Chapter 144: They took away everything?
Ming Tao’s frame gradually made its way to Mira’s gaze as he walked in.
Mira’s eyes scanned him from head to toe. He looked healthy. He looked fine and handsome as he always was. Mira stopped chewing her inner cheeks and bit her lower lip at the sight of him.
Seeing him in his human form after so long was bittersweet. She felt her walls weaken. He was so close to her yet felt so far away and it was driving her insane.
"To what do I owe this disturbance?" Ming Tao worded nonchalantly.
Power. Mira smelt it from where he stood. He did not seen intimidated by the Ruling Oracle one bit. It was like he was on par and that made Mira swallow. She really needed to embrace her status as his wife more seriously.
"Forgive the intrusion, we understand your that you have much to do but we need you on something so serious." One of the members uttered.
Ming Tao’s attention was on the spot there all were. He looked bored. He did not say a word. He waited for them to speak.
"The matter concerns your wife." The Oracle member added. It was then Ming Tao looked anywhere else that was not the Ruling Oracle. His gaze rested on Mira. Mira felt her breath hitch as his eyes made contact with hers.
She locked her eyes in his, staring at him with worry written across her face. The typical softness that clouded his gaze whenever he stared at her was gone and it made her worry.
"Speak to me." Ming Tao stated.
"Was Hye Yang banished from the Lion Clan?" The question felt heavy when it resounded in Mira’s ears.
Ming Tao darted his eyes from Mira and rested on Hye Yang who was still glued to the floor.
"Yes." He worded coldly.
This made Mira shut her eyes and let out a sigh of relief.
"Why?" The question shot through. Ming Tao said nothing, he just looked at the woman who was on the ground. Hye Yang shot her head up to look at Ming Tao. Her lips murmured something that was unheard.
This Made Mira’s brows crease.
"I. . ." Ming Tao started. It felt like his words were taken from his lips. "I can’t remember." He said.
Mira’s mouth widened and she let out a load of air in disbelief. "Come on Ming Tao, tell them the truth." Mira urged. She wanted to walk up to him and beg him to tap into his memories but even she knew he would rather not have her touch him. Plus, that would make it look like she was urging him to lie simply because they were bound together.
"Ming Tao," Hye Yang called. She stood up slowly and walked to him. Her lips whispered something that was unheard and Mira wondered if she was the only one seeing this. "My sister accuses me of something that I did not do. Please say the truth and let my name be cleared."
Mira felt her eyes water. It looked like Ming Tao was wrapped around Hye Yang’s little fingers and Mira hated to admit this. She looked up and blinked the tears that begged to run down her face.
"What was the accusation?" He asked, his voice a bland tone.
"Did Hye Yang in any way try to abort the children Mira Yang bore while she was pregnant while trying to take the life of another lion cub?" The question lingered in the air a while longer.
Ming Tao paused like he wanted to think. "No." He stated.
Mira nearly ran mad. She wanted to believe that he did not just say that and she imagined his statement.
"Then why was Hye Yang banished from the Lion clan?" Shot through the cave room.
"I do not know. I cannot remember." Ming Tao said.
Standing at Ming Tao’s side, Hye Yang’s lips began to curve. She looked like someone who had won. Mira did not know how her sister did it but her sister managed to manipulate her own husband to testify against her.
"Do you think it is possible that Mira Yang manipulated her husband to banish Hye Yang away from the Lion clan out of jealousy or any form of negative feelings held against Hye Yang?" Shot through the room.
"Yes, that is possible. Jia Hao was completely obsessed and in love with Mira Yang. Especially when she carried his child when that request was made, he would have acted based on his instinct, the bliss of being a father and wanting to reward the woman who would have made it possible." The more Ming Tao spat all these lies, the more Mira felt like her world was crumbling. She did not know how someone who shared her bed could lie so openly to her face in front of the Ruling Oracle.
Mira sniffed. It was getting harder to hide the tears that begged to roll down her cheeks.
"Where is Lion King Jia Hao currently?" Someone in the Ruling Oracle asked.
Ming Tao paused to think. "I do not know. He visited not too long ago but needed to make a journey that I have no knowledge about."
This was the only truth Mira heard him say throughout the time he arrived here.
"Is there any news of when he will be back?" The Ruling Oracle asked.
"None that I am aware of." Ming Tao responded.
"We hereby release the banishment of Hye Yang from the Lion Clan."
This was when Mira shot her head to face them. "You cannot do that! Lion King Jia Hao made that banishment and it is not something that can be released without his consent." Mira yelled. There was no way on earth that she would let her sister have access to the clan her own children now lived in.
"The banishment will be lifted until he is back from his journey. Then we can have all the facts needed to make further decisions." The Ruling Oracle responded to Mira.
Mira frowned. "I am his wife. This beast world is ran on female supremacy. My law is his law and I refuse to let this happen!" Mira stated, her voice, although quivering carried weight.
"You have been away and caused so much suffering to the beast people to have any power of your own to make any laws, Mira Yang. Until you redeem yourself completely and are sure to be safe for the beast people, you cannot make solo decisions and orders."
Hearing this made Mira sink her teeth into her lower lip. Her fists clenched. Everything about this was so wrong.
"Thank you for your kindness, my lords." Hye Yang said. "You have freed me from my injustice."
Mira’s jaw clenched. She felt absolutely powerless and she hated that her own husband was the reason this had happened. She was so close to getting what she wanted.
"But my lords, I have to ask, will Mira Yang be set free from her marriage duties to the beast rulers? I too am a true born." Hye Yang asked.
Mira wanted to run away before they said something that would strip her of everything she came here to protect. Her eyes wandered from Hye Yang to Ming Tao then to the Ruling Oracle. A response came. And that response dulled every single thing in Mira’s mind.
