Chapter 534: [A Godless World] (2)
Silvanus didn’t miss the look of disgust and fear the security guard directed at Ember.
Naturally, he didn’t miss the man’s muttering either.
Just now, when he had turned around, Ember had clearly said that he hadn’t meant it that way. Unfortunately, the guard had been too frightened and had already run off, while Ember’s voice had been so quiet that it sounded more like he was talking to himself.
Perhaps he hadn’t really been trying to explain anything in the first place.
It was as if he had long since grown accustomed to this sort of thing.
Don’t tell me... is this why everyone says he’s so arrogant?
Silvanus didn’t believe the answer could be that simple.
But his time was running out. If he remained with Ember for too long, Happy TV Network would notice his presence.
Left with no other choice, Silvanus returned to the God Realm and continued observing the dungeon through his own perspective.
Outside, the other artists gradually emerged from their rooms.
Most of them had entered together in the same batch, and naturally, this was everyone’s fourth dungeon.
There were, however, a few notable exceptions.

The twins, John and Elle, both Rank C artists, were among them.
Almost the moment they appeared, everyone else silently accepted that they would be the leaders of this dungeon.
"A Rank D dungeon is just slowing down our growth, Brother."
Elle complained beside her brother, her boredom evident.
John ignored her, merely sweeping his gaze across everyone in the room before asking,
"Is anyone still missing?"
Just then, the door suddenly opened.
A young man hurried inside, trembling with fear, before immediately rushing over to his companions.
Ember entered the room.
The others didn’t even seem worthy of entering his field of vision. His gaze stopped only on the person seated in the chair at the center of the crowd.
It was a young man who looked to be under thirty years old. His features were gentle, yet his expression remained cold and indifferent.
It was John.
What drew even more attention was the head resting on his shoulder.
It was only half the size of a normal head, framed by long hair and delicate, adorable features.
It belonged to none other than Elle.
They were called twins, yet they couldn’t have been more different.
In fact, Elle had chosen the most bizarre possible way to stay alive, making John look no different from a monster.
As if sensing Ember’s utterly speechless stare, Elle suddenly opened her mouth wide and shrieked,

"Don’t look at me! Don’t look at me! You’re laughing at me, aren’t you, you bastard?! John! Kill him! John!"
Her piercing scream echoed throughout the room, causing the drinking glasses to tremble as if they might shatter at any moment.
The others could do nothing but cover their ears, silently cursing while remaining powerless to stop her.
Ember frowned deeply. His hand slowly clenched into a fist, and he took a step backward, clearly intending to leave.
"Elle. Quiet."
At that moment, John finally spoke.
Elle glared at her brother in disbelief, but in the end, she reluctantly fell silent.
John smiled at Ember before rising to his feet.
"Don’t mind the words of a child, Ember. Dungeons are dangerous. Working as a team is necessary."
"I don’t need a team."
His gaze swept slowly across everyone present before he said,
"You’ll only get in my way. Don’t go looking for your own deaths."
"You...!"
Someone flushed with embarrassment and anger at Ember’s words, but before they could lash out, the person beside them stopped them.
"We can only solve everything as quickly as possible if we piece all the clues together," John said with a faint smile. "Do you really think you can uncover every clue by yourself?"
Elle sneered from the side.
"How pathetically arrogant."
She twisted her neck to look at her brother.
"John, why bother with someone like him?"
Quite a few people secretly agreed with Elle.
Still, they also knew Ember was capable. Having him around to protect them while they searched for clues would make things much easier.
Ember said nothing more.
He simply turned around and walked out.
It was also John’s first time meeting someone as uncooperative as Ember.

A higher-ranked artist like him had personally extended an invitation, yet Ember showed not the slightest hint of gratitude.
John’s voice turned cold.
"If you walk out that door, you’ll be making an enemy of everyone here."
[How shameless!]
[Everyone has the right to act independently. Ember just doesn’t want to form a team, but John’s deliberately turning everyone against him!]
[Why do these people keep trying to bully Ember? Seriously.]
[Good thing they all end up dead anyway, haha. These idiots can look forward to the same fate.]
Ember didn’t even bother turning around to look at John.
He simply continued walking out the door.
Having his authority challenged the very first time they met caused the smile on John’s face to crack.
At that moment, someone hurriedly spoke up.
"Ember has always been known for being arrogant..."
Another person added,
"Everyone who’s ever been in the same dungeon as him ended up dead. Maybe it’s better not to have him on the team anyway."
These people had no idea what John was really after.
The more clues an artist uncovered and the greater their contribution to completing the mission, the more credits they would receive at the end of the dungeon. It was obvious these people had never once finished a dungeon in first place.
Ember, however, was different.
He had ranked first in each of his first three dungeons. He knew better than anyone just how enormous the credit rewards could be.
John’s goal had always been simple:

To earn the maximum number of credits.
Therefore, the moment Ember openly opposed him, Ember had to die.
This wasn’t merely an ordinary invitation to cooperate.
Unfortunately, Ember hadn’t made what John considered the smarter choice.
Silvanus watched Ember’s departing figure before shifting his gaze to the calculating look in John’s eyes.
By now, he had gained a rough understanding of Ember’s circumstances and a glimpse of his personality.
The only thing he still didn’t know...
...was what obsession burned within Ember’s heart.
But that was fine.
He would probably find out soon enough.
[Skill "The World Is My Stage!" is ready!]
[Prepare for your new role. 5... 4... 3...]
