Chapter 30: Beast Tide (Part-4)

Every noble family have powerful guards, and even the weakest of them were beyond ordinary humans.

He later learnt from Andrew that the guards he saw outside the Chamber of Commerce who were stronger than ordinary humans but weaker than bloodline awakeners were called Blood Seed warriors.

They were artificially created using an alchemy item called Blood Seed. They also have different qualities, and it was even said that some very rare and expensive Blood Seeds can give strength not weaker than a bloodline awakener.

But their weakness is that they would never improve after becoming a Blood Seed warrior. Their strength would remain the same no matter how they try in future. Because of this limitation, Blood Seed Warriors were commonly used by powerful factions to build elite armies.

Or... As expendable cannon fodder.

But blood seeds aren’t cheap, so minor nobles usually can only create a group of elite guards. And right here were those kinds of Elite Guards.

They were about thirty to fifty in number, but they were all blood seed warriors able to handle ten times their numbers if their enemy were ordinary humans.

But their enemies weren’t human but were beasts who were usually more fierce and stronger than humans. Even for them, handling such beasts one-on-one would be difficult. So, they weren’t as calm as they appeared on the surface.

Max looked at a different group of elite guards from different noble families. Right now, about ten units of elite guards have gathered here.

Each unit was led by at least one Bloodline Awakener. Some of the stronger families even had two or three Bloodline Awakeners standing among their ranks.

And every bloodline awakener’s aura was calm and deep, as it was clear they were well trained with strong disciples, but there were always exceptions.

Among these dedicated and disciplined elite units, one group stood out quite a bit.

Not because they looked stronger.

But because their young master was casually sitting in a luxurious chair as though he were relaxing at home, ordering everyone around with an arrogant and annoying expression.

He glanced at the thousands of gathered commoners and sneered.

"Just look at those commoners gathered here, just like bugs waiting to be crushed."

"Yes, young master." A bloodline awakener standing beside him nodded, not like a warrior but more like a servant.

All the people gathered here at least glanced in that direction once. The cocky young master might be unknown to the people who came from outside, but for the people within Flameheart City, he was the most famous one, but not for a good reputation; rather, for the exact opposite.

Many might know about other nobles, but they definitely know about him. His infamy was so great that not only commoners but even nobles tried to avoid him.

His name was Ethan Silverblade from the noble family of Silverblade, one of the top five strongest noble families in Flameheart City. Making him a proper young master whom few dared to mess with.

Everyone maintained a distance between them so as not to catch this demon king’s attention.

The guards around him also weren’t weak. They had about fifty blood seed warriors and three bloodline awakeners beside Ethan.

Ethan, although a scum, was also a bloodline awakener. So, with him and a total of four bloodline awakeners, they made their group one of the most formidable ones here.

Max also noticed the strength of the Silverblade family. He, in fact, was able to feel more accurately through his powerful blood sensing.

Besides Ethan, the other three bloodline awakeners were very strong, especially the one standing behind Ethan like a shadowy snake who was patiently waiting to strike.

Suddenly...

The man seemed to sense Max’s gaze. His cold eyes turned directly toward him.

Max immediately looked away. A thin layer of sweat appeared on his back.

For a brief moment... He felt as though he had nearly stepped into the mouth of a deadly serpent. This was the second time that he had experienced such overwhelming danger.

The first time was naturally the female captain of the Flameheart city. But this guy’s aura was completely different. The captain’s blood radiated overwhelming heat and explosive vitality.

His was cold and poisonous, like venom flowing through his veins. Max had never imagined blood could carry such a terrifying feeling.

He was almost certain that this man had already surpassed the level of an ordinary Bloodline Awakener. He learnt from Andrew that after becoming a bloodline awakener, they can continue to become stronger by purifying their blood and evolving further closer to their bloodline origin to reach the next level.

Usually, only a few with enough resources and power can reach the next level. The heads of noble families usually are in that realm, and the name of this level is the ’Transformation realm’.

Transformation realm bloodline awakeners are the true foundation of all noble families, as their strength and lifespan increase tremendously. It is said that Transformation realm beings can easily live up to two hundred years without trouble.

Max couldn’t help but envy such strength.

After meeting two experts of that level today, he became even more determined to reach that realm himself.

Unfortunately...

Neither Andrew nor Mathew knew how one actually advanced into the Transformation Realm.

In truth, most rogue Bloodline Awakeners awakened their bloodlines purely by chance. They might have talent but lacked the knowledge to cultivate further.

That knowledge was tightly guarded by the noble families.

It was one of the greatest reasons why the nobles had ruled the world unchallenged for thousands of years.

Andrew and Mathew were just like those rogue awakeners and could only work as mercenaries without knowing the way to reach a higher level.

The transformation realm bloodline awakener named Serpent, beside Ethan, furrowed his brows as he felt someone was checking on him but quickly stopped and looked at the centre of the eastern gate as the commander had arrived.

Everyone’s attention also immediately focused on this. Max and the brothers also looked ahead.
