Chapter 140: CHI And CHO
Dhruv repeated the same process he had just done, on the other side of the goblins as well. The only difference was that he trained them to speak another word.
The word being... "CHO."
Dhruv wasn’t just teaching them these words without having any purpose; No... these words were going to be a very important part of his soon-to-be experiment.
When Dhruv was satisfied that the goblins had learned enough and would surely speak the word he had trained them to say, he climbed out of the hole and began to walk toward one of the apple trees.
Once there, he created two holes in front of him, with only a sheet of metal separating the two parts. Each hole was big enough to fit two adult humans comfortably.
After creating the two holes, he turned back toward the original hole and picked up one goblin from the "CHI" side. To pick them up, he used the spell "Metal Hook", a new spell he had learned just for this experiment.
He took the goblin and placed it in one of the holes he had just created.
Then he turned around and selected one goblin from the "CHO" side, placing it in the other hole.
Looking at the duo below him, he took out a notebook and a pen from his ring and wrote a sentence at the top of the page:
"Experiment #1"
"Purpose for the experiment: To see if the body–Main body— would remain knowledgeable of its past after fusing with another body—the body which will fuse with the main body."
After writing these words, he put the notebook and pen back in his ring and took a step forward.
Keeping an eye on the "CHI" goblin, Dhruv removed the metal sheet separating the two sides and let them meet. Looking at the goblins in front of him, he extended his hand and chanted the word,
"True fusion."
The moment he said the word, a pure white ball emerged from his hand and began to revolve on his palm. Knowing what he had to do at this moment, he added the command to fuse the goblins in front of him.
Dhruv didn’t immediately release the ball; he waited for a few seconds before adding another command.
The purpose of this command was to make the "CHI" goblin the head of the fusion, with the "CHO" goblin fusing with him.
After doing that, he let the pure white ball go toward the two goblins. The pure white ball began to expand the moment it touched the goblins’ bodies and encompassed both of them in a dome of white light.
After encompassing both goblins in its sphere, it remained there for a few seconds, ten seconds to be exact before the white dome of light was destroyed, revealing a new and fresh transformed creature.
The new goblin had changed in appearance. It was now almost 1.5 times taller than its previous version.
It hadn’t gained some muscles on its body, and anyone looking at it would say that this is the guy who goes to the gym regularly.
Looking at the goblin in front of him, Dhruv fired a ball of fire. The fireball traveled the distance between them in milliseconds and hit the goblin directly in its chest.
CHI!...
After being hit by the ball of fire the goblin cries in pain.
The moment he heard the sound a smile hung upon Dhruv’s face.
With this experiment, he concluded that the initial subject would indeed remember their past, even after the fusion.
Quickly, he took out his notebook and filled in the information.
"Result: After the first fusion, the subject would indeed remember their past clearly."
Dhruv had used the term "first Fusion" because he wasn’t satisfied just yet. He turned around, went to the big hole picked two goblins from the "CHO" area, and placed them into the hole beside the apple tree.
Before starting the fusion, Dhruv increased the size of the hole, fearing that the next product wouldn’t fit and might die from suffocation.
After increasing the size, he lifted his hand in front of it and whispered,
"True fusion."
Dhruv repeated the same process and added the same command as he had done previously.
After releasing the spell, it quickly enveloped the goblins and fused them together. The entire process was completed in just about twenty seconds, which was twice the amount of time it took for the first fusion.
Looking at the new goblin that had been formed after the fusion, Dhruv was surprised by the changes.
If the previous goblin could be described as someone who goes to the gym regularly, then the goblin in front of him could be described as someone who is obsessed with the gym.
Although the goblin’s height hadn’t increased that much, only about 10 centimeters, its body had become incredibly muscular.
Its biceps were bulging, it had developed a six-pack on its body, and it even seemed to have lost some of its ugliness. It was there but it was slowly getting away as well.
Without wasting any more time, he directly attacked the goblin with a fireball.
CHI!....
The monster once again let out a shout, and it sounded the same as before, indicating that there hadn’t been any change in its mind.
Looking at the specimen in front of him, Dhruv took out his notebook and recorded the result once again. This time, he didn’t put the notebook away; instead, he took out his inspector glass.
Wearing the glass, he looked at the goblin in front of him and injected his mana into the glass.
[Essence points: 2]
One section of the status screen appeared in front of him. And as always the result was disappointing but he didn’t get discouraged. He continued to look at the monster in front of him through the glass.
After numerous tries, he finally obtained the full list of this goblin’s status:
[Name: None
Species: Lesser Goblin
Core: Tier I [13%]
Magic Affinity: Earth (E)]
Stats: Strength Lv. 20, Stamina Lv. 16, Agility Lv. 15, Magic Power Lv. 02

Skills: Stunn Lv.3, Hide Lv.3, Parry Lv.1, Grip Lv.1
Mutation: Strong Arm +8, Agile Leg +5, Strong Keratin Nail +6
Skill point: 0
Essence point: 2]
Dhruv didn’t dwell too much on the status and instead quickly recorded it in his notebook for further use. He then walked toward the hole and brought three goblins—CHO side— this time.
Placing them in the hole with the muscular goblin, he once again whispered the same words:
"True Fusion..."
