Chapter 60: Asteri
[You have reached the maximum level of your species...]
"Uh... huhh! What species..." Dhruv shudders as he realizes that he’s about to evolve his entire species, not just his class.
After walking for a minute back and forth, he managed to calm down and accept the fact that his life was about to take a drastic turn.
After wondering how this could have happened, he quickly connected the dots and realized that this must have been a result of his fusion with the monster core.
But knowing didn’t reduce the worry one bit, and with a worried look, he looked at the rest of the notification...
[You have reached the maximum level of your species.]
[Do you want to evolve...]
But before the message could complete and show him the evolution options he could choose from, another type of notification filled his vision..
[Error! Error! Error...]
Numerous error messages began to pop up in front of him. After a second, the only thing he could see was a wall of red screen with the word error in front of him.
"What is happening.." Dhruv shouted.
With each new error message, his blood pressure reached a new height.
Along with the rise of his blood pressure, he also began to deeply regret his decision to fuse with the monster core.
"I shouldn’t have fused with the core. Not only didn’t I get any power up! All I’m getting is pain and now even my evolution got some error in it..."
Dhruv was almost on the verge of crying from all the nervousness. But like some god send savior, a new notification rose from within the cluster of red messages.
It came in a green box and says...
[You have been stripped from your previous species human.]
[Searching for a species which suits you most.]
[Task has been failed!]
[You do not belong to any species within the cosmos...]
"Why are these depressing messages coming in green boxes?" Dhruv was about to shout more, but suddenly closed his mouth when he read the next part of this combined message.
[...Congratulation! You have created a new species within.]
[As the Progenitor of the species, choose a name...]
"Huh! What the fuck? What is happening, cosmos? The only thing I wanted was some power so I could protect those who are dear to me. What is all this complicated shit?"
"How come I just created a new species when the only member I know of is me..."
"This shit is just tooo complicated.."
Dhruv wanted none of this and wanted to just get out of this realm or complete his evolution.
But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t find any way to escape from this situation. And whenever he tried to access his evolution option, the same thing would just keep repeating itself.
Fed up with this bullshit, he opened the menu where he could enter the name of his species and started typing the very first thing that came to his mind..
He began by typing the letter "A" first, then his finger slipped to the second letter in the second row.
For the third word, he selected the fifth letter from the first row. Then, in that same row, he also picked the fourth letter, which was in the third spot.
The fifth letter was the one right after the fourth. And finally, for the last word, he clicked on the eighth letter of the first row.
Once all the letters had been combined, he gazed at the word and felt satisfied with his choice, even when it was just a name he came up with on the spot. The name he had chosen was...
"ASTERI!! Ahhhh! This has a nice ring to it," Dhruv exclaimed with a satisfied expression as he confirmed his selection.
The moment he confirmed his choice, a new notification appeared in front of him...
[Your species is now ASTERI.]
[You have gained the title and exclusive ability: PROGENITOR.]
[These are the abilities of your species.
Metamorphosis
None
None
None... ]
Before he could open and check the description of the title and ability he had just acquired with this new species, another notification appeared in front of him, informing him that he could continue with the evolution.
Closing the ability screen, he once again accessed his evolution option...
[Do you want to continue your evolution]
[Yes/No]
With a sense of joy, he clicked on the "YES" button.
As soon as the "YES" button was pressed, the available evolution options appeared in front of him...
[You have reached the maximum level of your species
These are the options available to you.
Master Asteri Metalist (Rare)
Master Asteri spearman (Rare)
Master Asteri magician (Rare)
Master Asteri Warrior (Rare)
Asteri Progenitor (Unique) ]
"Hoooho!!, Four rare and one unique rank evolution..." With an enthusiastic expression, he eagerly clicked on the first option to read its description.
[Master Metalist: Through the evolution of Master Asteri Metalist, you will attain an exceptional mastery over metal magic, to the point where your all your focus will be on metal. ’S’. Your progress in the realm of metal magic will grow exponentially. With this evolution, your affinity with metal will be increse by one rank, provided it is currently below the rank
Your Vein would change from being made out of flesh to being made out of [Metal mana vein]. The metal mana vein will allow the smooth flow of metal mana. But remember, with this vein planted in your body, the flow of different elements of mana would be extremely difficult.
The skills <Mangetism>, <Metal Mensing>, <Metallic Disguise>, <Golem Creation >, and <Metalic Aura> will be provided with a bonus of 30 in both Strength and Magical power.]
"Such, a long description,"
Dhruv was confused at first, but the more he carefully read the description, the more he was surprised—surprised by the fact of how much advantage this evolution is going to provide if he only going to be using metal magic..
The increase in affinity was wasted on him, as he already had an S rank affinity in metal magic. But the thing he was most surprised by was the new organ he got: [Metal mana vein].
"...And talking about the metal mana vein, I sure had transformed into a monster. I guess you have to be careful about what you wish for..."
Dhruv was pretty surprised by the fact that he had transformed into a monster, but it wasn’t at the level where he would get depressed about this fact. On the contrary, he was quite chill about this fact, and why wouldn’t he?
After all, his main goal was to get stronger, and now that he is a monster
, there are far more ways to achieve that compared to when he was human.
"This is good, but let’s continue..."
