Chapter 147: Mira Yang. . . is my wife. . .

The plan was set.

Hye Yang had been taken for a beast world alternative of a girl’s day and night out and Mu Yang was busy being occupied by the beast ladies.

Mira did not know how Shu Hua got to get so many beast women to take her side and willing do this but she was glad for it. It was strange, the beast people in the cheetah clan were nicer to her after the feast but the one person she wanted was not and she found out not long ago why.

Mira cleared her throat as she packed her hair up with a nicely cut attire that served as a scarf while staring at her reflection in the dying lake. She was dressed in the attire that was made with the cheetah skin she purchased that day and she had to admit, she looked good draped in cheetah fur.

On her ears and neck and arm were jewellery made in the cheetah clan and her body had the scent of flowers. She put so much into her appearance tonight, she wanted to look absolutely irresistible so when the aphrodisiac kicked in, her husband would have no one else to run to to mate with except from her.

Mira took two steps back from the lake then turned around to stare at the setting. It was a picnic setting, just like the one Ming Tao did for her, that this time, she had scented candles lit all around the place, illuminating the atmosphere and giving it a nice scent.

The prepared meat was at the center of the picnic sheet and stacked on top of each other were plates to use to serve the dish onto and feed him. Ming Tao should be on his way here any moment now and Mira had to try.

[ So, what if he runs? Imagine the moment he knows it is you, he chooses to leave. ]

Mira swallowed, that was the last thing she wanted to think about. She did not think it this far apparently. At first, she wanted to position some beast men at hidden spots so if anything went wrong, they would tie her husband but she knew no one in the cheetah clan would be willing to do such a thing to their king and she did not want Ming Tao to be here out of forced will. She wanted go get his mind off the hypnosis and to do that, she needed his head clear.

"He won’t." Mira said to system. "I chose this place specifically for that reason. It was where we put an end to a trauma with bonding. Surely, he would want to stay with me." Mira added. She heard footsteps nearing her way. She immediately tapped her cheeks and took a deep breath to calm herself then stood by the lake.

Ming Tao made his presence known. The moment he walked through those bushes blocking the lake, he stopped moving. His eyes rested on the nicely organised picnic before him then fixed on the woman standing alone in the preparation.

A scent filled his nose. He perceived fragrances he had never scented before and for a strange reason, it calmed down his nerves. His mind relaxed and he felt his ears twitch.

"Begone." He said to the men behind him. He did not want them to see what laid before him, it looked like an absolute paradise and something in him wanted to be the only one to sight it. He wanted to be the only one to sight her.

Why? Why did I want to be next to her? I was supposed to hate her, Ming Tao questioned in his mind. He felt a strange attraction to the woman before him and heat immediately brewed in his body.

The men bowed behind him then took their leave, now, it was just the two of them, alone at the dying lake.

"It is an honour to have you here, great king." Mira said and bowed her head. Her tongue was laced with a sultry tone that warmed its way to his heart.

Ming Tao’s brows furrowed. How could one woman look this beautiful? He asked in his mind. He wanted to resist her charm and walk away but every fibre in his body did the exact opposite. He took careful steps forward but maintained his distance. "You called for me under a guise. Why did you deceive me?" Ming Tao said. His voice was stern but not to stern, it was inviting and soft.

"Forgive me, my husband. But if I called for you, knowing it was me, would you come?" Mira asked. Her tone was warm and husky, she purred after her statement then cocked her head up slightly to meet his fierce gaze.

Ming Tao’s cheeks reddened. He cleared his throat and eased his brows. "Fair point." He said to Mira. "My time better be worth it." He added, now walking to the sheet spread on the ground. Ming Tao sniffed. He sniffed again. And again. His nose caught on an aroma he knew so well yet so vaguely. "What is this?" He asked.

Mira traced his gaze, it rested on the meat. Mira understood that Hye Yang must have hypnotised him well enough to make him forget that much and it broke her heart. "A delicacy I prepared for you, my king. Please allow me to treat you to it."

Ming Tao did not want to. His mind told him to stay away yet part of him wanted to remain there and taste this thing that let out so much aroma.

He said on the ground, right next to the meal. "Feed me." He commanded. Mira’s face brightened, she made her way to him and stayed in front of him. She helped out a plate then served some meat onto it with her hand. Ming Tao’s watched her handle the food delicately. His nose could not help but sniff her.

Her scent. . . It made him crave. . . . It brought a memory that seemed locked in his head and he could not help but drag her to him. Mira gasped at the force of his tug. He pulled her right to his body and his nose rested on her neck.

"Mira. . ." Ming Tao called, he took a deep inhale of her skin. "When did you smell so good?" Ming Tao shut his eyes, his hand held her body to him and he let his nose sink into the skin of her neck. He remembered. Her scent. How he let himself go lose and carefree with her. How much comfort her scent brought him. Ming Tao’s eyes widened. Mira was his wife. He knew before but it suddenly began to click in that she was his wife.

[It looks like Leading Cheetah Ming Tao may not need that aphrodisiac anymore, host! ] System chimed.
