Chapter 158: Chapter 158 - Arrival
Owen stared strangely at Theo for a moment, but ultimately decided to just let it go.
Theo, on the other hand, couldn’t help but keep smirking.
’He’s missed four days of scheduled training,’ he thought. ’Adrian will wipe that smile off his face in no time.’
As the plane came to a halt on the runway, the group quickly began gathering their belongings.
Finally, they made their way off together.
The moment the plane’s doors opened, a cold gust of wind swept past them.
Owen stretched his arms over his head while letting out a loud breath.
’’Now this feels like home.’’
Without another thought, he stepped onto the staircase and rapidly climbed down.
That’s when he suddenly paused mid-step.
Theo raised an eyebrow as he followed Owen’s gaze.
’’Oh...’’ he muttered quietly.
Two familiar figures stood a bit away from the stairs, clearly waiting for them.
The moment Adrian locked onto them, the smile on his face gradually turned manic.
His expression instantly made Owen’s large smile disappear.
Theo’s grin widened immediately.
’Yep,’ he thought. ’He’s dead.’
But before he could truly laugh at him, his gaze landed on the second figure.
Elise just stood there with her arms crossed.
Her cold expression made even Theo pause for a moment.
’’What’s going on?’’ Lyra’s voice echoed out behind them. ’’Why are we stopping?’’
Theo snapped out of his daze and glanced down at Owen, who had stopped just a few steps above the ground.
Then he looked back at Lyra and turned sideways.
’’Would you like the honors?’’
Lyra narrowed her eyes, immediately stepping past Theo with a bag in her hand.
Without even wasting a second, she raised her leg and kicked Owen forward.
Owen stumbled forward.
He only came to a stop just before Adrian.
Immediately, he glanced behind him with wide eyes that looked like he’d been betrayed.
’’Four entire days, huh?’’ Adrian said calmly.
Owen’s smile twitched slightly.
’’Now hold on a second,’’ he said quickly. ’’There were some very unique circumstances involved here.’’
Adrian slowly raised an eyebrow.
’’Unique circumstances?’’
’’I was in a beast tide,’’ Owen defended immediately. ’’I had plenty of near death experiences and stuff, emotional trauma, you know?’’
Adrian nodded thoughtfully.
’’I see.’’
Owen only looked relieved for a moment.
That’s when he felt the back of his shirt slowly lifting off the ground.
’’But did you know,’’ Adrian continued, raising him into the air, ’’such trauma is best beaten out of you?’’
Owen’s face twisted into despair instantly.
’’At least let me meet my parents first!’’ he shouted while trying to escape from his grasp.
Adrian paused for a moment, clearly contemplating it for a moment.
’’You know what,’’ he said, nodding slowly. ’’We can do that.’’
’’It’s been a long time since I’ve had a parent-teacher conference!’’
’’Wha—’’
Adrian kicked off the ground while carrying him helplessly.
Within seconds, they were far outside anyone’s vision.
Lyra and Iris just stared at the scene with big eyes.
Meanwhile, Theo’s full attention remained on Elise.
Unlike Adrian, she hadn’t said a word yet.
Instead, her eyes slowly swept over his body from top to bottom.
Finally, she looked back at him again.
’’You broke through,’’ she said, her voice cold and calm.
Theo nodded once.
’’Yup.’’
For a moment, everything went silent again.
Then she finally turned around.
’’Come to the training room in an hour,’’ she said. ’’We have a lot to catch up on, it seems.’’
With that, she walked away like a normal person.
Theo let out a deep breath as his expression relaxed slightly.
’She didn’t seem bothered at all,’ he thought. ’In all fairness, who would be?’
’It seems Adrian really just wanted an excuse to beat Owen up.’
He couldn’t help but chuckle.
Just imagining Adrian going to meet Owen’s parents before beating him up seemed hilarious.
But as he turned around, two very complicated looks met him.
’’What... was all that?’’ Iris asked, her eyes filled with confusion, disbelief, and many other emotions.
’’Oh, that,’’ Theo quickly responded, waving it off. ’’Owen’s instructor is just as eccentric as him, basically.’’
Lyra slowly looked in the direction Adrian had disappeared in and the direction Elise had walked off toward.
’’You people are insane,’’ she muttered, shaking her head.
Theo pressed his lips together firmly.
He couldn’t argue against that.
Both their teachers were unique in their own way, which would definitely seem like insanity from an outsider’s point of view.
Finally, Theo pulled the bag over his shoulder and stepped forward.
"Come on," he said. "We should probably get moving too."
The others quickly nodded and followed after him.
As they exited the airport area, the true size of the university finally revealed itself to Iris and Lyra.
Lyra, in particular, could only look around with wide eyes, while only a faint flicker of amazement passed through Iris’s eyes.
’’Amazing place, isn’t it?’’ Theo chuckled lightly.
’’It’s... ridiculous,’’ Lyra muttered quietly.
Iris nodded once.
’’I can see why so many people wish to study here.’’
The three continued walking, heading straight for the residential areas.
As they walked, Theo’s mind couldn’t help but fill with anticipation.
’I wonder how they are,’ he thought, smiling. ’Hope they aren’t too mad.’
He had teleported them away without as much as a warning after all.
’Ah... I’m sure they’ll be fine.’
It didn’t take long before the group arrived near a section of apartment complexes.
Compared to the campus area, the district felt peaceful and ordinary, without many luxurious designs or crazy buildings.
Theo slowed his pace slightly as he pointed toward one of the apartment buildings.
"We’ve been living there," he said casually. "Oh, by the way, once we get there I’ll probably need a bit of time to talk with my parents first."
Then he glanced back toward the girls.
’’You can also just leave your stuff there temporarily. That way I can get you signed up immediately once we head out again.’’
The two girls nodded calmly without much hesitation.
"Sounds good," Lyra responded first.
Meanwhile, Iris quietly nodded as well.
Though for a brief moment, a faint redness appeared on her face.
Thankfully, Theo didn’t notice it in the slightest.
Instead, his attention had already shifted back to the apartment again.
A smile slowly appeared on his face.
’Mom and dad... it’s been a while.’
