Chapter 230: Running in the rain
Seoha’s POV
The laughter doesn’t stop even as the rain grows heavier.
The alpha had taken off his jacket a minute ago. He placed it on my head to shield me from the rain, but it’s already soaked through.
"Hurry!" Taesan yells over the noise of rain hitting the ground and our bodies. My legs can’t keep up but I try to run with him anyway, and at some point, he picks me up.
"Sannah!" I squeal as he throws me over his shoulder and holds me in place with a hand on my butt.
Everything is upside down and exhilarating. I feel like a child again.
Oh! A child!
"Sannah! The baby!" I laugh and he instantly changes my position, holding bridal style as he continues to run through the rain.
He finally comes to a stop under the part of the bridge that is safe from the rain.
Taesan pushes his dark hair back, still grinning at me, and I smile back at him. Even though I’m shaking like a leaf, I am happier than I have ever been before.

"I love the rain" he says while staring at the downpour.
The information is random but precious to me. I feel proud that I now know something he likes.
"It’s so much fun, isn’t it?" I ask, wrapping my arms around my body to warm myself.
I don’t like the rain.
"Yes, it’s really fun and freeing. I used to pray for rain when I was little. It was the only way I could cry without getting caught" Taesan says and I hug him.
He still has so much that he hasn’t opened up to me, and I understand, I really do.
My alpha’s strong arms engulf me as he returns my hug, and we stand under the bridge, holding on to each other.
"I don’t want you to hold anything back with me" I say.
My voice is low, I’m scared to say it, and I don’t think he would be able to hear me over the pounding rain.
He does.
"I will try not to hold back" he says.
After a few minutes a man with a black umbrella finds us. From his suit and stoic face, I figure he’s an employee of Taesan’s.
"I’m here sir" he says.
"Let’s go home, Little deer" Taesan says and I give him a sad look. "I’m sorry our day ended like this..." I don’t get to complete my sentence; he grabs me by the nape, pulls me even closer and kisses me.
He isn’t even worried about the employee watching us.
"Ended like this?" he asks and I nod; he kisses me again. "Like the happiest day of my life?" he asks and my eyes widen.
"Really?" I whisper in surprise, heart rate speeding up.
"Let’s go home, you’re shaking" he says and the guard who came for us passes the umbrella to Taesan.
Taesan’s fancy car is already waiting for us and immediately we get in, Taesan wraps himself around me.
"I’m sharing body heat" he murmurs, answering a question that I didn’t ask. And instead of giggling, I act like I don’t know he’s just being clingy.
"Hmm...body heat" I try to say in a mocking tone, but my teeth clatter, so I keep shut and just rest my head on his shoulder.
The alpha pulls out his phone and places a call. I don’t get to see who it is, but I guess it’s Jisu from the tired sigh.
"Yes" he says.
"Make something warm, prepare the towels and run a bath" he orders.
"Stop asking me to send a kissy face picture, you punk" he snaps and I hold back from bursting into laughter. It’s definitely Jisu on the call.
After a while, the car pulls into the mansion. It’s still raining, so Taesan carries me into the house.
I have to learn how to make a PowerPoint on a topic titled: I have legs, Taesan-ssi. Please let me use them.
"Dad!" Sooin’s cheerful voice reaches us; the little girl is at the window waiting for us to come into the mansion.
"Dad! Dad! Dad!" she screams with excitement, clapping her hands as she calls her dad.
"Put me down" I mutter, feeling embarrassed that our daughter is seeing me like this. What would she think of me being carried around like a baby.
"Taesan, put me down" I hide my face in his neck.
"Never" he mutters back.
He takes me into the house and the moment he sets me down; someone takes off my shoes. I bow in gratitude as I’m wrapped up in a big, fluffy towel.
"Happy birthday dad" Sooin runs over to us, bouncing with so much excitement. "No hug for me?" Taesan asks, opening his arms.
"No, you’re wet" Sooin sticks her tongue out at her dad.
Taesan chuckles, squatting down to be on the same height as her, "no kiss for dad too?" he asks and Sooin giggles.
"One" she says, grabbing Taesan’s wet face and planting a big kiss on his cheek.
"Thank you, princess" he says before getting up. "Daddy" she comes to me and I squat for my own kiss.
"Hi, Innah" I say, grinning as she makes the biggest noise while pecking me on the cheek.
"Yah, it’s my birthday and my kiss wasn’t that big" Taesan complains and Sooin puts her hands on her hips.
"Dad, you’re wet" she defends her actions and Taesan rolls his eyes.
"He’s wet too" the man says, showing the side of himself that only belongs to Sooin, the apple of his eye.
"Dad, I love you" Sooin says, blinking cutely and my jaw drops at the blatant bribery. Wow, she’s really Taesan’s daughter, even if she doesn’t have his blood.
"You get away with everything because you’re cute" Taesan tsks, he reaches his hand out to ruffle Sooin’s hair but the girl screams and runs off.
"I made dinner, Taesan oppa. No kissing before dinner" Jisu yells from the top of the stairs, and Taesan huffs like the father of a teenage girl.
He’s not angry, he’s just...amused in his own way.
"Happy birthday" I say and he gives me the softest look ever, "let’s go get warm and then eat" he takes my hand.
