Chapter 175: Chapter 175: Despair From The Beginning
In Chronopolis, in front of Master Dorok’s Workshop, little Stella was watching the colossal silhouettes above the world.
Her eyes held no fear, only a longing.
"Brother Neo is here, Grandpa. I must meet him!"
Beside her, her grandfather, Master Dorok, smiled.
"Silly girl, there is a war going on out there. We do not know if we will survive, and you want to go there?"
"Nothing will happen to Earth, Grandpa. I know Brother Neo well. He will never do something that will harm the innocents."
Her eyes held a strange level of belief.
"That is true... I know his character too. But sometimes I fear he is not the same boy we once knew."
"Anyway, for now, we should wait. Once everything calms down, we can meet him!"
Stella smirked.
"You mean to say once the Federation dissolves, right?"
Dorok ruffled her hair. "Yes. None of them will be able to stop that brat."
--
General Aizenberg stood firmly at the helm of the Aegis, the premier Titan Class flagship of the United Federation’s armada.
Through the massive reinforced viewport, he stared directly at the three colossal LORD Class warships casting dark shadows over Earth.
Just an hour ago in the Grand Council Hall, a cold terror had gripped his heart. The mere name of Neo Godson had been enough to shake his battle hardened resolve. But now, standing amidst the glorious, organized formation of the Federation’s greatest military achievement, that momentary fear was rapidly being replaced by a familiar pride.
He looked at the tactical holographic displays surrounding his command seat. The Federation had mobilized all 50 of their Titan Class warships, 500 heavily armed dreadnoughts, and an astonishing 100,000,000 stellar soldiers.
It was a fleet capable of conquering entire star systems. They were the absolute apex of human engineering and military discipline.
’So what if he has three LORD Class ships?" A fortress is only as strong as the army defending it. He is just a single boy playing at being an emperor. Our overwhelming numbers will drown his arrogance in the cold vacuum of space.’
Beep!
"General Aizenberg, all forward Units are fully charged. Target locks confirmed on the central enemy flagship. Awaiting your supreme command."
Leander Aizenberg straightened his uniform.
He was a veteran of a hundreds of war. He knew how to break a planetary siege.
"Fire everything we have! Show this false Emperor the true wrath of the United Federation!" he ordered coldly.
Instantly, the dark expanse of space was illuminated by a blinding chaotic storm of destructive energy.
Buzz! Buzzzz! Buzzzz!
Thousands of heavy plasma beams, concentrated void torpedoes, and hyper velocity railgun slugs erupted from the Federation fleet.
It was a breathtaking, terrifying display of absolute firepower.
The combined assault slammed directly into the dark purple and golden energy shields of the Zenith warships, creating massive ripples of blinding light.
Aizenberg smiled proudly, "Let us see him deploy his defensive formation now. Also, prepare our Mecha Warriors for boarding actions!"
However, his confident smile froze perfectly in place as the blinding light from the explosions faded.
The three LORD Class warships were completely unharmed. Their energy shields didn’t even ripple.
Then, the massive hangar bays of the three Zenith fortresses slowly began to open.
"General! Massive energy spikes detected! Enemy forces are deploying!"
General Aizenberg replied,
"Bring up the biological scanners. Let us see what kind of mortal trash he brought to face our millions."
The holographic display was rendering the biological energy signatures of the descending Zenith army.
General Aizenberg suddenly stopped breathing.
The display did not show millions of ordinary soldiers. It showed a sea of terrifyingly dense cosmic energy aura. Every single dot on the scanner burned with the absolute power of a higher lifeform.
He couldn’t believe his own eyes.
"Recalibrate the scanners, Logan! That reading is impossible! There are no mortal life signatures!"
Falling back into his chair, the technician (Logan) wept,,
"The scanners are fully functional, General!" They are not mortals! Every single one of them is an awakened Beyonder! Two million... General, he has deployed two million Beyonders!"
The absolute silence of the grave descended upon the Aegis command deck.
Aizenberg felt his knees grow weak. His fierce, prideful heart completely shattered into a million pieces.
Two million Beyonders.
The United Federation, with all of its vast territories and billions of citizens, had only managed to cultivate exactly 100,000 Beyonders across their entire military history. It was a pathetic compared to the ofrce pouring out of the Zenith warships.
These were not ordinary soldiers who relied on plasma rifles and standard armor. These were two million walking natural disasters, each capable of tearing a dreadnought apart with their bare hands.
Aizenberg looked through the viewport as the sea of glowing, godlike warriors descended upon the Federation fleet like a swarm of cosmic locusts.
His son’s desperate warning echoed painfully in his mind.
""Surrender to him as soon as you see him. The Aizenberg family will be saved.""
The proud Patriarch finally understood the absolute truth. This was not a war. This was simply an extermination.
Meanwhile.
The colossal hangar doors of the Federation’s heavy dreadnoughts slammed open.
Riding A-rank top notch Mechas, the mighty Mecha warriors emerged.
Their high energy thirst illuminated the space under them.
Numbering in 90 Million, they were like a sea of mechanical monsters.
"Hold the line! Focus your fire! Bring those bastards down!"
The roar came from a Federation Vanguard through the communication channels.
Heeding to his command, millions of plasma bolts were shot from the Mecha Warriors simultaneously.
The volume of the volley was hight that it illuminated the dark sector of space, looking like a massive, deadly meteor shower flying directly upward.
But the two million Beyonders of the Zenith Empire couldn’t even be bothered.
They kept flying forward, looking as if they were foolishly charge for their deaths.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Those millions of high-powered plasma bolts slammed directly into the front lines of the Zenith army.
Seeing the blue energy explosions, the Federation soldiers cheered over their comms, fully expecting to see charred bodies floating endlessly in the void.
However, when the blue smoke cleared, it revealed a scene of paralyzing horror.
