Chapter 94: Rewards
As Dhruv looked at the evaluation menu, he completely forgot to check the description of the Prophet, and his gaze got fixated on that single notification and everything around it became blurry.
As seconds passed, Dhruv could feel his heart rate increasing. He was getting more nervous with each passing moment, uncertain about the results he would receive this time. Deep down, he knew that he had performed and accomplished even more impressive feats than during the first quest, but there was still a lingering doubt in his mind.
Like a child Dhruv closed his eyes and then opened them ever so slightly, peeking from the blurry corner of his vision, hoping that the results would appear sooner. However, the evaluating button continued to blink...
Dhruv wasn’t the only one holding his breath in anticipation. Everyone on the island, or perhaps even around the world, had their eyes fixated on that button.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the Evaluating button changed to something else...
[The orphan, whose family had been torn apart, discovered a way to create life after encountering a mysterious stone. He transformed from a nobody into a creator and ascended to the status of a king. The once lonely boy had finally taken his first step towards realizing his dream.]
After reading the evaluation note, Dhruv found it logical but also felt a pang of hurt. Just like last time, it reminded him of his status as an orphan. He looked at the message with a mix of bittersweet emotions and continued reading the rest...
[You are the first person to ....]
[You are the ....]
[You are ....]
[You ....]
Dhruv found multiple such notifications notifying and congratulating him about his achievement that he was the first to learn tier 2 magic, first to kill tier 3 monsters, first to reach tier 3, and many more.
[You are the first person to use magic from more than five elements.]
[You have obtained a skill of unknown rank.]
[You have created life.]
[You have created a new species.]
This was the last of his achievements. The cosmos had stopped its list of accomplishments and had finally shown him his result.
Dhruv didn’t immediately scroll the list... No, he stopped there and absorbed the magnitude of what he had achieved during the second quest.
The weight of his accomplishments settled on his shoulders, filling him with a sense of purpose and determination for what lay ahead. With a satisfied smile, he scrolled down...
[You have achieved the impossible again.]
[Final appraisal: Majestic.]
[You have received a diamond chest as a reward.]
’So, no exclusive ability this time. What a shame’ Dhruv sighed.
Just like before, a diamond chest was spinning in his hand. As he gazed at the shininess of the chest, a creepy smile began to creep over his face. It was a good thing that nobody was looking at him at that moment.
Why would they, anyway? Everyone was too busy staring at their own rewards.
Before opening the chest, Dhruv called out to the trio telepathically and told them to come near him so he could check what type of chest they had gotten. After a moment, the trio joined him. The moment he glanced at them; he realized something was wrong...
"Vexar, where’s your reward?" Dhruv asked, his expression filled with confusion.
Upon hearing Dhruv’s voice, Vexar swiftly flaunts his new sword to Dhruv.
"Is that all? What was the rank of your chest?" Dhruv asked confused.
"No, master, he also received a potion of some sort, which he had already consumed," Alaric explained in Vexar’s place.
"Of course, you would do that. Do you recall the type of potion it was, Vexar?" Dhruv inquired, thinking what could have been the potion’s contents.
’Don’t tell me you drank poison,’ Dhruv began to think of various bad possibilities, but before his thoughts could wander too far, Vexar’s voice echoed.
"Of course, master, I know the potion’s name. It was called..." Vexar paused, gazing into the sky as he tried to recall the name of the potion.
Dhruv was about to scold him, but Vexar was one step ahead and mutterd,
"It was bloodline enhancing potion. Yes! That was exactly what it was," the demon muttered. Even thought he had mentioned this but there was still a hint of confusion on his face.
Dhruv was on the verge of scolding him, but Vexar knew what was about to come and quickly added, "It was a bloodline-enhancing potion. Yes, that’s exactly what it was,"
Even though Vexar had said this with confidence there was still a trace of uncertainty plastered over his face.
Phew!
Dhruv breathed a sigh of relief when he discovered that the potion’s content wasn’t harmful and was actually beneficial to him. After some more interrogation, he learned that after drinking the potion, Vexar was feeling a growing heat inside him.
The heat inside him kept increasing with each passing second, and after a minute he suddenly felt incredibly sleepy, despite having slept all night. While he was talking, his voice suddenly became weak, and he dozed off right where he was standing and began to snore.
Noticing this sudden change in behavior, Dhruv calmly examined Vexar’s entire body using the sorcerer’s gaze and found that everything seemed fine. He then summoned one of the undead to fetch his bed so that he could sleep peacefully.
After dealing with Vexar, Dhruv turned his attention to Alaric and Azarex. As he looked at their hand he found that the chest in their hands had a slightly silvery-white hue. With this observation, he deduced that their chest rank wasn’t at the Diamond level and might be one or two steps below his own.
Not wanting to delay any further, he looked at both of them and asked, "What was the result of your appraisal?"
"I received a ’Superb’ as my appraisal and was rewarded with a platinum chest," Alaric replied.
"Me too, Master," Azarex chimed in.
"I believe Vexar received the same reward as us," Alaric remarked, recalling the color of his chest.
"What reward did you receive, Master?" Azarex asked when he noticed the chest in Dhruv’s hand which had a different color.
"Ohhh! I received ’Majestic’ as my appraisal and was awarded a Diamond chest," Dhruv replied not sounding ’proud’ at all.
"Majestic, quite befitting, my Lord," Alaric praised while Azarex nodded in agreement.
"Alright, let’s open our chests," Dhruv instructed them, and he began to do the same.
Upon confirming the notification to open the chest, it exploded into tiny pieces, leaving behind a single notification along with two items.
