Chapter 123: Make my hole dry as sand
Mira did not know why but felt unsafe, like something predatory was locked with the atmosphere and she did not like it.
"What are you. . ." Mira began, she cut her own words shut and tried to process why she was seeing him here. The time for assuming she was hallucinating was gone, but even with Hye Yang in the cheetah clan, Mu Yang was the last person she expected to see. The asshole that the old owner of this body chased like a drugged fool. Mira sized the man standing before her in disbelief. He was uglier than in the old Mira’s memories.
So this was the wimp she traded her husbands for? This thing? He was quarter the man her husbands were. Mira could not help but feel disgusted. The old owner of this body was not only blind but she was addicted to the wrong shit.
"What business do you have here?" Mira stated firmly. She knew how this man was around the old Mira, she did not want her voice to insinuate any kind of longing or attention. She was not into him in the slightest.
Mu Yang took his time to run his eyes up and down her body. It was then Mira realised she was naked. She used her hand to block her tits then reached for a cloak. She wrapped it around her body and yelled. "Eyes up here! The only men who deserve to stare at me without anything on are my husbands!" Mira barked.
Mu Yang’s eyes widened. Never had Mira spoken like this to him before. She always did what he wanted except staying away and now, her voice did not hold the same craving like it did before. He grinned, if this was some sort of trick to get him to want to talk to her, it was working. "Why so feisty, Mira Yang?" Mu Yang asked, he took a step forward. "Haven’t you always wanted me to be drawn to you? Letting me see what no one else sees is the first step to that." He took another step forward.
Mira panicked, Mu Yang had that predatory look in his eyes. Mira immediately did a calculation in her mind on how to get out of this. When it came to strength, he was stronger, when it came to their beasts, he was also more prominent as she could not shift. And there was no one else here but the river. It was just the two of them. And she was pregnant. The odds did not seem to be in her favour.
"Get out of here before I call my husband. He will kill you." Mira threatened. Boasting of Ming Tao was her best bet right now, no fox needed divine knowledge to know they could not out run or out strength a cheetah. And crossing Ming Tao would be crossing his entire clan. My Yang might have nothing in his brain but surely he cannot be an entire simpleton, Mira thought.
"Your husband." Mu Yang chorused. He was coming closer to her. "Does he even pay you attention right now?"
Mira felt something in her break.
"Rumours spread fast, little one." Mu Yang stated. It was then it hit Mira where she heard that nick name. Ming Tao never referred to her as ’little one’ before, it was Mu Yang. It had always been Mu Yang, he called her that to tell her he was never interested in her and saw her only as a child. Mira’s brows creased, she wondered if Mu Yang and Ming Tao met and if that was why Ming Tao referred to her the way he did. Maybe seeing Mu Yang triggered him and he acted out on her, it would make a lot of sense.
"Excuse me, I do not have time for you." Mira stated, her voice stern as she bent to pick up her attire. She held the cloak at the centre of her chest and held everything else in her other hand. She had brought the cloak as a storage for the bath supplies before and now she was glad she carried it with her. Mira walked past Mu Yang and his next reaction proved he did not like being ignored by her.
With a forceful hold on her arm, he pulled her backwards to face him. This threw Mira off her balance. He handled her so roughly everything in her hand fell out. Her brows narrowed with worry. She was with child, she could not afford to be pushed around like that.
"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU??" She raged, her expression unpleasant.
Mu Yang’s grin shifted into an eerie smirk. "Has anyone ever told you that you are way more attractive when you put up a fight? Not when you throw yourself at me."
Mira scoffed. She swung her hand multiple times to break free from his hold but his grip did not loosen. She did not stop trying. "And has anyone ever told you how pathetic you are holding onto faded memories?" Mira looked at him straight in the eyes, if he was not going to get the hint, she would spell it out for him. "I used to have a thing for you but now, when I see you, all I feel is repulsion and disgust. You make my hole dry up like sand in a drought. You make my skin crawl and I would rather be in a pool of poisonous bugs than be in the same place with you." Now, she shoved her hand out of his grip with a harder push. Mira felt the hardness of his hold still on her skin after his hand was gone. That bastard held her too tightly.
"Now run along and be with people who actually want to be with you, peasant!" She stated. Mira immediately switched to a mocking tone. "If there are still any, considering you’re after me this much." She laughed so loudly just to let it get to him. After insulting this man’s ego this much, Mira knew she needed to get out of here, and fast.
