Chapter 41: Helios Furnace Scriptur!

Joren opened the details page.

[Name: Helios Furnace Scriptur, top grade Rank Two method]

[Introduction: The advanced Chapter of Solar Crucible Method. If Rank One uses the body as a furnace to temper skin, flesh, tendons, and bones, then Rank Two lights the furnace fire and drives surging Vital Force through the body. Once mastered, Vital Force will rush through the body like flowing mercury, endless and alive.]

[Price: 3500 Military Merit.]

"This is it."

His [Solar Crucible Method] had already reached Mortal Perfection. His physical foundation was terrifyingly solid, like a top spec sports car still running on ordinary fuel.

It could move.

But it was not right.

This [Helios Furnace Scriptur] was fuel meant for a fighter jet.

[Payment successful. 3500 Military Merit deducted.]

[Transmission complete.]

The next second, countless golden figures appeared through the holographic projection, demonstrating strange and profound postures one after another.

A special breathing method.

Matched with specific routes for circulating Vital Force.

Obscure.

Difficult.

For an ordinary Awakened Warrior, simply getting started with [Helios Furnace Scriptur] would probably require a month of seclusion, plus large amounts of expensive medicinal baths.

For Joren?

That problem did not exist.

"System."

He called inwardly.

[Combat Arts: Solar Crucible Method Complete, Breath Severing Slash Lesser Mastery, Helios Furnace Scriptur 0/2000]

"Add points."

"Consume 1350 Bloodstars to improve [Helios Furnace Scriptur]."

Pain.

Pain.

Pain.

His meridians were being forced open.

The agony should have been enough to tear a person apart from the inside, but under the monstrous recovery of [Undying Body], it lasted only a few breaths before being smoothed away.

What followed was power unlike anything before.

In his mind, the golden figure moved faster and faster until it became a streak of golden light and merged completely into the depths of Joren’s soul.

[Ding! Points added successfully.]

Deep in his pupils, two faint golden flames seemed to flicker.

[Current panel updated:]

[Host: Joren]

[Realm: middle stage Rank Two Awakened Warrior, Vital Force circulation in progress]

[Combat Arts: Helios Furnace Scriptur 1350/2000, Breath Severing Slash 280/2000]

Middle stage Rank Two.

One round of added points had saved him three to five years of bitter cultivation and pushed him straight across a minor realm.

And his foundation was terrifyingly solid.

Roar!

Outside the air raid shelter, a roar shook the battlefield.

He could feel them.

Those twenty moving gift packs had arrived.

At the front was a Rank Four commander class Voidbeast.

Bloodrage Tyrant.

Dark red bone armor covered its body. Thick barbs lined its heavy tail. Its eyes were scarlet and brutal, carrying a faint, human like amusement.

It had just destroyed a full Antares Command elite squad as easily as swatting flies.

Now it had found a new toy.

Joren’s gaze locked onto the Tyrant’s head.

A line of blue text visible only to him flashed wildly.

[Ding! Rare Talent detected on target.]

[Target: Rank Four commander, Bloodrage Tyrant]

[Available Talent to plunder: Bloodthirst Frenzy Blue]

[Acquisition condition: Kill the target and consume 1000 Bloodstars.]

Joren’s pupils tightened.

A Rank Four Voidbeast gave Bloodstars on death and even came with a blue Talent.

Bloodthirst Frenzy.

Joren licked his lips. His right hand slowly closed around the hilt of the Black Gold blade.

"Since you brought yourself here, I will not be polite."

Boom!

The Bloodrage Tyrant clearly had not expected this toy to dare provoke it first.

With a furious roar, it swung its giant claw.

Joren had no intention of dodging.

[Sevenfold Bladeheart, Insight!]

"Breath Severing Slash!"

Clang!

Sparks burst in every direction.

A huge recoil surged through the hilt. The web between Joren’s thumb and forefinger split open at once, blood spilling out.

Middle stage Rank Two against a Rank Four commander.

The gap in raw power was still a gulf.

Joren was blasted back more than ten meters and slammed hard into a broken support pillar.

"Pfft!"

He spat out a mouthful of clotted blood.

He had been sent flying, but his slash had left a deep white mark across the Tyrant’s hard bone armor.

It had even cut open a thin crack.

This was battle.

This was the whetstone he wanted.

"Roar!"

The Bloodrage Tyrant had not expected this insect to survive one of its strikes.

It charged with a roar, its huge body like a runaway train, smashing every obstacle in its path to pieces.

Joren leaped high, shifted direction strangely in midair, and avoided the lethal sweep of the Tyrant’s barbed tail.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

Under the power of Rank Two Mental Force, the six Nightshade throwing knives turned into streaks of light, stabbing again and again toward the Tyrant’s eyes, ear holes, and other vulnerable spots.

Clink clink clink!

The Tyrant was forced to defend.

Joren took the opening.

One throwing knife shot into the Bloodrage Tyrant’s rear.

Even with its absurd defense, that stab still landed somewhere it never expected.

Everything tightened.

"Awooo!"

The Tyrant howled in pain and brought one huge foot down.

Joren rolled across the ground, avoiding it by a hair, but the shockwave still threw him over.

Before he could get up, the tail covered in barbs was already whipping toward him with a shriek of wind.

No room to dodge.

Then trade.

Joren twisted his body and used his left arm to take the tail strike head on. At the same time, his right hand drove the combat blade forward, borrowing that terrifying impact to stab into the Tyrant’s abdomen.

Crack.

Joren’s left arm broke instantly, bending at a twisted angle.

His whole body was sent flying like a cannon shell and crashed into a heap of ruins.

The left arm hung limp at his side.

Half his body was soaked red with blood.

He looked miserable.

His face stayed almost frighteningly steady.

[Undying Body, Injury Recovery!]

Vital Force burned wildly inside him.

Crack.

Joren grabbed his left arm with his right hand and wrenched it back into place.

The bone reset.

In just a few breaths, the ruined arm regained feeling.

It had consumed a large amount of Vital Force, leaving his face a little pale.

His gaze settled on the bleeding wound across the Tyrant’s abdomen.

There.

That was its weak gate.
