Chapter 570: Chapter 408: First Encounter with the Boss_2

When the first Energy Crystal appeared, the surrounding Crystal Scorpions quickly formed pairs. Following this, a mine containing Energy Crystals suddenly emerged in the Cave.

Zachary looked at the increasing number of Energy Crystals in the mine and was so surprised he didn’t know what to say, as this was the first time he had encountered such a situation.

However, after seeing what was happening, Zachary also formed a speculation in his heart; the unique creature he had detected in the mine with his Divine Sense must have the ability to control the Energy Crystals buried in the ground. Otherwise, the scorpions wouldn’t revert to Energy Crystals upon entering the Cave.

As the number of scorpions willingly walking into the trap decreased, Zachary was now certain that although the Crystal Scorpions were controlled by that creature in the depths of the cave, the creature couldn’t monitor its surroundings in real-time through the scorpions, hence the scorpions’ blunder.

When no more Crystal Scorpions were left in the section ahead, Zachary closed the spatial passage. He had intended to break down the Energy Crystals in the Cave, but after thinking for a while, he decided to save them for later. Even if he broke down all the crystals, the advancement progress of the Cave wouldn’t increase by much, so he opted to leave them for the future.

As Zachary continued deeper into the cave, the same scenario unfolded again. With the experience from last time, he confidently opened the spatial passage.

Zachary, who thought he could make a profit without any effort, suddenly remembered that the scorpions attacking them were hatching from nearby Energy Crystals, but turning Crystal Scorpions back into Energy Crystals required two scorpions.

This disparity of fifty percent in input versus output, which was unbearable for Zachary—who now considered all the Energy Crystals in the cave as private property—wasted resources excessively.

So after eliminating these scorpions, Zachary tentatively used the Invisibility Technique, hoping to approach stealthily.

Unfortunately, despite being invisible, the creature quickly detected Zachary’s presence.

It seemed that the Invisibility Technique he had learned previously had become outdated. Whether it was at the Survivor Camp or when encountering monsters, most had means to counter invisibility. Therefore, after Zachary returned, he would need to spend a considerable amount to cultivate a better Invisibility Technique.

After clearing out the Crystal Scorpions with the same tactic again, Zachary continued his exploration deeper into the cave.

Just as Zachary was leisurely watching the Crystal Scorpions enter the Cave one by one, as if fate had decided not to let him rest, the crystals in front of him exploded one after another.

This time, what hatched from the crystals were not scorpions, but the same kind of small snakes that had ambushed him when he first entered the cave.

However, this time, after hatching, the small snakes didn’t attack Zachary, but quickly crawled towards the depths of the cave.

Seeing this, Zachary grew anxious, as these small snakes were key to the Cave’s upgrade. Thus, he too sped up and rushed after them.

Unlike the Crystal Scorpions that willingly surrendered themselves, these small snakes, although fast, were too numerous. Divine Sense wasn’t telekinesis, only useful for observation and incapable of manipulating objects, so he couldn’t make the objects fly into the Cave as telekinesis would.

Hence, at this moment, Zachary could only rely on his bare hands to catch the juvenile snakes one by one. Although the newly hatched snakes were small in size, the smaller creatures were ironically harder to catch.

Because catching the snakes slowed Zachary’s pursuit, but he was reluctant to pass by these young creatures and continue the chase, for to him, these small snakes represented fast upgrade progression for the Cave mansion, and he didn’t want to waste a single one.

Actually, this situation wasn’t all that bad. Some Energy Crystals hadn’t surfaced from the ground like the others but were buried in the soil for some reason.

Normally, Zachary would have had to dig them out himself if he wanted those buried Energy Crystals. But now that the Energy Crystals had turned into small snakes hatching out from the depths, it saved him a lot of trouble.

For that reason, under Zachary’s laissez-faire approach, all the little snakes couldn’t help but rush towards the depths of the cave.

Though the cave was deep, even the deepest cave had an end, and when the little snakes, after much hardship, reached the depths of the cave,

what awaited them was not a welcome, but a huge abyssal maw that swallowed all the creatures that had successfully escaped into the cave.

The creatures that had followed the little snakes weren’t too numerous, and their strength wasn’t too weak, but even so, they were engulfed just like the little snakes, swallowed whole by the creature lurking here.

As Zachary came closer to the deepest part of the cave, the silhouette of the creature dwelling at the bottom of the cave became increasingly clear under his Divine Sense.

Contrary to what Yara had initially told him about a giant python, the creature in the depths of the cave seemed to be a Multi-Headed Serpent, and what’s more critical was that the cave Yara found was not the only passage leading to the deepest part of the cave.

As Zachary was about to reach the deepest part of the cave, a huge snake head burst into the passage, perfectly occupying it, and considering that there were no forks in the passage,

Zachary could preliminarily ascertain that the path he had taken was very likely a route opened by the snake head itself to the outside world.

Looking at the snake head that occupied the entire cave and was biting towards him, Zachary couldn’t say he wasn’t panicked, because in such a situation, at this location, anyone, no matter their Cultivation Level, would instinctively feel somewhat panicked.

At this moment, Zachary had only two options: The first was to hide directly into the Cave, which was actually the simplest and most effective method, but he feared that the giant serpent would guard the corpse, since, judging by the depth of the cave, the serpent’s neck was definitely not short.

Aside from that method, perhaps he could also try racing with the snake head in the cave. Winning would mean survival with no other benefits, and losing wouldn’t require any additional penalty—after all, if you’re dead, what else matters? 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

As the snake head rapidly approached, Zachary was forced to make an early decision.

Zachary, gazing at the swiftly approaching landmark, thought for a long time and then decided to hide inside the Cave.

After all, compared to waiting outside, at least inside the Cave there was no shortage of food and drink.

With that thought, Zachary didn’t hesitate any longer and directly entered the Cave. As he vanished before its eyes, a puzzled look appeared in the eyes of the snake head.

However, having already set off, regardless of whether it had eaten Zachary or not, its current goal was to get out of the cave. Even though many snake heads shared one body, there was a brain inside each head, so each head of the Multi-Headed Serpent had a different personality.

Zachary, hiding in the Cave, suddenly thought that if he now used his Sword Control Technique to sever the snake head, what kind of situation would arise.

If the serpent creature lost a head, it still had others to use, but it was unknown whether the other heads would come to assist or accelerate its death.

Thinking this, Zachary’s curiosity grew even stronger, so rather than just thinking about it, he acted. He directly commanded the Flying Swords out of the spatial channel and stabbed them into the serpent’s body, then he poured energy into the Flying Swords, amplifying the power of the Sword Qi.

The size of the Flying Swords to the giant serpent was like a thread in the hands of an adult. When the Sword Qi received Spirit Energy, it rotated once.

Although the Flying Swords were embedded in the giant serpent’s body, with the infusion of Spirit Energy by Zachary, a tremendous glow cleaved the serpent’s body in front of him into two.
