dong Tianyu’s response, Yara was somewhat taken aback. She had assumed that it would be very difficult to find any clues after the destruction of the plane, but to her surprise, she learned from Dong Tianyu that they had already identified the criminal suspects.

So, after hearing what Dong Tianyu said, Yara quickly pressed on, "If you already have a target suspect, why not proceed with the arrest? It looks like they haven’t been caught?"

Hearing Yara say this, Dong Tianyu nodded, "Yeah, we didn’t catch them."

Yara was full of disbelief at Dong Tianyu’s answer. After all, regardless of the situation, the Pengcheng Government wielded strong control. For minor issues, it might not matter as much.

But with a major incident like the bombing of a plane, under normal circumstances, anyone with even a hint of suspicion would be arrested first and questioned later;mistakes might occur in the process, but they would not let anyone slip through the cracks. Yet, according to Dong Tianyu, they hadn’t caught anyone. This made things much more interesting.

With an eagerness to watch the drama unfold, Yara was curious about the reckless suspect, "Can you tell me who that daredevil of a suspect is?"

When Yara asked, Dong Tianyu’s face suddenly revealed a sly smile, yet his tone remained very calm, "Actually, the target suspect you’ve come into contact with before."

Seeing Dong Tianyu intentionally piquing her curiosity, Yara knew he was doing it on purpose but still couldn’t help asking, "Who is it?"

Seeing Yara’s impatient query, the smile on Dong Tianyu’s face grew broader, "Do you remember the female con artist that Ye Liuyun asked you to help catch the first time we met?"

Upon hearing Dong Tianyu’s words, Yara took a while to recall that incident and then asked with some confusion, "Her?"

After Yara responded, Dong Tianyu nodded with a hint of schadenfreude, "That’s right, it’s her."

Getting the affirmative response from Dong Tianyu, Yara suddenly felt a chill run down her spine and instinctively shuddered, asking, "Is it really her?"

Perhaps hearing a trace of fear in Yara’s question, Dong Tianyu still wore an undiminished smile, "Although there isn’t the most direct evidence yet, according to what we have at hand, there’s an eight or nine out of ten chance it’s her. Even if she didn’t personally set off the explosion, the one who did is bound to be closely related to her."

After Dong Tianyu’s second confirmation, Yara felt increasingly uneasy. After all, before she took action, she had investigated the woman, who was just an ordinary person without any significant background or status, which was why Yara had confidently taken on the task.

But she had not expected that she had unwittingly provoked a lunatic. Although she was very confident in her family’s security measures, prevention is not always possible. Even if done well, it was impossible to be on guard against the other party at all times.

Watching Yara’s face grow increasingly pale, Dong Tianyu seemed to guess at her inner thoughts. After refilling her teacup, he tried to comfort her, "Don’t overthink it. When you made your move last time, you only caught an impostor. Even if the person is vengeful, they won’t target you first. To put it bluntly, as long as Madeline is alive, they won’t come for you for revenge."

After hearing Dong Tianyu’s words, Yara’s mood suddenly lightened considerably. Under normal circumstances, Yara was very bold, but in the face of someone who dared to blow up a plane, she still felt a bit of hesitancy inside.

Even after hearing Dong Tianyu’s reassurances, Yara still felt uneasy and asked again, "Are you sure she won’t come looking for trouble with me anytime soon?"

Seeing Yara like this, Dong Tianyu’s smile didn’t falter as he responded, "What’s wrong, you’re not happy if she doesn’t come looking for trouble? How about I find someone in Pengcheng to spread the word and let others know you’re involved too."

Upon hearing Dong Tianyu say that, Yara hastily waved his hands and refused, "No no no, I’m not fortunate enough to enjoy that kind of thing. I’m begging you, alright? Please don’t stir things up, don’t cause a scene." While Yara was not afraid of a lunatic, he did not want to provoke one for no good reason.

Seeing Yara’s face full of refusal, Dong Tianyu shook his head with a smile, "Alright, I’ll stop teasing you. Even though I haven’t been in contact with Pengcheng recently, I think those plane bombers are not having an easy time now.

Their planes have been blown up; it’s not just Pengcheng’s problem anymore. Kyoto will probably send people too. If they don’t catch them, the lords in the Pengcheng Government, whether to their subordinates or superiors, won’t be able to explain themselves. So, I think those people won’t escape."

Listening to Dong Tianyu’s analysis, Yara suddenly saw the light and murmured to himself, "Right, that makes sense. Even if they wanted revenge on me, they wouldn’t make such a big fuss."

Having calmed down, Yara’s intelligence once again took the high ground, and a new idea suddenly emerged in his mind: ’No, something’s not right. If it’s just the arrest of a suspect, such a severe retaliation is too much. There must be more to the story.’

Just as Yara was about to delve deeper into his thoughts, he suddenly noticed Dong Tianyu’s half-smiling expression and immediately understood Dong Tianyu’s intention, promptly ending the topic.

Hesitating, not knowing what to say, but adhering to the principle of never leaving empty-handed, Yara saw the tea caddy on the tea table, his eyes lit up, and then he asked Dong Tianyu, "How much tea do you have at home? Can you spare some for me?"

Hearing Yara’s shameless request, Dong Tianyu couldn’t help but spit in his face, one batch of tea leaves, listen to yourself, is that even human speech?

Even before the Cold Catastrophe, unless it was a tea farm trading unprocessed tea leaves, tea was never traded in batches.

Watching Dong Tianyu roll his eyes without a word, Yara instantly got the message, gave a sheepish laugh, then corrected himself, "My bad, whatever you can spare, I’ll take it all, I’m not picky."

Upon hearing Yara backtrack, Dong Tianyu’s expression finally returned to normal, "If you’re not picky, there are some tea leaves in the basement. They are all old teas, but the price won’t be low."

Hearing Dong Tianyu’s condition, Yara wasn’t concerned; although tea was graded before the Cold Catastrophe, this grading system had essentially disappeared post-disaster.

It wasn’t that good teas became cheaper; instead, the prices of originally affordable teas had shot up.

Tea plants are different from ordinary crops; they need several years of growth during their juvenile period before they mature and can be harvested for tea.

In the first round of the extreme Cold Catastrophe, most tea bushes in tea gardens were frozen to death. Even the few bushes that miraculously survived the cold, did not make it through the subsequent harsh heat and drought conditions.

Due to the lack of new tea leaf sources, even the most common teas have seen their prices soar dramatically, whereas the originally top-priced teas haven’t increased as much.

Because there’s no new tea coming in, the tea currently available on the market is mostly old tea from before the disaster. And as the tea becomes scarcer, prices have generally been rising as well.

Unlike foreign countries which don’t drink much tea, drinking tea has been integrated into the genes of every person from China over thousands of years of history. Even if they preferred soft drinks as children, by middle age, they would unconsciously develop a fondness for tea.
