Chapter 107: Earth (Bonus Chapter)
’Sigh...’ Darius felt a headache from this but could only sigh and shake his head. Some matters just needed to be attended to and unlike the easy way others had, it seemed like his path would be much more troublesome.
He turned his head to John. "I’ll be heading to Earth. You can stay in the pavilion to cultivate if you wish to, or do whatever you want. I’ll be back later."
It was still the middle of the day in a way, and even if he stayed up all night, it wasn’t truly an issue with his cultivation. He wouldn’t feel that tired from it.
John nodded his head, so Darius didn’t bother and left.
To reach the Dragon City Gate in the inner city, it took half an hour, with some regular checkups along the way for identity and whatnot.
After some time, Darius appeared in front of the Dragon City Gate, where quite a few people were already waiting to take the Teleportation Domain Gate. To regular people, the Teleportation Domain Gate was known as the Dragon City Gate, but that’s only to simplify the matter since not many knew what a Domain was and it was quite bothersome to explain.
Even Darius refrained from asking the guards and decided to research the meaning once he was back. After submitting the Spirit Stones needed for the Teleportation Domain Gate, he casually found a spot to sit and waited for the gate to open.
Since it takes a considerable cost to open a Transportation Domain Gate, Dragon City waits for a sufficient number of people before activating it, not for just one person.
Darius gazed at the so-called Transportation Domain Gate, finding it to be a vast Jade Platform marked with countless intricate Marks that he couldn’t discern the language of, guarded by Dragon City’s powerhouses to prevent people from approaching.
After he sat down, many people looked at Darius with surprised glances and many were whispering on the side. This sight obviously caught Darius’s attention, but he didn’t give it any heed and ignored them.
After a while, the Transportation Domain Gate appeared, revealing a pitch-black Void World. Those waiting for it entered one by one and vanished.
Livine City is the most prosperous cultivation city in the Guardian Empire; its Transportation Domain Gate connects not only to the Sanctuary but also to various forces within Earth spanning across all empires!
As the Guardian Empire’s most bustling and crucial cultivator city, the Transportation Domain Gate is not set within the city, unlike the one in Dragon City; it’s established outside.
This setup ensures that even if connected Transportation Domain Gates are seized by Demons, they couldn’t invade the city directly, but would instead have to go through a regular siege, which is nigh impossible with Livine City’s strength.
"Indeed, the most prosperous place in the Guardian Empire!"
Darius stepped out of the Transportation Domain Gate, only to see over a dozen such gates on the massive plaza, constantly receiving or sending people away.
"Don’t linger, leave quickly!" someone maintaining order shouted!
Darius glanced over but didn’t take a look for too long before he shifted his gaze and began walking out, and most of the people who came with him from Dragon City via the Transportation Domain Gate had already disappeared.
This wasn’t Livine City yet; they still needed to walk for half an hour to get there.
As the largest city in the Guardian Empire, the sheer size of Livine City was almost beyond imagination. At the horizon’s edge, Darius gazed into the distance, seeing only the endlessly stretched city wall like a lying dragon crouching on the ground.
The clouds were dotted with colorful lights, and a sense of historical depth mingled with a rich spirituality came rushing towards him.
"The ambiance here, truly a city where all cultivators gather!" Darius’s heart trembled. This was definitely a place where geniuses emerge, and countless prodigies exist.
In comparison, the Sanctuary was simply a backward swamp.
As he was walking closer and closer to the city, he couldn’t help but notice a lot of claw marks on the city walls, and even several deep sword marks scattered across them. Seeing this scene, he felt his breath catch as he couldn’t imagine the sheer power of the demons that could inflict such damage on this wall.
"Looks like even the most prosperous city in the Guardian Empire isn’t safe from attacks," he exclaimed, quite shocked by the sight.
"Haha, friend, it looks like this is your first time here," someone heard his words and couldn’t help but laugh aloud as he got closer and pointed at the claw marks. "That deep claw mark there was said to be from a Demon Overlord above the Fourth Realm long ago, when the demons had the upper hand."
"Oh," Darius was amazed as he looked at the young man next to him wearing plain, simple clothes and a sword hanging around his waist. "A sword cultivator. You must be talented."
"Hehe." The young man scratched his head awkwardly before he changed the subject and pointed at the deep sword mark that was the most glaring of all the marks on the wall. "Speaking of swords, do you see that sword mark there? The biggest one that stretches over dozens of meters?"
Darius nodded his head. He was so deeply shocked by the sword mark that he didn’t realize the cut stretched so far. How strong would someone have to be to make that cut?
"That one is actually from a human, a demon prodigy from the Triangle Empire. A decade ago, the Guardian Empire lost one of its top prodigies inside the territory of the Triangle Empire. Furious, they sent someone to the Triangle Empire for an answer, but the Triangle Empire not only sent the envoy back without a reply, but they also sent their most monstrous prodigy alongside him, and he made that cut to show them that further escalation could lead to an all-out war."
’Hmm?’ Darius was puzzled hearing this and couldn’t help but ask curiously, "Is the Guardian Empire made of paper? I know it’s the weakest among the three, but are they unable to even ask for an explanation and let someone provoke them in their holiest city?"
