Chapter 290: Great Arachnid Mother Boss

As the fight continued, the gap only seemed to be getting wider and wider.

Vexar’s eyes gleamed with a crimson flame as he pressed the advantage. He danced around the monster, avoiding its lethal strikes with fluid footwork while simultaneously retaliating with deadly precision.

Flames began to erupt from his entire body as Vexar forgot about defense.

Finding the perfect opportunity, the spider pressed forward. A leg struck his shoulder, the impact nearly dislocating it.

The flame concentrated as the pain vanished within moments. Slowly Vexar was transforming into his demonic form, and unlike Dhruv, he had full control over this original body of his.

Flames erupted from his cracked skin as horns began to form over his head. The steel of his blade turned crimson-hot as the air around it began to shimmer just from being in its presence.

Lifting himself from the ground, Vexar retaliated with a powerful upward slash, severing the leg at the joint. The monster screamed, ichor spraying from the stump.

Hehehehehehehehe!

Maniacal laughter filled the cave as Vexar succumbed to his desire. As time passed, his attacks became more savage, more relentless. He was a whirlwind of steel and flame, his movements a blur of deadly intent.

The spider screamed in pain as its defenses began to crumble under the assault. As time passed, its movements grew sluggish, its strikes became less coordinated and more savage.

Vexar’s relentless onslaught was wearing it down, each blow chipping away at its formidable armor. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

Having no way out the boos was forced in a corner. With a final, desperate lunge, the spider aimed its fangs at Vexar’s core... this was its last hope.

Hehehh!

Its attack was met with a mocking laugh as Vexar caught the monster’s fang with his bare hand. Acid burned his hand but was healed at the same time.

Grabbing the monster with one hand, he lifted the blazing sword in the other. With a hint of sadness that the fight was about to end, he drove the blade into the monster’s mouth, piercing through the roof and into its brain.

Vexar didn’t stop there. Manipulating his mana, he sent a barrage of pure flame into the monster’s brain.

The spider convulsed, its legs thrashing wildly. With a wide grin, Vexar twisted the sword, driving it deeper.

Screeeecchhhh!

The monster let out a final, ear-splitting screech before collapsing in a heap, its body twitching as the last vestiges of life left it.

[You have killed a unique monster: Great Arachnid Mother Boss]

[You have earned exp.]

[You have earned 150K CC.]

[You have leveled up.]

[....]

[....]

.

.

[You have reached the maximum level for your species. Do you want to evolve?]

[Yes/No]

Cosmos announced his victory but Vexar stood there silent... looking at the fallen creature, his chest heaving, his body battered and bruised. The bruises didn’t last long though... as they healed in no time.

The cavern was silent, the echo of the battle still reverberating through the stone walls. Vexar took a moment to look at the monster; he had won the battle, but...

...He wasn’t satisfied yet.

He wanted more.

He craved more.

He wanted the fight to last for eternity.

Suddenly, his thoughts were interrupted as a voice echoed in the cave, "Well done."

"You really are something else," Grec finished with a hint of relief and pride.

Vexar chuckled, a hoarse laugh leaving his mouth. "Told you I could handle it."

"Of course... I didn’t doubt it for a second," Grec nodded as a cough left his mouth.

Nodding his head, Vexar retrieved the sword from the monster and wiped the blood off. Even after the battle, the blade was still shimmering with residual flame, a testament to the power Vexar currently wields.

[What are we going to do with this thing?] With the help of the mark, Vexar asked the question.

[Well, everything will go as the master had perceived. There will be no change... but I must say something,] Grec replied as his expression changed for the worse.

[What?] Not having a good feeling, Vexar asked instantly.

[I don’t understand why you messed up the corpse this much even after knowing its purpose,] Grec answered as he looked at the corpse.

[B-But...] Vexar wanted to respond, but no excuse came to mind. After all, he was only good at fighting.

Remembering that he had a phoenix flame, he quickly bent down and tried to feed the flame to the monster. But to his disappointment, nothing happened; the flame had no effect on the corpse.

Gulping a mouthful of saliva, he began to look for any other way to mend the wounds on the monster.

"Hehe!" Looking at the panicked state of the demon, a chuckle escaped Grec’s mouth.

’He really nothing except fight.’ Vrec thought as he found his prank working.

Seeing the ruthless demon panicking was truly a sight to behold. The prank wasn’t even elaborate; he had just said something nonsensical, and Vexar had assumed it to be true.

I mean, how could the master be angry at him for killing the monster ruthlessly? Who’s to say if he were to go easy, the one on the floor wouldn’t be him instead?

"What?" Oblivious to everything, Vexar asked.

"Nothing... it’s just that I love you, demon. You really are something else," Grec muttered. He truly found the presence of this brother... soothing.

While the brothers were laughing and giggling, the others felt like their souls were stuck in their throats.

Picking the core from the spider, the old man whispered, "Did you see how he fights? I couldn’t imagine being his opponent."

Hearing his words, Grace looked at him with bewilderment and whispered, "What do you mean, being his opponent? After seeing that last scene, I don’t want to be beside him during a fight. Did you feel the heat during the battle?"

"True... I could feel my skin burning. And we were this far away," Raina added.

"What fire this and fire that. All you guys care about is magic. Did you see his swordsmanship... his footwork? How he dodged and parried all eight of the monster’s limbs with just his one sword," Olivia commented, impressed by his swordsmanship.

"I agree."

"His Majesty really has a way with swords."

"Yeah! Now shall we focus on collecting cores? We have to leave the dungeon as well," Kamal whispered, annoyed by them mentioning Vexar as a demonic, ruthless killer.

’What are these guys talking about? Killer... demonic... huh! They don’t know a thing. I personally found him hot... I mean, hot like fire. I should probably learn magic from him,’ she thought, a blush appearing on her face as she imagined learning magic from Vexar.
