Chapter 179: Two Descriptions?

Dhruv almost facepalms himself after learning that this sweet—well not anymore— demon has no clue what a dungeon core is supposed to be. He knows that there is no point in arguing with him, so he just asks a simple question.

"Forget about it. Just tell me where is the corpse of the boss?" Dhruv changed his question and asked this simple one that even this guardian of his could answer without any problem.

"Well, the corpse is in that direction, but, Master, during the fight, I have burned the corpse, so there is nothing but ashes left of it," Vexar answered without hiding anything.

"You did what...?" Dhruv hurriedly asked, there was a hint of panic in his tone.

He was panicked because he didn’t have a clue what would happen to the dungeon core if the whole body was burned to the ground before the core had even a chance to form.

He couldn’t even blame Vexar for this as this wasn’t his fault as well. He simply looked into his eyes and asked for the location of the corpse.

Getting the location, he sprinted in that direction with all his might. It didn’t take him more than ten seconds to reach the center of the village. After reaching the place, he noticed that the ashes of the boss were still there. They hadn’t scattered one bit.

’There is no core there,’ Dhruv thought. He could feel his heart leaping out of his mouth when he looked at the pile of ashes in front of him.

Having a suspicion that the core could be hidden under the ashes, he bent down to scatter the ashes.

The moment his hand touched the surface of the ashes, all of it flew into the air. Calming himself down, he looked at the area with a very careful gaze.

Sigh.

He heaved a sigh of relief after noticing that there were two cores in front of him. He knew that one of them was the monster’s core and the other one was his key to the final floor... the key to closing this whole damm thing.

Picking up the core, he wished to see the description of the item. The moment he thought of this, two descriptions popped up in front of him.

"Two descriptions..."

A frown appeared on his face as he looked at the two status screens in front of him. With a single thought, one of the screens got zoomed in, showing him its content clearly to Dhruv.

...

[Name: Goblin Forest Core (Second Floor)]

[Rank: Unknown]

[Tier: Unknown]

[Description: The Goblin Forest Core (Second Floor) is an item that will be formed after killing the unique boss [Goblin Shaman Boss]....]

[Enchantment: Forest Portal]

[Forest Portal: Place this core in the box beside the portal of the second floor....]

...

Dhruv was familiar with this one, so he didn’t read it deeply and skipped it over. He quickly focused on the other item and thought of it to zoom in. With a single thought, it zoomed in as well and showed its description to Dhruv.

...

[Name: Goblin Shaman Core]

[Rank: Rare/Unique]

[Tier: III]

[Description: The Goblin Shaman Core is a rare item, originating from a deceased goblin shaman. This core contains the residual magical essence of the shaman and could serve as a unique and potent artifact.]

[Enchantments: Mana Source, Status]

[Mana Source: The Goblin Shaman Core functions as a remarkable source of mana. It can be tapped into to replenish the user’s magical energy, making it a valuable tool for spellcasters and those who rely on magical abilities. Monsters could absorb the core directly to progress in their evolutionary line.]

[Status: When invoked, the core can display the status of the goblin shaman at the time of its death. To show the status, say the word, ’Display’ while holding the item.

Note: If the user doesn’t send their own mana to the core, then the core will consume its own mana necessary to activate the enchantment.]

....

’The core is an item that has its description as well.’ Dhruv was shocked as well as embarrassed.

He was shocked because this came as a total surprise to him. His reason for embarrassment was that he felt stupid for not thinking of this point at all. If he hadn’t accidentally activated it today, perhaps he wouldn’t have known about this until someone had told him.

Dhruv quickly put his shock aside and began to read the description of the Shaman’s core.

’It can even show the status of the monster at the moment of its death. That is pretty cool.’

With this thought in his mind, he said the word while also sending his mana to the core. It felt somewhat weird to send mana to an item that was essentially made out of mana, but it is what it is.

"Display."

’What a name... This one has a name. Who gave him his own name, or is it that he named himself?’ The more Dhruv thought about it, the more confused he was getting.

This was the first monster he had encountered besides his own guardian who had a name for themselves. He was very curious to know where it had come from, but no matter how much he thought, he couldn’t come to a reasonable conclusion.

After thinking for a while, he forgot about that and moved on to the next section of the status.

’’Ritual magic.’ So this was the name of his magic affinity. It couldn’t get more creepy than this, I guess.’ Dhruv once again shivered as he was forced to remember his encounter with the Shaman.

’What more interesting thing is there?.... Why is there no mention of manipulation besides Ritual magic? Does that mean there is no manipulation for this type of magic? Then how exactly it works?’

Dhruv couldn’t wrap his head around this no matter how he thought about it, so he simply moved on.

’Blood Sacrifice, Voodoo’s Revenge, Sacrificed Barrier, Spirit Talking... Who was in charge of creating skills for ritual magic and thought of these weird things?’ Dhruv could feel his hair standing on its end the more he read the skill section.

This entire section was full of all sorts of weird skills that Dhruv couldn’t imagine could even exist. He quickly moved on to the mutation section of the status.

Out of habit, he clicked on one of the mutations, hoping to reveal its description. The moment he clicked it, he remembered that he couldn’t access the descriptions of others’ mutations. But to his surprise, something else happened.
