’What do you mean?’ Alex repeated his question in his mind, with his eyes darting between the floating little gremlin and jade.
The system did not answer right away. She kept scratching the back of her head, with her tiny brow furrowed as she looked over some invisible panel only she could see.
She muttered something inaudible under her breath, turning around in small circles in the air like a little fairy. Then, all of a sudden, she clapped her two hands together and exclaimed,

Alex’s eyebrow twitched as he watched Doris shift her gaze between him and Jade. He had to keep his face normal so Doris wouldn’t think he was losing his mind.

The system chibi flew closer to his ear, and said.

The chibi let out a long, dramatic sigh, crossing her tiny arms over her chest as if she were a teacher dealing with a slow student.

Doris looked at her with her large eyes wide with amazement before she let out a bright, cheerful smile. She walked over and smiled slightly.
"Wow, welcome to the club, Jade! Now you’re also a Vanguard Realm Awakened. I guess the training tonight really paid off for you."
Jade gave a slow nod of her head, and said with her voice calm and steady.
"Yes. It seems I finally broke through the barrier." She then shifted her ocean blue eyes toward Alex, a strange, unreadable glint passing through them. "Can I spar with Alex after you’re done sparring with him? I want to test my new limits."
Doris smiled, but it wasn’t her usual kind of smile. This one was a slightly mischievous smirk as she glanced at Alex.
"Sure, you can have him right after me."
Alex couldn’t resist the urge to sigh. Why did he feel like everyone always wanted to fight him lately?
"Alright, let’s get to it then. Just make sure to control your strength so that we don’t end up destroying this entire building."
"Oh no worry, I’ll make sure to control my strength, but I’ll still make sure to beat you just like how I did some while back."
"Oh let’s see about that."
Without wasting another second, Alex and Doris resumed their spar. To keep the facility from being completely demolished, they mutually agreed not to use their full strength and abilities just yet.

Doris leaped backward, her breath already turning shallow as she noted in her mind how much of a freakish monster Alex actually was. No way a normal Vanguard Realm should possess this kind of raw overwhelming physical suppression.
Suddenly, Doris slid to a halt near the edge of the room. She wiped a stray bead of sweat from her forehead and looked at him with a fiery, competitive spark in her eyes.
"How about we crank things up a bit," Doris suggested, her small lips curving into a sharp grin. "And actually use our ability?’
Alex stopped his advance, lowering his hands slightly as a confident smirk played on his lips. He wanted to see how far her ability had improved in Vanguard Realm.
"Sure. Show me what you’ve got."
