Chapter 204: Two Ways
"Let’s gooo..."
Saying this, all three of them enter the portal. In less than a second they appeared on the island where the prison was supposed to be. Without communicating among themselves they began to move toward the center part of the island once again.
Although Lyra had explained what the situation was, Dhruv still didn’t know how that happened. Facing Thala he opened his mouth,
"How can this happen when you are with them? Was the culprit a monster tier 4 or something like that?" he wasn’t pinning the fault of Olivia’s incident on Thala’s shoulders.
He had asked this so he could find out what and where things went wrong so he could at least try to prevent it preventing any second incident like this.
"M-My lord, after reaching the cave, we decided to split up... the only reason I suggested that was because we were still in the starter area of the cave, and there the highest tier of the mob was tier 2..." After saying this, Thala paused to take a deep breath.
"...For an hour, everything went well, and everyone was killing monsters and gaining levels. But... when I was in some deep part, I suddenly heard the sound of Olivia screaming. The moment I heard the scream, I began to run in her direction... but before I could reach her, everything had happened. Even the monster was almost killed by Ewen." Thala summarized everything.
"...Uhmmm! The attacker was a tier 3 monster, right?" Dhruv asked. Although Lyra had mentioned that the Old Man had killed the spider, she didn’t know the tier of the monster.
"Yes, my lord. Not only was it a tier 3 monster, but it was also one of the bosses of the dungeon as well." Thala quickly explained that the boss was a unique monster.
"...." Listening to this, Dhruv went silent. It almost took him ten seconds to process the information he just got.
’If the monster was a boss, then she is quite lucky...’ Dhruv heaved a sigh of relief thinking this. Except for him, nobody knew how crafty those tier 3 bastards could become if the circumstances were right.
After thanking her luck, Dhruv began to change his view about the Spider dungeon,
’The monster was a tier 3 Boss! so even though it isn’t a floor-type dungeon, there is more than one boss in that cave. The boss Olivia and the group encounter is a tier 3. Uhhhh!! The main boss is going to be a tier 4 once again...’ Dhruv thought as he began to consider how many boss monsters there could be in the cave.
Before he could think any further, he heard Thala’s words once again, "If I am right, then there should be around five bosses in that dungeon."
"What makes you say these things?" Dhruv asked while lifting one of his eyebrows.
Instead of saying anything, Thala brought out the dungeon core from his sack and threw it toward Dhruv. Catching the core, Dhruv brought it in front of his eyes.
He wanted to check the description of the core right there and then... but to do that, he needed glass. Thinking that this isn’t an appropriate time and place to do that, he swiftly put the core in his ring.
Before he could think anything else, he began to hear the murmur of the crowd ringing in his head.
"Lord is here..."
"He is finally here.."
"Everything will be alright now.."
"..."
"...."
All types of voices began to reach Dhruv’s ears. Even after spending this much time with them, he didn’t know why the people of the island had this much trust in him.
They trust him like he is some type of almighty god that can do anything.
Just after a minute of walking, he was able to reach the center of the crowd. After seconds of entering the crowd, he gets a glimpse of Olivia lying in between her group.
Reaching her he quickly inspected her condition. After a few seconds of inspection give him some insights into her condition. The good thing was that she was conscious now, the bad thing was that her face only bore the sign of pain.
Seeing that despite this condition she was bowing, he quickly put his hand on her head and patted her. While patting her head he had also sent some of his mana into her.
He was using basic heal on her. The only thing the spell was able to provide was slight comfort and nothing more than that.
"It’s nothing, my lord. I will be alright after some rest..." Her voice barely left her mouth.
"Of course, you will be alright. You will be better than ever before..." Dhruv replied with a smile on his face. He wasn’t just giving her words, no... he was totally serious. Dhruv has a total of two ways to heal her fully.
The first one is direct. During the plundering of the gang, he got his hands on a potion bottle that clearly had the capacity to heal her fully. But today, he wasn’t going to do that.
Today he was going to help her through the second method. The method he was thinking is the bane of any injury in the entirety of the cosmos. Dhruv was this sure because he had experienced it firsthand.
The almighty method is none other than the method of evolution.
Olivia had long before reached the level limit of her evolution. And the reason she hasn’t evolved is because she was waiting to earn some coins and invest them in her stat.
Looking at the people surrounding her, Dhruv opened his mouth.
"You guys don’t have to worry; she will be as good as new by tomorrow, but there is some help I want. Do you think you will be able to do that..." Dhruv asked as he looked at the people around him.
"What My lord?"
"Of course, we will help.."
"...."
"...."
Seeing that everyone is on board with him, he didn’t beat around the bush and clearly laid out his intention, "I want all of you to provide some of the coins you possess to Olivia."
"..."
Everyone went silent for a second as they couldn’t understand what connection them donating coins had on Olivia’s welfare. While most of them were confused, some quickly found the connection, and Thala was among the first ones.
Quickly moving toward Olivia, he donated almost all of his coins, only leaving some so he could buy potions with them. Dhruv also gave the hundred thousand coins he had gotten after killing the boss.
Seeing both of their actions, everyone began to move towards Olivia... because most of them had already invested their coins in stats, and not everyone had coins in their hand. Even after this, the collective amount had reached a staggering 600,000 CC.
After a while, Olivia saw that Dhruv was leaning toward her. Her lord quickly bent down and whispered, "Invest all of them in a single time and quickly start the evolution."
Bowing her head, she nodded and quickly opened the status windows. Looking at the strength and agility stats in front of her, she thought of investing in them,
[Do you want to invest 601,230 CC in strength and agility in the 60:40 proportion.]
[Yes/No]
Instead of answering the question, she opened another window beside this one,
[You have reached the maximum level limit of your species. Do you want to evolve.]
[Yes/No]
Keeping both notifications side by side, Olivia first clicked on the invest coins button. Before the wave of pain hit her, she clicked on the second yes button, starting the process of evolution.
The moment the ’yes’ button of the evolution menu was hit, the backside of her left palm began to glow with a slightly golden light.
’What a weird feeling this is...’ Olivia thought as she began to feel a tingling sensation all around her body.
Not long after the tingling sensation, the senses around her body began to shut down. Knowing that the process of melting had begun, she looked at her people for the last time as a human.
"T-hank ou g..uys for th..e c..oin..." Before she could finish her words, the lower jaw of her mouth melted. Just a second later her head was melted into that same substance.
When the process of melting was complete, the outer layer of the goo began to transform into a hardened material. Not before long, she was entirely transformed into that of an egg.
...
The moment Olivia had tapped down the yes button, a realm had begun to form somewhere. This realm was almost similar to that of the Vexar realm; the only exception was that there wasn’t any fire here.
The absence of fire didn’t mean that there wasn’t any element available in the realm of sword.
Crackkk!!...
Booommm!...
Rarely, lightning was striking the lines of swords sticking in the ground. The frequency between each lightning was more than a few seconds, clearly indicating her low affinity with the element.
Suddenly, a lady appeared in the middle of the realm without any clothes and a missing hand. Slowly, she began to open her eyes; the moment her eyes were fully opened, the missing hand of hers began to grow at an impressive speed.
’Is this the realm...’ Before she could finish her thoughts, a notification appeared in front of her.
[Congratulations! On reaching the maximum level of your species.]
[These are the evolution options you can choose from...
1....]
