Chapter 1359: Chapter 710: About to Give Birth

Zhou Yun was halfway through eating hot pot with Song Chi when she found out that Yuk Chu was about to give birth.

Her first reaction was to go to the hospital.

Song Chi pulled her back and said, "At this hour there are still a lot of people at the hospital. Let’s wait a bit. Right now Yuk Chu is still in labor. We’ll go over after she delivers."

Zhou Yun said, "Yuk Chu doesn’t get along with her family. The only one by her side is Yin Zhou. I want to go keep her company."

Song Chi said, "That’s fine, I’ll go with you. Yin Zhou is probably in a complete panic too."

Zhou Yun laughed and said, "Come on, he’s a dad-to-be. I’m sure he’s done plenty of prep."

Song Chi said, "Being a dad-to-be just means he’s a rookie with no experience. Of course he’s going to be flustered."

"What about you then?" Zhou Yun shot back. "When you become a dad-to-be one day, you won’t have experience either. Won’t you be flustered?"

"Absolutely not. I’ll definitely be fully prepared," Song Chi said, brimming with confidence.

Zhou Yun gave him a sidelong look.

"You are such a hypocrite."

Song Chi probably realized himself that what he’d said was a bit of a double standard. He rubbed his nose, but still stubbornly added, "I’m telling you, I definitely won’t be running around like a headless chicken."

Zhou Yun hummed in response.

In her head she thought, Sure, keep saying that.

It was the afternoon.

The sun was blazing.

Summer had already arrived.

The temperature was high, and waves of heat hit them in the face.

Wearing sunglasses, Zhou Yun rode in Song Chi’s car to the hospital. The hospital was bustling with people, and the two of them walking in together drew too much attention. So after a quick discussion, they decided Zhou Yun would go in first and Song Chi would follow later.

Zhou Yun walked to the door of the labor room and ran into Yuk Chu’s assistant.

The assistant was just opening the door from the inside.

"Sister Xiao Yun!" Yuk Chu’s assistant called out in pleasant surprise.

Zhou Yun asked, "Is Chuchu inside? How is she doing?"

Yuk Chu’s assistant said, "She is. Chuchu and Brother Zhou are both inside."

Zhou Yun nodded and said, "Then I’ll go in and take a look at them."

She knocked on the door.

The door wasn’t closed yet. Yuk Chu and Yin Zhou looked up and saw her right away.

"Xiao Yun!" As soon as Yuk Chu saw her, she called out in delight.

With a big smile on her face, Zhou Yun walked in and asked, "How are you feeling now?"

Yuk Chu shrugged and said, "How else could I feel? I just had a contraction earlier, but it’s passed now. The doctor says the baby isn’t ready to come out yet."

Zhou Yun reached out and gently pressed on Yuk Chu’s high, round belly and said, "Looks like your baby’s a bit shy."

She squatted down, pressed her cheek lightly against Yuk Chu’s belly, and said softly, "Don’t be shy~ Godmom is here~"

Yuk Chu’s eyes filled with a gentle light as she laughed.

"Have you two picked a name for the baby yet?" Zhou Yun asked.

Yuk Chu shook her head. "Not yet."

"What about a nickname?" Zhou Yun asked again.

Yuk Chu said, "Also not yet."

Zhou Yun glared at the couple and said, "How can you be so careless? It’s already come to this and you still haven’t decided on a name."

"Sigh, neither of us can convince the other," Yuk Chu said helplessly. "So it’s still not decided."

Zhou Yun said, "Then you’d better hurry up and settle on one. We can’t just keep calling ’baby, baby’ all the time, my little cub, right?"

The second half of Zhou Yun’s sentence was addressed to the child in Yuk Chu’s belly.

Yuk Chu couldn’t help laughing.

"Your voice is so saccharine it’s going to kill me," Yuk Chu teased.

Standing on the other side of the bed, Yin Zhou snickered.

Just then, wearing sunglasses, Song Chi carefully made his way over as well.

"Ah, Brother Chi’s here too!" Yuk Chu said happily.

Taking off his sunglasses, Song Chi told Yuk Chu, "The moment Xiao Yun heard you’d gone into the labor room, she got all flustered and insisted on coming. I told her to wait a bit and come after you’d given birth, but she refused. I tried my best. If you find her noisy, remember I already attempted to stop her."

Zhou Yun let out a snort and said, "Excuse me? You actually think I’m noisy?"

"I never think Xiao Yun is noisy," Yuk Chu said.

Song Chi turned to Yin Zhou. "Yin Zhou, did you bring everything? Toiletries and all that."

Yin Zhou nodded. "I’ve got a set prepared in the car. We were worried something urgent like this might happen, so we got everything ready in advance."

Song Chi made an acknowledging sound and nodded. "Then you two really are well prepared."

Zhou Yun curled the corner of her mouth.

...

That night, Zhou Lan finished dealing with her work and went to her dinner appointment.

She had arranged to have dinner with Wang Jing.
