Chapter 108: Watch (Bonus Chapter)

The young man chuckled upon hearing this. "Seems like you are truly out of touch with Earth’s powers. The Guardian Empire indeed couldn’t be trifled with, and this is why the Triangle Empire didn’t push the matter further, but that’s only when it came to the powerhouses of each empire. When you count only the lower cultivators, then the Guardian Empire pales in comparison, so pushing the matter wasn’t in their favor."

’So that’s why. They were basically afraid of losing a lot of resources if they pursued a matter that could greatly impact their territory.’ Realization dawned upon Darius as he heard this. Top powerhouses were what held an empire together and even protected Earth from the demons, but when it came to the younger generation, that was up for debate, and the Triangle Empire was far stronger.

"Anyway, be careful not to provoke anyone, and especially don’t gaze at women for prolonged periods, hehe," the young man advised before sprinting toward the city gate, waving his hand all the way.

Darius shook his head and entered Livine City. Even if the young man hadn’t warned him, he wouldn’t dare drop his guard in such a city, lest some young master take a few glances as provocation and utter those infamous words.

When Darius arrived at Livine City’s business district, he wandered about and discovered customers flooding various stores that were under the government’s direct control. He noticed several youths rushing out of a store after much difficulty, their hands holding golden tickets and their expressions filled with joy and excitement.

After leaving a store where he had asked the people inside for directions to certain individuals, Darius immediately hitched a ride to the business district in the city’s center.

"Hahaha, this is just wonderful! Fortunately, I came here as early as seven o’clock in the morning to queue up. After ten hours of waiting, I finally got my hands on it! From today onward, I will be fighting for my future in the Sanctuary!" the lean youth wearing a blue T-shirt laughed loudly as he grasped the golden ticket.

"Do you guys need me to give you some direction? I have a friend who has been inside the Sanctuary for several years. Right now, he is already a respected guild member. As long as we have him to help us, we’ll definitely have an easier time becoming members and quickly raising our cultivation. If we’re lucky, we might even be able to have him join us on missions," another curly-haired youth proudly proclaimed.

"Really? Then it’s a promise! Our futures will be in your hands from now on. As for your lunches at the university, we’ll pay for them."

"Leave it to me! He and I are close brothers!"

When these youths heard there was an expert willing to give them pointers and carry them, they were all incredibly excited. They fantasized about their beautiful futures.

With the many global corporations fiercely investing in the Sanctuary, in addition to the many news reports about it, the common folk all discovered a new way to get stronger.

These large corporations would easily offer cultivators high salaries. So much so that, for some of the veteran and expert cultivators, the annual salaries would reach as high as one hundred Spirit Stones. This was an unimaginable figure when considering the current Sanctuary, where Spirit Stones were treated like treasures. Previously, those with annual salaries in the hundreds of Spirit Stones just from being guild members who accomplished a few missions were godlike cultivators standing at the apex. Now, however, even retired experts could receive an annual salary of one hundred Spirit Stones. Meanwhile, the current trending top-tier experts could receive annual salaries of up to a thousand Spirit Stones.

Such an amount was leagues above what any person inside the Sanctuary, and even outside it, could imagine. But after the shift in focus from Earth to this dimensional realm, the guilds and large corporations went all out, truly investing their money to gain more territory, resources, and experts.

It should be known that even Earth wasn’t fully controlled by humans. The three empires combined controlled only thirty percent of the entire planet, but even that thirty percent was twice the size of the Earth Darius knew from his previous world. That alone could tell one how precious experts who could dominate a city truly were.

According to Darius’s knowledge, the annual salary of the Guild Leader of Wolf Fang did not even exceed three hundred Spirit Stones, while James’s annual salary was only fifty Spirit Stones. Of course, many of these people didn’t even care about such sums of money. They already had astonishing backgrounds that could sustain their cultivation journeys for life, but the more resources they had, the better. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be out there fighting over resources and would simply relax in their mansions.

"Luckily, I’m not here to buy a golden ticket," Darius exclaimed as he glanced at the sea of people in front of the government store. He then turned toward a quantum watch store near the government building.

It was inconvenient for him not to have a device like the one John possessed. Hence, Darius was prepared to buy a quantum watch and not just create a bank account. Not only did it support communication between multiple languages in case he ever needed it, but it also supported bank account binding, allowing Darius to transfer coins and even Spirit Stones at any given time.

This way, he would neither have to constantly ask the system to make a temporary bank account nor carry around gold and Spirit Stones in his pockets, causing a noticeable bulge. He could avoid showing others a bulge on his lower body, preventing an awkward situation from occurring.

Immediately after Darius walked into the quantum watch store, a beautiful saleswoman came up to greet him.

"How may I help you, Sir? Our store’s number one priority is quality. We have various models of quantum watches. I especially recommend the latest Quantum 3000. It has independent binding, is water-resistant, and is definitely safe. Not only can it carry out payments in real time, but the Quantum 3000 also supports transactions from the dimensional realm, the Sanctuary."

"Alright, take me to see it then."

"This way, please, Sir."
