Chapter 308: About Dungeons

Aurora continued observing as Dhruv moved toward the throne and eventually sat on it.

’Isn’t that looks great on him...’ She thought. Seeing him sitting on the throne gave her a strange satisfaction. It was like she had achieved the first task of her creation.

’Now... what?’ Before Aurora could do anything, she heard her master once again.

"So, let’s see what exclusive abilities you possess."

’My exclusive ability... yes, I have two... Stellar Soul and Dungeon Keeper. What about them?’ she thought, confused as to why he wanted to see her exclusive abilities.

Finding it strange, she opened her status and looked at her exclusive ability panel:

[Exclusive Ability: Soul Bond, Stellar Soul, Dungeon Keeper, Mark of Asteri]

Staring at the screen for a few seconds, Aurora thought, ’I got another two exclusive abilities. Is that the doing of Master or a result of my resurrection?’

Knowing that exclusive ability isn’t something that one could get... unless certain conditions are met. Aurora found it strange that now suddenly she not only had one but two new ones on her list.

Hoping to know about them further she started with Soul Bond.

[Soul Bond: You are bonded with your master through souls.]

Before Aurora could fully understand what the description meant, she felt something wrong around her.

Her mana senses tingled as she sensed mana moving in front of her. Before she could understand the meaning of it, a metal spear appeared against her forehead.

She could feel the heat penetrating her skull through the spear but remained silent trying to understand the situation.

She was expecting her master to attack any moment but what came next surprised her,

"Do you remember everything?"

Instead of an attack, a question came flying her way.

Hearing the question, it didn’t take long for Aurora to understand everything. She now knew why he was acting this close to her despite being the one who killed her previously.

’So, Master thought I would lose my memory. Is that a symptom of resurrection?’ To not delay her answer any longer, Aurora stopped her thoughts and looked at him with a smile.

"Yes, Master. I remember everything clearly," she replied with a smile, not containing even a single trace of hostility or malice.

Sigh!

In response to her answer Aurora heard a sigh coming from her master’s mouth.

"How much?" Dhruv asked trying to judge the danger.

"How much what, Master?" she asked in confusion.

"H-How much do you remember? How much past do you remember." Dhruv asked again... trying to be as clear as possible.

Aurora bit her lips as she remembered something, looking in his direction she muttered, "Everything, Master. From my birth to my death. I remember everything clearly,"

The moment she said so, a silence descended on the room as Dhruv was forced to think about it for a second. With a face full of confusion, he opened his mouth,

"Birth? You were born and not created in the dungeon?"

Dhruv asked in confusion. After learning about the Dungeon Keeper, he was somewhat certain that the monsters inside the dungeon were created in some way.

The difference he thought was that their creation happened in a way that almost looked natural. They, their surroundings, and even the dungeon itself were just artificially created and not natural.

But now... at this moment, his entire view was being challenged.

"Yes, Master, I was birthed, not created..." Aurora answered, trying to remain as calm as possible. She did not understand why Master was asking such obvious questions.

Suddenly, something clicked inside her as pieces began to fall into place.

’Is it... is it that I was placed in a world that is newly introduced to mana? A world that has experienced Cosmic Evolution recently? but...’

She thought it made sense, but then something didn’t quite fit right.

’...But how can a mutant be created on a newly evolved planet? Have they reached this place as well... no, no that can’t be possible. If this is a new planet then it must still be in the third or fourth quest and they can’t be here this early.’

’...What is going on? Nothing makes sense’ She tried to come up with an answer, but the more she thought, the more difficult it became.

Before she could think further, the voice disturbed her again. Controlling her thoughts she forced on the questions.

"Were you born in the dungeon? What about your parents? What about your first generation?" Dhruv asked, trying to get as much information as possible.

"No, Master, I wasn’t born in the dungeon, nor were my parents, and that holds true for my first generation as well," Aurora replied with some hesitation.

Being a princess, she needed to know her family history thoroughly, and she was diligent in doing that. She was sure that none of her generation came from a dungeon... if that such thing was even possible.

The answer was so strange that Dhruv lost control over his spell. Observing the neutral stance of Aurora, he didn’t cast any other spells and continued staring at her in bewilderment.

Thinking for a second, he asked another question.

"If you were not born in a dungeon, then how are you here? Is this dungeon connected to your world or something like that?"

Trying to confirm whether the dungeon was a portal to another dimension, Dhruv asked. If she was not born here then this makes the perfect sense.

For the first time during their conversation, Aurora hesitated. She shivered for a bit before controlling herself.

Looking at her master, she replied, "I was born on my planet like others, Master... and the reason for me being in this dungeon is because I was kidnapped."

She took a deep breath.

"...I was placed here against my will."

"To answer your other question: No, the dungeons are not portals to another dimension. The truth is that they exist in an entirely different dimension, separated from our own cosmos..."

She sighed.

"...Or that’s what the sages of my and every other species say."

Saying these words, Aurora stopped talking as painful memories began to surface.

"Wait-Wait what? You were kidnapped..." Dhruv asked losing his composure.
