Chapter 157: Houses
One week later...
"Place it carefully... uh! Yes, done," the man who was in the lead said to the workers who were carefully adding the door to the house.
After a while, the door was carefully placed in its place, and the workers collectively sighed in relief. After carefully checking that everything was all right, the workers began to walk toward the other houses that needed some finishing touches.
The leader of the workers was still there, taking some notes in his notebook with a serious expression.
This was the 20th house that had been completed. Last week, they had started the process of building houses on the island, and today they had finished the twentieth house.
There were still about fifty more to make, but the groups had decided to shift their main focus from building houses to completing the third quest, as there were now just two weeks and a few days left before the time limit would end.
A white-haired man, wearing brown leather armor and black formal trousers, inspected the building in front of him with a smile on his face. This man was none other than Dhruv, the lord of this island.
As he gazed at the finished house in front of him, the corners of Dhruv’s lips curled up, and a chuckle left his mouth.
The design of the house in front of him was purposefully created by Dhruv himself, and it was as minimal as possible. The house consisted of only two bedrooms and one dining hall.
There wasn’t a second floor or a basement in the house at the moment, as he believed there wasn’t any need for them.
The houses were empty at the moment, and there wasn’t any furniture in them. There were only mattresses in the house.
The man who was the leader of the workers approached Dhruv, bowing toward him. He said, "My lord, this house has been completed as well. With this house done, the number of structures on this island has reached twenty-five."
"Ohhh! Nice," Dhruv responded with a smile on his face.
With no further questions coming his way, the leader began to move in the direction the workers had just gone.
Besides twenty houses, the other five buildings consisted of one rat or iron nugget farm, and the other four were warehouses built to collect materials.
Warehouses were a necessity since the dungeons wouldn’t last forever, and they needed to gather as much material as possible within this time frame.
Two of the warehouses stored all the wood that was cut down from the dungeon. The third warehouse housed other materials such as processed iron blocks, raw materials for the rat farm, crystals dug out from the spider dungeon, magic-infused wood, and remains of monsters that could be used for crafting.
The fourth warehouse was where the processing actually happened. Here, the nuggets from the rat farm were melted and transformed into useful materials.
Crafters used luminance crystals to make bulbs, and the most experienced among them were busy working on monster materials, trying to craft actual magic weapons out of them.
While they hadn’t achieved success yet, their hopes were high, and news had come that they were in the final stages of their efforts.
Satisfied with the building in front of him, Dhruv began to move toward his own house. Although he had said not to build his house with luxury in mind, the result has been anything but normal.
His house consisted of one normal bedroom, one master bedroom, one personal bathroom, one dining room, and most importantly, one meeting room.
In the meeting room, there was a long table placed, with chairs on each side for the meeting’s attendees to sit comfortably. At the very end of the table, there was a beautiful white throne.
This was the throne that Dhruv had received as a gift.
The whole house was covered with a layer of soft carpet, which was made from lion-like monsters. Dhruv had to admit that the crafters from the tribes were very skilled in their field.
Dhruv walked toward the meeting room, sat on the throne, and began to wait for the members to make their appearance.
Within five minutes, the chairs in front of him were filled with the important people of the island.
Alaric stood beside Dhruv, like an unmoving guardian, keeping an eye out for any potential danger.
In the front chairs, Dhruv’s other two guardians, Vexar and Azarex, were seated.
Beside Azarex, there were the priestess and the leader of the tribe. Next to her was the old lady elder of the tribe, and beside her were the newly appointed leaders of the crafters.
On the other side of the table, there was Thala, the captain of the warriors, and beside him was the old man whose duty was to keep tabs on the materials. Along with these, there were also some empty chairs in the room.
When everyone got presented in the meeting, they all stood up at the same time and bowed towards Dhruv.
Dhruv nodded in acknowledgment and signaled for them to sit comfortably.
Looking towards them he opens his mouth,
"From today, we will start our full-blown attack on the goblin dungeons. The first floor of the goblin dungeon is full of monsters at Tier Ⅰ, so I don’t think we need to intervene in this fight. I want to take this opportunity to let the new members learn to about how to fight the monsters," Dhruv proposed his view on how they should proceed on the first floor.
"That won’t be a problem, my lord, but don’t you think they are still a bit new to fight the monsters on their own," Azarex proposed.
Listening to Azarex’s proposal, Thala nodded as well, as he was also aware of the capabilities of these warriors from when he was training them. They were all at the lowest tier of fighters.
Listing to Azarex words Dhruv smiles and said, "That’s why I said they need to learn and not win...
