Chapter 216: Fourth Guardian
With his whisper, a white dome emerged and began to meld half of the goblin meat with Dhruv. As the moment passed, Dhruv for the second time felt how it felt to use fusion on himself.
Knowing that he was going to do this continuously he began to observe every detail he could get his hand on.
During this observation, he found that while the fusion was happening, he could feel something happening all inside of his body. He couldn’t explain it clearly, but he remembered this sensation.
He remembered this sensation because it was associated with a lot of pain. During his days of trying to learn how to drive, he got himself in a heavy accident. The accident was so severe that he had to be in the hospital for about a month.
This feeling was the same as he often felt while being in that hospital. Due to the injury, he wasn’t allowed to eat anything naturally. This resulted in him being fed all the nutrients required for a human body through needles.
’This is exactly what I’m feeling.’ While Dhruv was contemplating this, a notification popped up in front of him.
[You have gained 4 essence points.]
"Huh! Four... well, it is better than 1 or 2 at least," Dhruv mumbled as he saw the notification in front of him. A smile appeared on his face as he looked at the other half of the meat.
’I suppose I can fuse with this one as well.’ With this thought in his mind, he activated the fusion once again.
Within a few seconds, another notification popped up in front of him.
[You have gained 4 essence points.]
[Note! Mutate your organ as soon as possible.]
’So, the note appeared once again,’ Dhruv thought as he looked at the second notification. Whenever he had enough essence points, he would get this notification suggesting him to mutate his organs as soon as possible.
’I’m fed up upgrading one at a time. This time I’m going to save it and spend it all together,’ Dhruv thought as he closed the notification. When there was nothing to distract him, he suddenly felt something.
’Even though I didn’t eat anything, I still feel full. I suppose this is a warning not to fuse anything else for the time being. Uhmmm! This means I can get about 8 to 10 essence points in one session. Not bad... not bad at all," Dhruv thought with a smile on his face.
He was about to take his notebook out and write everything when a voice rang and disturbed him.
[Master, everything is ready. You could come out anytime you want.] This was Alaric, informing him about the people being together.
[Okay, I will be there in one or two minutes.] Canceling this connection, Dhruv created another one as fast as possible.
[Vexar, come to my house and bring Grec as well.] he ordered.
[Coming, master.] He quickly heard the reply coming from the other side.
After waiting for a minute, Vexar and Grec finally arrived at Dhruv’s door.
"Let’s go." Addressing them, he began to move toward the area where Alaric had gathered everyone.
This area was none other than the dining area. After another two minutes of calmly walking, he finally reached the area. Arriving at the so-called stage with Grec, he finally opens his mouth.
"First of all, I’m really, really sorry for gathering all of you like this, every day... but what even can I do. As you all have already seen, we have another Asteri among ourselves," Dhruv announced as he signaled toward Grec.
Having been informed what to do, Grec bent slightly and bowed toward the rest of his people.
Clap! Clap!...
Seeing his action everybody clapped in appreciation.
"Now it’s time to formally introduce our new member. He is Grec, a former Goblin. I think... no I’m sure he will be a great addition, and will be another strong pillar of the island," Dhruv paused for a second to see their reaction.
When the anticipation was at its highest, he opened his mouth.
"So, let us welcome the fourth guardian... Grec." Announcing this, Dhruv moved slightly away from the focus to give the goblin some limelight.
"What fourth guardian... like guardian.. Guardian..." Some were so confused that they couldn’t understand this.
"I think the lord has said..."
One after another, everyone was showing their reaction to the revelation. They weren’t surprised that a monster would live with them, as most of them are also monsters, but to accept this new one as their guardian.
This was something that was hard to digest.
’As expected, they are confused,’ Dhruv thought as he saw the reaction of the people. Seeing that he had to control the flow, he moved in front of everyone.
"Yes, you have heard me right. He is our fourth guardian..." After pausing for a bit he continued, "You don’t have to doubt his loyalty like the way I had never worried about yours," Dhruv finished his words with a smile on his face.
Looking at their expression now he could see a massive shift in emotion. It was changing for the better as well.
"Yes, his lordship is right. There is nothing to worry about when he is the one who had introduced him," an old man shouted with a smile on his face.
"You are right."
"I was worried for no reason."
"Welcome to our humble abode... Lord fourth."

Everyone began to show positive reactions as cheers began to erupt in the surroundings.
"To celebrate this holy date, why not celebrate with a feast," Lyra proposed with a smile on her face.
’A feast... hell yeah...’ Turning toward Lyra, Dhruv opened his mouth, "I think this is a perfect opportunity for that. What do you all think?"
"Yes."
"We would love to have a feast."
Everyone agreed without any hesitation.
"I guess we have to trouble you once again," Dhruv said as he looked toward the priestess.
"As you wish, My lord," Lyra replied. After talking for another minute or two, everyone began to move toward their houses. While everyone was leaving, Dhruv turned toward Lyra and proposed,
"If you’re all free for a few minutes, come to the meeting room."
