Chapter 229: So Far Behind In Mutation
Putting a slice of meat in front of him, Dhruv whispers once again, "Fusion..."
In a matter of seconds, the meat transformed into essence and began to fuse with his body. After a second, the result presented itself in the form of raw numbers.
[You have gained 9 essence points.]
’It’s almost doubled in amount compared to tier 3, giving me about 9 essence points for one slice. It is much better as I can still manage to fuse with one more slice of this.’ Dhruv thought as he looked at the notification in front of him.
’Fuse...’ Whispering, Dhruv fused another slice of bear meat with himself. Feeling full, he began to wait for the notification to appear. Just a few seconds later, a blue box appeared in front of him.
[You have gained 8 essence points.]
Putting one lip over another, Dhruv thought, ’Why isn’t the essence I get from these monsters consistent? Did I have to add the command to spread it evenly next time?’
’...Hmm! That might work. Talking about essence, what is the progress of my status.’ Thinking this, Dhruv looks at the rest of the monster’s meat.
Knowing that it would last him for about a day or two, he swiftly placed the leftovers inside his inventory. Curious to know how much essence he had accumulated in the past three days, Dhruv opened his status.

’So, I have about 103 essences left. How many would it need to evolve all my organs to tier 1 at least?’ Thinking this, Dhruv began to do math on his fingers.
He was quickly forced to realize that he couldn’t do this ’high-level calculation’ on his fingers. With an embarrassed smile, he brought out his notebook and pen.
After an unknown amount of time, he was finally able to reach a conclusion.
"So, I need about 60 to evolve everything to tier Ⅰ. 227 Essence points will be needed if I want to evolve all my organs to tier Ⅱ and 520 to reach tier Ⅲ. So in total, I need about 807, of which I have 103... ahhh! In short, I’m quite far behind." Gulping his saliva, Dhruv whispered.
"If I get about 16 essences in one setting from the tier 4 monster, then I would need 44 settings. I can fuse four times ...maybe even a maximum of 5 if I push past my limit. So, in total, I need about 10 days of fusing to get there."
It didn’t take him long to realize his mistake of not eating or getting essence points from the very beginning.
With a forced smile on his face, he thought something, ’Well, I think I shouldn’t greed for tier Ⅲ for the time being and first evolve everything to tier Ⅰ at least.’
Nodding his head, he straightened his decision and decided to start investing the essence points in the organs.
"Should I evolve here... Nahhh! It would be too dangerous after all; I don’t want tier 4 monsters attacking me while I’m in the midst of my evolution." Thinking this, Dhruv began to walk toward the portal.
Entering it, he once again appeared in the realm where white wasn’t the dominant color. Knowing there was going to be so much scrolling involved in this, Dhruv created a chair and peacefully sat on it.
’So, which one of you will be the first to get involved.’ Thinking this, Dhruv opened his status and got to the mutation section. He didn’t wander on that as he found the very first target of his evolution.
[Do you want to invest 12 essence points in Sorcerer’s eyes.]
[Yes/No]
Nodding his head, Dhruv clicked on the yes button. Instead of activating the evolution, another screen appeared in front of him.
[Sorcerer’s eyes have reached +5.]
[Please select an advancement for the organ.]
With this notification, a list of possible advancement options began to present itself in front of him. Clearing his mind, Dhruv began to read each and every advancement.
At the start of the page, all normal and basic advancements were listed. After that, the list began to divert and show the option to master in a certain category.
Like, Fire Sorcerer’s eyes; if he were to choose this advancement, his sensitivity toward the fire mana would improve further down the line. This could be an option for someone who focuses on one element, like Vexar or Alaric, but Dhruv... Dhruv couldn’t choose one as he loved both metal and illusion.
’Hmmm! This is quite interesting...’ Dhruv thought as he read the description of the Mimicry Sorcerer’s eyes.
[Mimicry Sorcerer’s eyes: With the help of this eye, you can mimic the abilities or skills of other monsters or beings. This involves copying their powers, appearance, or skills temporarily.]
It was interesting, but Dhruv wasn’t convinced by this advancement as well. The only advantage of this pose is that he could copy others’ appearance... but Dhruv was sure that he could do something like that with his illusion as well.
After a few minutes of scrolling, he narrowed down his options to two choices. One of them was the Sensitive Sorcerer’s eyes, and the other one was the Spying Sorcerer’s eyes. Both of their descriptions were as follows.
[Sensitive Sorcerer’s eyes: After upgrading to this, your mana sensitivity will reach another height.]
"Simple and straightforward but a powerful advancement nonetheless," Dhruv whispers as he thinks about this one.
[Spying Sorcerer’s eyes: You can access the status of the monster of your own tier.]
"Ughh! This one was simple with its description as well." Dhruv thinks as he looks at its description.
For the past few minutes, he couldn’t decide which one to choose. Remembering the pros and cons, he finally decided which one to select. The moment he finalized his decision, a notification appeared in front of him,
[Do you want to evolve Sorcerer’s eyes...]
