Chapter 93: First Citizens

There was a very big line on the island.

Finally, two and a half hours later, Dhruv reached the last person in line, and the last person happened to be the priestess herself. When she reached him, she bowed and thanked him for his generosity before standing beside him.

Phew! Finally!

Dhruv let out a sigh of relief when the last member of the group had been marked with his Mark of Asteri.

’Shit, this method of granting everybody a mark individually is so slow. I have to find another way if I really want to increase the members of this island,’ he thought, realizing that it had taken almost three hours to complete marking them all.

After completing the mark he looked over the island and found the member of the tribe strolling over the island, some children were touching the Azarex undead and some were just viewing the sea.

He looked beside himself and found the priestess there. He opened his mouth to speak but closed it twice before finally speaking,

"Lyra, how do you plan to live on the island when there are no resources to build anything?"

Hearing Dhruv’s concern, she chuckled a bit and replied, "You don’t have to worry, Your Majesty. Everything will be sorted out when we enter the third wave."

Why did you laugh at my question? "How can you say this with confidence,"

"It is what it is," she replied with a smile.

Even though Dhruv didn’t receive a clear answer, he had guessed that it had something to do with her ability to see the future.

’It sure is a handy ability,’ he thought, but then he remembered the price she had to pay for owning such an ability and shuddered. Dhruv wanted to check her status to know exactly what she could see, but before he could do that he heard she was saying something and stopped,

"You don’t have to worry about us; we brought some tents with us for temporary use," she said.

"Speaking of tents, how did you manage to build that boat all by yourselves?" Dhruv asked, still amazed by this fact. Living in an era where everything was done by machines, he was genuinely surprised to learn that the tribe had built the boat all by themselves, and in just three days, no less.

"Life in the forests isn’t the best, as you know, Majesty, and there were times when food in the forests became scarce. So, we had to learn how to build these things to ensure our tribe didn’t starve. By the grace of our goddess, we haven’t faced such dire times yet," Lyra explained.

"Hmmm," Dhruv couldn’t say much and simply nodded.

Recalling something he Changed the topic and said "One of your tribe members, what was his name... N... Nati..."

"No, Navi, my lord," Lyra corrected him.

"First of all, stop calling me ’my lord’ in every sentence.Yes, Navi mentioned that you guys were attacked during your journey to this island. What type of monster attacked you?" Dhruv asked.

Dhruv asked this question because he was preparing himself for a potential attack from that monster, suspecting that they were the same group of monsters that had been devouring the corpses they had been tossing into the sea.

"Those fish monsters were about the size of a human, and their appearance was mostly fish-like, except they had limbs at the start and end of their body. From what Thala could interpret, he believes they might be undergoing a mutation to hunt on land as well," Lyra explained.

"Was that all?" Dhruv inquired.

"No, there was another type of monster. It was almost five to six meters in length and had a completely snake-like body. It had strong, black scales covering its body and had the ability to use water magic," Lyra explained, providing the exact details the elder had shared with her.

"Anything else?" Dhruv pressed.

"No," Lyra replied, indicating that she had shared all the information she had.

"So, you encountered two variants of the same type of monster—one evolving to hunt on land while the other is its normal version that hunts in the sea using its powerful water magic," Dhruv summarized.

"Yes, that’s pretty much it," Lyra confirmed.

As he absorbed all this information, he began to visualize how these monsters would look and how much more dangerous they could become when they fully mutated.

While he was contemplating their possible mutations, a sudden realization struck him.

’Fuck, didn’t I provide them with enough food to aid in their mutations?’ he thought, cursing himself for not realizing this earlier, especially when he had theorized the existence of sea monsters.

"We should have burned the corpses," he thought, but then he realized that it might not have been a good idea either, considering the amount of smoke it would generate.

’But at least it would have been better than feeding our potential enemies,’ he thought, regretting his decision.

Noticing the sudden silence, Lyra asked, "Is anything wrong, Majesty?"

Still majesty "No, nothing is wrong," he dodged the question, not wanting to damage the image they had just begun to build.

Dhruv talked with Lyra for another five minutes before he walked away found an empty space and sat on the chair he had just created.

’Let’s see what her status looks like,’ Dhruv thought, and with that intention in mind, he tried to access her status. After a moment, the information about her status appeared in front of him.

-------

Name: Lyra

Species: Human [Variant Asteri]

Class: Moon Priestess

Level: 1 [Tier III]

Magic Affinity: Moonlight (A)

Stats: Strength Lv. 20, Stamina Lv. 34, Agility Lv. 37, Magic Power Lv. 95

Exclusive attributes: Prophet, Mark of Asteri

-------

Noticing her level, which was currently 1, Dhruv concluded that she must have just reached tier 3 just recently.

Dhruv found her class, "Moon Priestess," very interesting. According to the class description, her ability to perform rituals at night would have a very high success rate, and she would learn more about rituals as she advanced in this class. As a priestess, she could also pray to the goddess and ask for her intervention in certain matters, although the results were not within her control.

Looking down, he also found her magic affinity quite interesting.

’Moonlight, how unique. I wonder how it compares to light affinity or if it’s something completely different,’ he thought briefly. He wanted to read its description as well but found himself distracted when his gaze went to the Prophet’s ability.

He clicked on the ability to see its description, but before he could see the full description, another notification layer appeared over it, saying:
