Chapter 164: Slime Farm Completed

"Finally, it’s done," Azarex heaved a sigh of relief as he looked at the finished warehouse in front of him.

’Now that this is done, I can tell Alaric to deposit the corpses in here.’ With this thought in his mind, he connected with Alaric through the Mark to convey the message. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

Dhruv had full control over his Mark, and he had permitted his guardians to connect with him or among themselves at any moment.

Azarex frowned when he noticed that he couldn’t connect with Alaric. He was about to think that there might be some problem with his brother when he suddenly remembered something.

’How can I forget, we can’t talk through the dungeon.’ Azarex thought as he remembered his and Dhruv’s experiment with how communication worked through the portal.

He recalled that while being in the dungeon, he couldn’t connect with the undead who were in the overworld.

Taking a final look at the warehouse and confirming that it was completely fine, he began to walk toward an area that was completely off-limits for everyone else.

This was the eastern part of the island where the construction of the slime farm was going on, and Navi was the one leading this project.

After walking for a while, he reached the area and found Navi, the head of the crafters. While also commanding the workers around him he was also busy working on the farm.

Azarex began to walk toward the head of the crafter, with some questions in his mind.

"So, Navi, how far have you come in building this thing?" Azarex asked as he reached the man.

While waiting for the answer, he began to observe the work in front of him. He was surprised to find out that most of the construction had been done underground and not above the ground like the work he was involved in.

Hearing the words, he quickly turned around and bowed when he saw that it was the second guardian who had come to see him.

"Ohh! When did you come, your grace?" he asked while bowing.

"Just arrived," Azarex replied as he gestured toward the building, indirectly letting Navi know that he was expecting an answer to his previous question.

"Ohhh! The slime farm will be built in another hour or so as there weren’t many things left to build. Almost all the construction has been done. Once His Grace Alaric arrives and transports the slime, we can start this thing at any moment we want," Navi explained, often glancing toward the building to inspect the workers.

"Okay, can you tell me how exactly this thing works?" Azarex asked with curiosity.

After coming in contact with the second wave of people and hearing about many unique things from then he often had a craving to learn all of them. That’s why he first started to learn about things on the island.

"The design is pretty simple in itself. So, there is a cylindrical hole in there..." Navi pointed toward the hole while also pausing for a bit to remember the exact dimensions of the cylinder.

After remembering it, he continued, "The cylinder is about 15 meters deep and around 40 meters in diameter. The outer layer of the cylinder is covered in wood so the slimes can’t destroy it."

"We first tried to use metal but noticed that with their acidic slime, they would eventually corrode it. After some experiments, we found that either plastic or wood would be the perfect material. Here, wood was in abundance, so we decided to use that."

He paused and let Azarex carefully observe the hole. When Azarex was satisfied with that, he turned toward Navi and asked, "Why is that hole divided into four parts?" Azarex asked with clear confusion.

"As you know, not everyone is as strong as Your Grace and the Lord, so we decided to divide the 200 slimes into four equal parts, 50 in each part. Then each part is connected through a cylindrical tube which is only wide enough to let a tier 1 slime pass through it."

"On one side of the tube is connected to the cylinder, while the other end of the tube is brought forward to the ground where there is a wooden platform. There, the fighters would battle the slime to earn coins."

"After killing the slimes, instead of letting some of the slimes pick them back toward the third-tier monster, like how it was happening in the station, we would directly pick them up and throw them toward the mother slimes through the hole. We also deposit the other corpses through the hole as well," Navi explained, pausing as he finally explained everything about the farm.

After listening to Navi’s words, Azarex fully understood how the slime farm would work. He was quite satisfied with the design. It only needed approval from the lord, and then it would finally start working.

Azarex began to round up the area to see the full work. After walking and getting familiar with everything physically, he finally excused himself and began to walk back toward the resident area.

His next destination was the old man’s house, as from his understanding it was about time the evolution would finish. After walking for a while, he finally reached the house.

All the undead were in the same place where he had left them, meaning that there hadn’t been anyone who had tried to enter the old magician’s house.

He quickly navigated through the house and reached the place where he had last seen the egg. When he reached the bedroom, he wasn’t surprised to find that the egg was still there.

Suddenly, Azarex noticed some movement in the egg.

"Ohhh! It’s about time you woke up from your sleep," Azarex said, smiling as he couldn’t wait to welcome another ’true member’ into his own species.

It didn’t take long before an old man began to emerge from the egg. Azarex could admit that it wasn’t the best sight but he tried to endure it.

The moment he saw the old man, Azarex couldn’t help but get surprised by noticing the transformation that had happened to the old man as a result of the evolution.

’Master will have to find a new word soon,’ Azarex thought as he chuckled.
