Chapter 143: Fusing With Dead Bodies
After an unknown period of time...
Dhruv was looking at his notebook where the results of the previous experiment had been written.
1. During the fusion, I’d intentionally fused it with the monsters of just [E] rank affinity in earth magic. Yet, the result was that its affinity had further increased after numerous fusions. Now the goblin affinity is at [C] rank.
2. Even after reaching 100% core saturation, the goblin wouldn’t evolve directly.
3. When it had reached 100% Saturation, I had fused some more goblins, yet the result was the same. The goblin wouldn’t directly evolve its tier. It seems like for evolution, it has to follow its natural cycle.
After finding out about these things Dhruv wanted to check another thing in this experiment, and that was whether he could affect anyone’s status with his fusion skill or not.
However, after numerous tries, he found that he was unable to alter anything on the goblin’s status.
At first, he thought it was because the fusion wouldn’t work on others, but if this were to be the case, then many of the things that had happened to this point shouldn’t have happened.
And from that, a lingering doubt appeared in his mind that it wasn’t that he couldn’t or wouldn’t be able to do it, but perhaps it was the Inspec-tor Glass which was of insufficient rank, and that’s why he wasn’t able to do it.
As Dhruv looked at the notebook in front of him, thought after thought appeared in his mind.
’Should I let him, or should I not? Man, he is a valuable subject that could provide good knowledge about how evolution pathways work, but... No but, Dhruv, don’t be a coward.’
Dhruv was talking about the goblin. After some back and forth he finally convinced himself to let the goblin live until it reached tier Ⅱ.
But if he wanted to let the monster live, he wouldn’t do it without some protective measures as well.
Dhruv walked some distance away from the tree and began to create a hole, and this time, he aimed to go deep, very deep.
After digging a hole with a depth of 20 meters, he was satisfied. He also made the diameter of the hole 6 meters wide, so the monster wouldn’t suffocate after evolving.
Phew!
Dhruv breathed a sigh of relief as he marveled at the hole he had created and began to walk toward the goblin. When he reached his hole, he couldn’t help but be surprised.
"It had already started evolving..." Dhruv thought as he looked at the light brown egg in front of him.
If he wasn’t familiar with evolution and its relation to the egg, he could even mistake this egg for a big boulder.
’The camouflage power of this egg is surely marvelous...’ Dhruv thought as he began to form a plan to get the egg out of the hole safely so he wouldn’t damage it in the process.
Instead of using any spell to lift the egg, he began to carve out one side of the wall in a way that would make a staircase. After carefully doing that for five minutes, he finally seemed satisfied with his work.
Instead of directly going toward the egg, he walked toward the other hole and created a metal sheet at ground level. The sheet was shaped in a way that it would be able to hold the egg perfectly.
When everything was ready, he carefully picked up the egg and began to walk toward the other hole.
After placing the egg on the metal sheet, he began to lower the sheet very slowly.
A minute later, the egg was already on the ground, safe and sound.
Dhruv returned to the initial hole where two hundred of the goblins were. After numerous experiments, the number had dropped below the 150 mark.
Dhruv took out the notebook and wrote another sentence:
Experiment #2
Purpose: To determine whether the main body remains in control of its mind even after getting fused with dead monsters.
Writing these lines, Dhruv put the notebook and the pen back in his ring and captured a monster from the CHO region.
After placing it in the hole near the apple tree, he began to walk toward the group and captured three CHI-side goblins.
This time, instead of directly placing it in the hole, he first killed all three goblins and then threw them at the CHO goblins who were in the hole.
"True Fusion..."
After using Fusion, and when all the goblins were fused with the CHO goblins, Dhruv fired a spell to hurt the goblin...
When the cries of pain sounded in his ear he found that the goblin was still speaking the word "CHO," which wasn’t surprising as the take over only starts after the third fusion.
Dhruv once again went to the hole and kidnapped three more goblins and threw them into the hole. After fusing them with the CHO goblin, he fired a metal spear at him.
And this time, he was surprised as the monsters had once again said the word,
"CHO!"
Which implies that the takeover hasn’t happened. He wasn’t satisfied with this and once again went toward the hole to pick some more goblins.
Even when the tenth fusion had happened, and there wasn’t any response, Dhruv found out that after fusing with the dead body, the takeover wouldn’t occur. He took out his notebook and began to write in it.
#Conclusion
1.} Even after fusing the body with ten dead bodies, the takeover hasn’t happened.
2.} After the tenth fusion, this goblin seemed slightly weaker than the previous goblin. The reason for that is unknown. I hypothesize that it has something to do with the soul or something like that.
After writing those words, Dhruv put the notebook back in the ring and began to look at the monster in front of him.
By checking his status, he found out that the goblin in front of him had reached 25% saturation in the core.
After wasting some more time, he figured out the stats of this goblin as well, and the result was within his expectations.
The goblin had almost ten lower levels in every stat compared to the previous one.
At this point in the experiment, Dhruv was tired, not physically, but mentally.
Sigh!..
But knowing he had to get the results, he persisted and looked at the apple tree in front of him.
It was time to check the potency of the apple on goblins and note their behavior.
