Chapter 130: An Unintended Encounter

Kyle’s phone rang when Arcane found it in his father’s car. Since they weren’t too far from Kyle’s house, they turned back towards it.

But before that, he answered the call from Ethan, Kyle’s husband.

Beep

"Kyle, tonight I—"

"Kyle is drunk." Arcane cut Ethan off before he could say anything else.

There was no response from the other end of the line for a moment, before Ethan’s voice finally returned.

"Who are you? Why are you holding his phone?"

Arcane could sense the tension in the man’s voice. He immediately explained what had actually happened, that Kyle had drunk alcohol of his own accord and ended up drunk.

Although it didn’t sound like something Kyle would normally do, that was what had happened. At first, Ethan didn’t believe Arcane and thought that the man had forced Kyle to drink alcohol. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

"I don’t care what you say. You better go home and take care of him, if you still call yourself a husband."

Without waiting for Ethan’s response, he hung up the phone and turned to his father. He asked him to turn around immediately and head back to Kyle’s house to return the phone, then they would go home. Donald agreed, so he turned the car around and drove back to one of his teachers’ houses. As before, Arcane got out of the car to place the phone back.

However, when he stepped inside to return the phone, he heard a sound.

It came from Kyle’s room, where it sounded like someone was moaning in pain. Arcane was sure that Kyle had woken up and was now feeling pain in his head. The man then decided to check on him, and sure enough, Kyle was holding his stomach, which felt so nauseous.

Aware of his presence, Kyle turned to him with a pale face while enduring the pain in his stomach. His head was still dizzy and his body was still weak from the hangover.

"Arcane, are you still here? Did you bring me here?" he asked hopefully, because he was also happy to see Arcane at his house.

"Yes, I brought you home here with my father."

Knowing this, Kyle’s expression became embarrassed because he felt bad for bothering Donald. Even though he was still happy that Arcane had brought him home.

But that happiness immediately faded when the nausea returned in his stomach, making it difficult for him to move to the bathroom.

Thinking he couldn’t just stand by, Arcane finally decided to help Kyle at least get to the bathroom so he could vomit.

After feeling better, they returned to the room where Kyle immediately sat down on the edge of the bed.

"Thank you for helping me again. I’ve really been bothering you."

"No problem. Besides, my father asked me to help you, so I guess that’s all I can do for you." He explained that this was Donald’s order, because he didn’t want Kyle to think that he cared about him, let alone had special feelings for him.

Kyle could only nod, thank him and Donald once again. Arcane then said goodbye and left, because his father had been waiting for him. Of course, Kyle intended to walk him out of the house and perhaps thank Donald directly.

However, it was as if he had forgotten that he still felt too weak to stand. He forced himself to do it and ended up almost falling. Reflexively, he grabbed Arcane’s sleeve when the man was not ready to support his body.

"Arcane!"

Arcane’s green eyes widened in surprise when his sleeve was pulled, causing him to fall as well.

As a result, they both fell, with Kyle landing right on the bed and Arcane on top of him. His arms managed to support his body so that he didn’t fall directly on top of the white-haired man beneath him.

"Sorry, I didn’t mean to pull you in just now, it’s just that—"

His sentence trailed off when he noticed a man standing right at his open bedroom door. They both turned around at the same time, only to find a man standing there in a blue uniform with slightly messy hair.

The man was panting as if he had been running to get home, but he saw his husband standing right below another man who was a stranger to him.

"Ethan? What are you—"

"What the hell is this?! What are you two doing?!" Ethan’s voice rang out loudly, scolding them both.

Arcane reflexively pulled away from Kyle because he realized that their current position looked quite suspicious. Kyle tried to explain that what was happening was not what it seemed.

However, as if unwilling to hear anything he had to say, Ethan immediately walked closer and intended to attack Arcane.

Quickly, he grabbed Ethan’s hand before it could hit his face. Pushing him away from him, before he could do something truly bad.

"Do you really need to resort to violence? Didn’t he already explain that what happened wasn’t what it seemed?"

As Arcane spoke, Ethan realized that his voice was the same as the man who had answered his phone earlier. Although he seemed indifferent to Kyle, he still felt jealous seeing his husband close to another man.

"You said he was heavily intoxicated and unconscious. That’s ridiculous, he’s not the type to get drunk unless someone else forces him to drink!" he said.

Then he smiled slyly as he accused Arcane. "Oh, I know, you must have forced him to drink it, right?"

"You forced him to drink, got him drunk so you could take the opportunity to sleep with him. And you..."

He then turned to Kyle, who was startled when Ethan stared at him intently.

"Or maybe you wanted to do it with him too. It looks like you’ve been trying to protect him this whole time."

"What? It’s not like that! Arcane is just a coworker. Why do you suspect us of doing it on purpose?" Kyle tried to dismiss Ethan’s thoughts that he was deliberately cheating on him while he was busy with work.

Seeing the situation spiraling out of control, Arcane decided to leave. Besides, this wasn’t his business anymore. It was Kyle and Ethan’s domestic affair.

"Don’t involve me in your business. I have nothing to do with you two. Besides, I’m married, I’m not interested in other people."

After saying that, he walked away, leaving Kyle alone with his husband in a heated situation and with a broken heart.
