Chapter 310: Limit [ 2 ]

They moved like they were having the time of their lives, disappearing in flashes only to reappear behind or above beasts striking with blades or hammers or even bare hands carrying enough power to leave permanent marks on the landscape.

Gigantic ditches crisscrossed now; some so deep they looked like scars cut into the desert by invisible blades

Golden sand trickled back slowly but never fast enough to erase damage before another attack landed.

The air thickened with dust, mingling with the sharp scent of spilled venom and blood as the five suns blazed overhead, casting a shimmering, distorted light over the chaotic scene, like a mirage turned real and violent.

Isis stole a glance at the ten colossal beasts that had just appeared, his eyes briefly scanning their massive forms before returning to admire the vast desert landscape, seemingly unfazed by the unfolding turmoil.

He stood with his hands clasped behind his back, posture relaxed and expression soft, his gaze fixed on the distant horizon where overlapping suns created beautiful waves of heat that made the far dunes appear to dance.

The chaos surrounding him felt like mere background noise compared to the serene honesty of sand and sky.

Beside him, his maid observed the battle with a blend of interest and calm, arms crossed as she tracked streaks of light and booming impacts.

After a moment, she murmured just loud enough for Isis to hear without disrupting the fight. "These beasts possess strength comparable to 5th Order Commander Beasts. If it were anyone else out there, they’d be dead by now, crushed under one swing of those tails or melted by venom before they even had a chance to react."

She sighed softly as she rubbed her temoles."But Gunther and the others are no pushovers either. Though Young Master has limited their strength, it will still be easy for them to take down these beasts. They’re moving faster than ever, relishing every moment as if this is some sort of game rather than a real fight."

Isis didn’t turn to her or glance at the ongoing battle; his voice remained quiet and steady as he continued observing how the sand shifted in small waves whenever a distant shockwave rolled through. "They’re having fun, and that’s fine. The desert doesn’t care about how strong these beasts are or how fast our men move; it simply endures everything we throw at it and gradually covers it up again. That kind of patience is rare. Most things either fight back or flee, but sand just waits. I find watching that more compelling than counting how many pieces those beasts end up in."

His maid nodded slowly, a small smile playing on her lips as another massive boom echoed through the air, one of the giant scorpions was sent flying backward from a combined attack by two warriors whose streaks of light intersected perfectly before vanishing again. "You always say things like that, Young Master. While everyone else gets swept up in excitement, you find tranquility amid all this chaos. I’ve seen you do it in the necropolis when we were swarmed by undead creatures and now here with these monstrous giants capable of leveling an entire city if they wished."

She looked at Isis with undisguised, overflowing admiration and continued."Others are grinning madly out there while turning those 5th Order beasts into nothingness; meanwhile, you’re talking about sand’s patience. Sometimes I wonder if anything could truly rattle your calm, even for just a moment."

He gave a small shrug, his eyes following the curve of a particularly bright dune that caught the light from one of the suns, making it glow almost white. "Losing my cool won’t make the fight end any faster or change what the desert is doing. The men know their limits and how to enjoy themselves without going overboard. That’s enough."

He gave a sideway glance at the maid with a small smile playing at the corner of his lips. "As for the beasts, they may be strong, but raw strength doesn’t guarantee victory when your opponent moves like light and strikes with the force of falling mountains. It’ll be over soon, and then the sand can start its work of covering everything again. Watching that cycle unfold is far more interesting than worrying about who lands a hit first."

She laughed lightly, shaking her head as the sounds of battle intensified around them, booms and roars echoing as the men pressed their advantage, their blinding speed making it seem as though they were fighting against ghosts that appeared and vanished at will. "You make it sound so simple. Most people would be barking orders or at least keeping a close eye on things to ensure they go their way. But you just stand here like we’re sightseeing. Still, I can’t argue with the results."

She pointed at a gigantic ravine that have just appeared. "Gunther just carved another ravine deep enough to hide an entire village, and the others are not far behind him. Those beasts are putting up a fight with their size and venom, but it’s clear they’re outmatched. The limit you placed on the men’s strength doesn’t seem to matter much when they’re this motivated."

The battle continued at an intense pace, streaks of light flashing brighter as destruction spread wider with each giant beast dismantled one by one. The desert took hit after hit; its golden surface was marked with deep scars and craters that began to fill slowly but never quite kept up with the speed of combat.

Isis remained in his spot, admiring the vast emptiness around them while his maid quietly observed and commented, her words blending seamlessly with the distant booms and roars, a rhythm that felt almost normal for their group.

In the end, all ten beasts met gruesome fates. Some had their bodies torn apart into large chunks of meat scattered across the dunes, mixing with sand before sinking out of sight.

Others were simply pulverized into bloody mist by overwhelming strikes; when these creatures exploded on impact, nothing remained but red sprays and small pieces of chitin raining down like grisly confetti before being whisked away by the wind.
