"You want to act in it too? Isn’t this just a romantic idol drama?"
"It’s so sweet." Wang Jing said, "While reading the book, I was completely immersed in the plot."
Zhou Lan said, "For this drama, the female lead has already been decided as Xu Siyao. It’s not appropriate for us to compete for the female lead now, do you want to act in something else? I can see if there’s an opportunity."
Wang Jing shook her head and said, "It’s okay, Sister Lan, I just brought it up because I heard the news. It’s fine not to act."
Zhou Lan acknowledged with a sound.
"How’s the script sent over by Sister Liu Zi’s team before coming along? Do you want to take it?" Zhou Lan asked.
Wang Jing shook her head and said, "I’ve read the script, and I think it’s quite ordinary. I don’t want to act."

Wang Jing chuckled and said, "I feel the same way. These domestic scripts are so boring — always masking as genre films but ultimately telling love stories, or they’re suspense adventure pieces that are just male-centric."
Zhou Lan: "Yet you don’t mind People Talking on Stars being a love story?"
"Well, it’s explicitly a love story, so I don’t like those others that pretend to be workplace dramas, sci-fi, or even claim to be realistic, but still tell love stories. If it’s about romance, it should just focus openly on that," Wang Jing said with a smile.
